Did anyone try out a good car kit for the Iphone yet?

The ones that does audio and phone functions? maybe bluetooth?

Uh oh, watch out for those rogue sources! Just tried some of them out and ended up killing my iPhone. It froze and when I rebooted it didn't load properly and all I saw were flashing white and black bars...scary! Manually entered DFU mode, restored to 1.0.2, then upgraded back to 1.1.1. :/ Now I have to re-do my set up from before.....haha

theres really no harm in 1.1.1 except for "customize" doesnt work 100%

and some of the newer apps are geared towards 1.1.1 =)

Question about unlocking:

I have a Telus Mike phone, it has a sim card, can i proceed with the unlocking process with this sim?

hey i was wondering how exactly to put my sim contacts onto the iphone and which program to use to put custom ringtones in there....is there a link or anything you guys would know? thanks in advance. v1.1.1 btw.

Exactly.

You need to sync your phonebook to outlook or windows address book. I did this with my blackberry (came w. software). Once you have your contacts on there, you can plug in your iphone and itunes can sync your phonebook with your computer.

As for ringtones, im pretty sure 1.1.1 firmware doesnt work. I think you need iBrickr but im not sure. I have a 1.1.1 phone too and I have no custom ringtones yet. Maybe someone else knwos a bit more.

Ringtones work for 1.1.1. There's a strange hack for it, but afterwards it's made it as easy as 1.0.2 to put ringtones on. :)

Eh? You could I guess...but I'm not sure that Mike phones still work? I know nothing about them.

there is an easier way to add ringtones to your iphone..

i am too lazy to find the webpage,, but is on one of the "guide" areas on modmyiphone..


basically, you convert your MP3 ringtone file to .ACC using itunes, then rewrite your ringtone.plist using winscp.... Add the ringtone to the ringtone folder and you will get your custom ringtone... only bitch thing is that everytime you sync your phone you will have to re-paste your ringtone list again...


the ringtone.plist should look something like this..

for some reason my friend's iPhone is missing the dock. I installed customize via installer and try to use rSBT didnt work. any ideas? it had some app call ilang or smth similar w/ language option on it before but stupid me deleted it now its like this help anyone?

Missing the dock? Nag the seller! And rSBT doesn't work in 1.1.1 yet. iLang? Like for Chinese input?

its 1.02 dock as in the bottom part of the screen dock not iphone's dock

Reflash the baseband, then virginize. That'll end up with a locked 1.0.2 with 3.14 modem firmware. Then I dunno, as on a Mac it's press two buttons and it upgrades to a jailbreakable 1.1.1...dunno how to do that on a PC. Google is your best buddy?

sucessfully unlocked the iphone today :)

tried unlocking the telus sim card, did not work even though the installer said succesful.

contacts are so annoying....sent em from my n95 to outlook and tried to send it to iphone from itunes...didn't wrk...so stupid.
