how much is it to payout of the contract ? $/month or a certain amount ? |
Call and rogers and said my plan was a bit expensive and was wondering if they can reduce it. So my new plan is 200min anytime Unlimited evenings and weekends (starts at 6pm) Caller ID/Voice mail My 10(any 10 numbers within canada) Unlimited fido/rogers 200MB data(screw the data I hardly go over 50MB lol) for $50 per month not sure if it is good or bad but at least it will allow me to call my friends in Calgary. |
Was calling in to finally cancel my 3 year contract that is coming up on August 06. Declined all of their offers until i reached this one: 150 weekday minutes, unlimited evening and weekends at 6PM Caller ID & Voicemail Unlimited text/pic messaging 200 mb data $35 before taxes! This plan works for me for now. How come I have not heard about the new cancellation terms from Rogers? It has been in effect since Jan 2011 when you sign up from that date there are no cancellation charges. If you signed up/upgraded your phone and want to cancel then you just pay off the phone and if you signed up for the 2 or 3 year term without the phone then you don't have to pay any cancellation fees. ???? |
How does a Rogers phone upgrade work anyways? The Samsung Infuse I got last September is being a pile of crap (ie: Horrible Wi-fi, not even getting an Android update) so being 1 year into a 3 year contract do I pay out the Infuse or pay for the new one at a discounted rate? I'm fine with my plan which isn't too bad: 200 daytime minutes Evenings/weekends After 6 Unlimited text/picture messaging Unlimited social networking 1 GB data for $63.99 after tax Can I negotiate that down too? Thanks in advance |

if you sign a new 3 year contract is it possible to go on a retention plan? and should you go on the plan before or after u sign? |
I just got off the phone with retention.. and nothing happened. My contract is up in early 2013. They want $125 plus tax for early cancellation if i go that route. I actually just wanted a hardware upgrade and to sign on for another 3 years. They said the only plans they have right now are on the website. There are no longer discounts or bundles applied to any plans and that what is posted online is their "best" plans. I currently pay 42 bucks a month before tax... 500MB data and all the voice stuff I need. They said my next plan was to do the 67 dollar one which will give me 6gigs... and exactly all the voice/texting i have right now. I said it is pretty steep and they basically said ... these are the BEST RATES. THERE IS NO BUNDLES OR ANYTHING ELSE YOU CAN DO.. OR... I can pay 53 dollars for a 200MB plan. I told them it makes no sense. You want me to pay 11 dollars more and loose 300MB ???? and they said.. YES. I tried to explain about customer loyalty and was given these are our best rates and compared to other competitors... we are alot cheaper. It cost them 20 bucks to have my line with them... etc........ and i said.... i am sure that cost is something that every company faces.... BOTTOM LINE... my crackberry is about to die.. and i have no plan... and not sure what my next step is. Should i call back and hope to speak to a nicer customer relation person ???? |
Same boat as Hamsup, I have been talking to customer retention in regards to my contract, they said the same thing... no current credits are being honored once they expire. My bill will go up 25$ per phone line(2) and they said piss off if you don't like it. 10 years with them means squat, their reasoning is and I quote... " we are losing far too much money on hardware subsidies" Dec comes and it looks like Virgin gets my money, lucky I bought my i4S phones at apple. |
When you call retentions don't haggle to cancel. They rather give deals to customers that are willing to stay and are NICE on the phone. There is no way you are getting a phone plan for $50 tax in with 6gb data. Don't be cheap |
Agreed, being polite is a given. No one expects $50 for 6gigs, but 2gigs is within reason. Don't be sheep |
theres a new super 6 gb plan. its the my 10 voice plan with 6gb data for 60. |

