^^^Yeah, but they'll be stuck with the 4.02 modem firmware, and only the elite-team's special anySIM 1.2 can unlock that.

I wonder if I should do that...hahah I can at least upgrade the modem firmware if not the full phone's firmware...hahah

actually i upgraded to 1.1.2.. then i was stuck w/ the new firmware but then w/ more tinkering i got it back to original 1.0.2 w/ its firmware =) and then back to 1.1.1 100% working..

i think i spent more time tinkerin w/ iphone than actually using it as a phone..

ok i have a huge problem..someone was messing around with my phone and went to that ultc or whatever thing and unload-w my springboard so now my phone doesn't work..well technically it turns on but i can't do anything and when i plug it into the computer it recognizes it..ANYONE KNOW WHAT I CAN DO TO FIX IT?

BTW resetting the phone DOES NOT HELP..it just stays at blank screen with apple icon like when u start up the phone

Not sure if it's that easy as Summerboard has files in a bunch of places; I'm not sure where all of them are. You don't have WiFi? Just uninstall it and install it again.
So you have that Launchctl GUI program? The one that looks like a little devil with a hammer? If you do go into it and the "com.apple.CommCenter.plist" one should be in red. Click it and click "load -w", and confirm it. Or you have Mobile Terminal? You can go into it and manually enable CommCenter by typing:

launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist

If not you can restore to 1.0.2 (not 1.1.1 or 1.1.2!). First download the 1.0.2 restore file:

then go into iTunes, go to the iPhone section, holding the Shift button (I'm assuming you're on a PC, hold the Alt key if you're on a Mac), and click the Restore button. It'll ask you for the restore file, and choose the file you just downloaded. Wait for a bit, and you'll get a clean, unactivated and jailed 1.0.2. I'm assuming you're on 1.1.1 now? If you are, it'll be unlocked, if not, then you'll have to unlock it again and start all over.

i can't even get into anything because nothing will show up on my screen but i will try to restore with 1.0.2 like u instructed. i'm still running on it..i didn't update to 1.1.1! will my phone still be unlocked if i restore it to the 1.0.2? i hope so! thanks so much!

im running 1.1.1 and it doesnt find any devices...

if you do restore it to 1.0.2, all you need to do is to jailbreak the phone again and the phone will be working fine. if you still dont know how to do this, you can bring it into our store and we can take care of it for you since its something small.

That's fine. It's supposed to give you an error. You've restored to 1.0.2, and all you need is to kick it out of restore mode....really easy on the Mac but I'm not sure how it's done on a PC....-_-No problems here.

so guys im thinking of getting a ipod touch or a iphone, is it worth it just to get the iphone?

the only thing im thinking of is how the battery life might die quicker since ur using it for a phone/mp3 player

but reading from the reviews and stuff the battery life is preety good.
