If someone is willing to help me negotiate a new plan, I am willing to pay for their services! Or maybe get you a coffee or donuts?

:lol

Though I have thought of asking something like this before, it is best that you do it yourself.

Besides, who wants to be on hold for 30+ minutes?

If you're serious about paying someone, make sure you break it down into a base contract where the money is guaranteed then you have bonuses for each new level achieved.

So basically if they call for you, they will get $10 dollars.

If they can get you the basic retentions plan, you will add $5.
If they can get your more credits, you will add $5.
if they can get you an epic plan, you will add $10.

So at the end of the day, you're guaranteeing an amount based on performance. Numbers I listed probably aren't realistic and were used for demonstration purposes.

can anyone send me a link to the "HUP reset trick", I saw this from redflagdeals a while ago. but it disappeared.... I think it shortens HUP cycle an allows you to get new device sooner?

It's like a new awesome game now!

I have one year and 5 months left of my contract and currently paying $74 a month after tax on my iphone 3G with rogers. Think I stand any chance that they'll give me anything? It'd be nice to have an iphone 4, but a cheaper plan would be great. I was just going to wait it out and switch to Bell or telus after.

current Coporate plan:
200 Daytime
unlimited evenings and weekends after 6pm
unlimited text messages
caller id
visual voice mail
who called
500 mb data

invader 10-11-2010 03:54 PM

Major thanks to RS for this thread and the tips given by members to negotiate a better deal.

This is what i have:

$17.50 Voice plan

300 minutes
Unlimited calling after 6pm
Unlimited Incoming
R2R
CID/VM
2500txt
500mb data

Total - $45.08 -> $50.49 after tax.

This is something I never understood.

Why would you want to call the retention's line DIRECTLY?!

They know whether you are calling from a direct line or by other CSRs. I think it is MUCH better to have to go through different CSRs than going straight and having them wonder about why you have that number.

Sure it will take longer but the end results should be better.

y does it matter whether or not i wanna call em directly? i call from diff landlines and ive had NO probs dealing with multiple ppl's accts. sometimes ppl just have no time to wait 40mins + to get transferred

Alpine50 10-11-2010 11:52 PM

You guys think I'd be able to call back after a couple weeks of getting a new plan. I'm finding I'm using more data than the person said would be fine but I need more

Nevermind, if you didn't understand what I was trying to convey from my previous post, there isn't any other clearer way of saying it.

Just out of curiosity, what is your current plan/the plans you were able to negotiate?

oh i understand what you were saying, you think it matters if u call directly, whereas i dont. ive negotiated numerous people's accts and have had no probs and no issues doing so by calling them directly.

the plans i have negotiated are:

7 plans @

200 daytime + 150 bonus mins
unlimited incoming
unlimted eve/wknds from 5 pm
unlimited network calling
100 cdn long distance mins
2500 outgoing texts, unlimited incoming
CID, name display, enhanced voicemail
6GB data
GRF

$48.08

1 plan @ (on this plan, i also got 2 HUP phones, sony xperia x10 and Blackberry curve 9300 both at $50)

200 daytime mins + 150 bonus mins
unlimited incoming
unlimted eve/wknds 5 pm
unlimited network calling
2500 outgoing texts, unlimited incoming
CID, name display, enhanced voicmail
500MB data

$32.50 + GRF

Meowjin 10-12-2010 03:06 PM

Got a New 9700 To replace my broken one that I bought (stolen according to the IMEI) back in december.

then they looked at my plan, and got something like the above, (the 6gb data plan) for 58 dollars after tax and everything, and then I can upgrade to a new phone.

I'm thinking of keeping my 9700 and going with a samsung captivate or an iphone 4 or a torch.

hmmm.

for once I like rogers.

wasabisashimi 10-12-2010 04:13 PM

hey, I tried using my sexiest voice to sweet talk rogers retention into getting me a data plan deal, but they wont give in. I talked to two of them today.

They only offer $25 for 500MB, and $30 for 1GB.... they are like " i am sorry you missed out on the 6GB $30 promotion. You'll have to wait until the next Iphone release cuz every year we have 6GB promotion placed for Iphone release.... blah blah blah

Anyone have more luck than me?.. Obviously I didnt take the data plan, and want to know what else I can do to make them give me a better deal.

invader 10-12-2010 05:56 PM

I think you are out of luck on the data plan. I tried hard to get the 6GB, they told me i was a week too late.

Have you been a customer for a while?

ive been a customer for about 6 years (2 lines)
my mom about 5 years
the other lines, i think they've all been 4 years +

CRS 10-12-2010 10:01 PM

Those are awesome plans.

Kudos to you for getting them!

Call it superstition then because I'm going to go through the old fashion way rather than the direct line.
