I can echo that the battery life is awesome. Is it worth it? Depends on what you need in a phone and whether you like carrying multiple devices are not. Is it a hassle to unlock it and all that? Yes, but it's a great learning experience too.

man, today i just installed the undate for customize *1.16* and it fackign screwed my whole layout.. the 1.16 did not have the "hidden" feature for the apps and I got all these useless apps on my dock that i can't "hide"....

I guess i have to manually install the new 1.17 firmware to see if that is fixed or go back to the old firmware.

unlocking is not a hassle :P it only becomes a hassle if you are upgrading and downgrading the fw ^^ oh btw i found out that they took out summerboard for the moment :( and battery life is really great if you only use it as an ipod or just phone ~ but if you use wifi/phone/ipod it can drain fairly fast

is it true the iphone doesnt have video recording? or perhaps that the video recording is very shitty quality?

i think i'm gonna downtown ibrickr to do it since i don't need to connect to wifi since most of the time my phone won't connect to my home wifi

For 1.1.1 iBrickr is supposed to have compatitbility issues...or so it says on his website. I used WinSCP with the MeCCa patch and it's pretty easy.

Just convert to AAC via iTunes, drag and drop into the Ringtones folder then rename to a " .m4a" or whatever it was that it needs to be renamed to. Remember to leave the space infront!!!

No video recording at all. Yet.

i find using winscp very easy on my phone and home wifi.. and since my IP for the phone is preset to winscp, all i need to do is load it up, and paste the ringtone.

what router are you using? I find most d-link router to be a pain when connecting to other wireless devices.. I am using a bufflo wireless G router and it works flawlessly on my laptop and iphone.

D-Links are garbage. I use a Linksys one, which probably shares the same chipset as the Buffalo one if I recall correctly.

If WiFi's an issue, iBrickr will do too, just not as convenient or quick.

i just downloaded ibrickr...and right after i opened the exe it found my iphone and i go just go straight into uploading the ringtones

Programs and apps: Install "Installer" and browse away. :) Hard to recommend anything without knowing what you want to do with the phone.

Summerboard themes: Many on Installer, and you can see many of them at ModMyiFone.

Excess icons: Can hide them with the rBST function of the Customize app under firmware 1.0.2, no longer possible in 1.1.1 (as of today).

lol the red one is mine and the black one is a silicone case. Take a look at the earlier pages of this thread as I've answered the question before for my case (there's a black version I have too). I got them on eBay. As for the black silicone case, I have no idea.
I use that Linksys Linux one, and loaded DD-WRT firmware on it. So bloody awesome...:D

just a heads up.. DON'T update customize to 1.17. It Removes the hidden feature! Instead download a patch which is downloadable at modmyifone for the old 1.13 firmware

Lets say I have a iPhone 1.0.2 Unlocked. Is it possible to upgrade it to firmware 1.1.1 and unlock it again? or does the upgrade does not affect the unlock?

if you updated to the new verison you can always downgrade back to the old one, but just make sure you patch the old version since it will lock up on you if you don't patch it.

the patch for the old version is on the modmyifone site. takes like 1 min to update and i got my hidden feature back :D *who needs clock, weather, itunes store anyways!!!*
