So the other day i was talking to some guy and i believe he was a CSR, i wish i had gotten his name and ref # down, rudest mofo i've talked too so far. He wouldn't give me any options when i asked about getting the iphone4 because i'm not on a contract right now, and he said id i have to pay full price right now or wait 24months until i'm eligible for a hardware upgrade. I kept asking why i wasn't eligible because i said i could have gone to another company for the iphone because i'm not on a contract and he just said, "well did you want to switch to telus then, we can cancel your account right now." Called back a few hours later and this lady was talking to me and she said she can make an exception and get the iphone 4, but they have no stock and told me to call back. =D I still think fido csr's are much nicer. |
Rogers "the reliable" network just dropped my call mid conversation with retentions haha. good job guys, good job. On a side note, I asked about pre-ordering the samsung galaxy s and it was a no go. upgrades only once the phone is released pre-order is for new sign ups only. |
hey guys, when u call *611 the first csr can do nothing in terms of giving discounts on your plan right? do u guys just say, i wanna cancel to them, in order speak to retentions? |
I just called the Retention line and this is what i got! 6gb data 2500 txt msgs 250daytime minutes unlimited weekends and evening startin at 6pm caller id,voicemail Rogers to Roger , no network calling unfortunately All for $54 including tax i figure it wasnt bad since im payin less then the student plan being advertised right now! |

Take the interaction(reference) number and quote that offer the next time you call and build on that offer. DO NOT antagonize the reps or bad notes will haunt you. tips: - wind's student offer of unlimited talk and text w/caller id for 25dollars, and 25 dollars for unlimited surf (5gb technically, some reps may not even know the cap). even if you are not a student, they dont know that either. I start by telling them i just went back to school full time and so i have no income and need ways to save. -17.50 retention plan (200min 6pm eve) is hard to credit but a higher priced plan like the 25 dollar (250min 6pm eve) might allow them to give you a 10+ dollar credit. which will net a 15dollar plan. call back later and say i rather take the 17.50 offer instead since you dont need the 50extra minutes but keep the 10 dollar credit. some retentions reps may say that the credit isnt transferable etc... come back by saying you thought the credit was for the value pack etc.. if they wont budge on the credit transfer then leave it at the 25dollar plan and move on to other options and try again with another call. (biggest savings for me from this one, 3/3 times for me. i suggest doing this last after you got all your other options and credits) - data credits. the first 5 dollar credit for the 30dollar 6gb plan is easy. keep in mind that they are more lenient on crediting the 30dollar 1gb plan. which you can try to switch to the 6gb plan and keep the credits. (warning: sept 30 deadline on the 30dollar 6gb plan) -if you are offered any options for free, TAKE IT (bonus minutes, r2r etc). may not be the option you want but you can trade it for another option later on another call. try to get the easier rogers to rogers option first as thats much easier to get. then with another call see if they can switch rogers to rogers for rogers to fido instead as your supposed GF/BF is on fido. they will in turn say theres no such thing and the closest option would be network calling. by asking upgrade to that, its highly likely they will switch you to network calling with the GF/BF card. -learn their billing and credit system(from other peoples plans and credits). -when they say the system does not allow it, its is NOT true(break the agent not the system). |
Hey Guys i need some help. I just called retentions and got an offer 200 minutes 6pm unlimited call display 2500 text 30.80 + fees and taxes and then i said well can i reduce the text msg and get more minutes? so she added on 100 minutes. for total of 300 i said i will call back tmrw because i need time to think. my initial negotiation started by saying how windmobile is offering my plan that i currently have for half the price. and then she gave me that offer i have like 20 months of contract left. half a year before my next HUP. been with rogers probably 3 years now. this is my first retentions offer. Is there anything i can say or do to get more? i also asked about HUP and she said that i cant until my next HUP availability. anyway to make that earlier? i dont think she took off SAF nor did i get any credits. im willing to add data if i can get more discounts via that. i might be asking too much? dunno... |

So I called and got my final cost changed from $83 down to ~$50. I'm sure I could have negotiated more, but I didn't feel like being an asshole. :lol However, I brought up the iPhone angle and the rep mentioned that hardware upgrade options were taken away from retentions. :confused: Should I call back and try to talk to someone else? |

your plan sounds like the old 20dollar 250minute eve6pm for 20 dollar plan + saf.... the new plan is 25 for 250minutes eve6pm + grrf (2.58) technically cents in savings. but on redflagdeals some people have gotten a credit for saf |

I let him finish and then i suggest well i was hoping to make the 30$ plan i was offered more closer to WIND plan and i suggest an unlimited incoming or a ROgers to Rogers would be great. so he looks into it and at first trys to get me to pay for it 5$. i make quest sighs and long silence pauses and then he says, Oh wait it was already offered to you yesterday, ill just add both for free since its on there. ( he was just giving shit like no crazy) and then before i even mention a HUP eligibilty reset, he offers me it, saying if i get data he can make an exception. so i got the Bold for 99$. (no iphones4s and he didnt let me preorder) oh and when i mentioned wind and he checked that i live in coquitlam he asked if they have coverage there now? i said no, but my mailing adress is in coq but i live in vancouver b/c of school. That is all. Oh and i will be calling tmrw to get my 30$ 6gb reduced to 25$, saying that wind is unlimted internet for 25$ so i should be credited that. |
dont stop there, keep going. possible to swap r2r to unlimited network calling. keep trying upto 10 dollar data credit |
there is also a 50dollar HUP rebate for all phones aside from the iphone 4 which is floating around also. i'll try to find that pdf for you |