NONO.. this wasn't my first rodeo guys... I've always been polite and have been on retention plans for the last 6-7 years easy. My current plan was 42 bucks. - Free Network (rogers to rogers/fido) - 200 day time - 150 long D - 2500 text - unlimited weekend and evenings - 500MB - call id/call waiting/call manager - voicemail it was sorta a slap in the face when they wanted me to pay 53 bucks with 300MB LESS DATA...... that doesn't make sense..... |
Hi, I have been with Rogers for over 12 yrs now. I got this offer from bell : 55$ (business plan for each line) 1100 shared minutes outgoing UNLIMITED incoming calls UNLIMITED talking between sharing members UNLIMITED 6pm-7am early evening calls UNLIMITED weekends UNLIMITED text messaging Call Display + Voicemail 12 GB DATA FREE LONG DISTANCE CALLING for 3 years Bell also offer buy one get one free Samsung GS3 , so i will pay $159.99 for 2 GS3 Guess what, I talked to Rogers retention and say this is the offer bell store gave me. The agent told me their best plan was the $60 new "not so" super all-in plan (without CID and VM, which is +7$ extra), or the $88 dollar business plan (similar, but less data and minutes)............... Seriously, he told me there is nothing more rogers will offer, basically told me to submit my 30day notice, They are willing to let me go to Bell. Why has Rogers becoming a non-negotiable take it or leave it company? So frustrating. I am planing to switch to bell, I have been very nice talking to retention but I guess their are not allow to give away any deals, and rather let go customers to their competitor..............End Rant |
yea my awesome plan has 1 more year left(40dollars after tax for a voice + cid vm + 6gb data). I am counting the days until i'll have to figure out what to do next. i refuse to pay over 50dollars for what i'm getting. i think wind is now stable enough and will consider switching if the iphone 5 works on the aws band |
a plan with 6gb simply cannot b under 50 now........ |
can it b 55? |
TELUS: So I came back to Vancouver couple days ago after being away for a year. My moms telus account (10 year customer) has a pre-set cancellation date due on Wednesday for the account. Since, i came back i decided to keep that one alive if i was able to agree on a plan. So the account is currently on a random generic 20$ plan with free unlimited incming + even+wknd (the free unlimited stuff, i got from retentions what i made the contract 3 years ago, but its probably going to expire?[wednesday marks the 3 year] regardless of if i renew the account or not) So a few minutes ago, i made the call and said i would reconsider renewing if i can get what i need. The first csr tried to sign me up with the promo plan but once I say "so besides the plans listed on the website, there is nothing i can get?)" which leads him to mention loyal team and proceeded to transfer my call to them. I basically said, "this is what i need for it to work" (in a polite way of course): 200min evenin + wknds 5GB CID, VM Unlimited incoming text for around 50$. (didnt even mention yet that i wanted the any one time fees waived) obviously they said no and etc etc kept trying to promote the 65$ plan then got countered with this. 300min even + wken unlimited text CID, VM 1GB 55$ I really want more data at least 2gb, and more minutes for the same price. Am I being unreasonable? I really dont think it is because this is what i had with rogers retentions 2 years ago: 200 Wkday Unltd. Eve/Wkends 100 Minutes bonus Unlimited Incoming calls Rogers to Rogers 6Gb Data Value Pack 6pm early evening Call forwarding/Transfer $57.50 + 2.43 GRRF + Tax = $67.12 with an early HUP reset. (i had to sell this because i was leaving van for a while) and this account was probably only 3-4 years old vs the 10year on telus im trying to negotiate. unless the price of data went up, retentions are so much tighter now ??? |
Spoiler! Ok just got off the phone with Telus loyalty team. I wasnt aware of the SASK55 plan but now that i was i had more 'negotiation' arsenal. 'straight-up' stated that my friend had 500minutes unlimited 5pm evening wknd my 10 unlimited txt 5gb data CID, VM, conference etc etc [this is the sask55 plan btw. it was only offered to Saskatchewan people as a promo last month] for 55$. she went away for a while and then said that she can give it to me for 60$. I retaliated that its a great deal but its just that my friend was able to get literally the exact same thing for 5$ less few week ago (truth). she said that promo is gone etc etc I couldve said ill consider it and try for more with a different call but this CSR was really nice (best i have actually encountered + she didnt have an accent (could be the reason why she was the best lol). I decided to just accept. So from a total of 2 calls, I went from 300min even + wken unlimited text CID, VM etc etc 1GB 55$ to 500minutes unlimited 5pm evening wknd my 10 unlimited txt 5gb data CID, VM, conference etc etc 60$ still wish itd be 60$ taxes in but oh well. for those new to retentions calling, its all about researching what others have gotten for how much. |
I called in to ask for a better deal 3 days before expiry (I never mentioned cancelling from Rogers) they literally changed my data from 500mb to 2gb LTE, and took $20 and 6.95 SAF off. No contract was required at the time, however I signed a 3 year contract 2 weeks later when I picked up a Galaxy S3. If you like your current plan, which I do, I think you're better off just asking if you can get a discount, rather than asking for more features etc at a lower price. Asking for a straight discount takes about 5 minutes, asking for all the bells and whistles takes more time for the agent (who is less inclined to get you a better deal) |

just by 1 more phone call i was able to get 4gb more data and 300 more minutes for 5$ more. |
