tbh didn't even feel like it snowed. All our cars worked just fine, its not a significant amount of snow until my accord can't get out without ripping its bumper off, the 300 highcenters on the rear differential (happened in 08/09 LOL), and it takes me 30 mins and a lot of swearing to get the cars into the garage.


I really think all the pains in the ass are what make me think its a huge snowfall, when everyone gets around relatively easily its no fun.

Please disregard the wind chill warning that was issued earlier due to technical difficulties.

Sustained southerly winds of 70 to 100 km/h with peak gusts from 100 to 140 km/h will develop Wednesday morning.

This is a warning that potentially damaging winds are expected in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements.

An intense Pacific low pressure system will approach the British Columbia south coast overnight and associated with the system will be very strong southerly winds. Sustained speeds of 70 to 100 km/h with gusts of 100 to 140 km/h will develop late Wednesday morning and early afternoon. The highest values will occur over Northern Vancouver island, closest to the low. Winds will first occur as southeasterlies early Wednesday morning as the system approaches. Wind speeds will then increase in the late morning and early afternoon as the direction of the wind veers into the south and southwest. Winds will start to diminish Wednesday evening.

Meanwhile, strong outflow winds in combination with cold temperatures will continue to give wind chill values near minus 20 this morning over the north and central coast.

I'm in southvan and lightning hit really hard between 5:05 - 5:10 ish. The lights in my house went out for a couple of seconds, and then came back. I was in the back of my house and looked to the front and saw nothing but blue glow. I'm assuming it hit pretty close.

I was on the back deck barbecuing. Needless to say, I barbecue in some horrible weather. Oh well. I wanted food and the only way I know how to cook it is by fire.

What I made today was cream cheese stuffed chicken breast with garlic bread (on the grill nom nom nom). I didn't give a fuck what kind of weather was happening, I was gonna flip it every 3 minutes and put sauce on that fucker every 3 minutes. Somethings are just more important than your own well being, one of them being the magical moment that occurs when cheese of any kind meets meat of any kind.


I did think the world was coming to an end when the thunder hit right after that lightning. Scared the crap out of me haha.

All I can say is all weather Nokian WR's does not equal snow tires. Good thing for 4 wheel drive and a center locking diff.

Wanted to do some testing in my QX up on SFU. Couldn't brake worth shit, couldn't turn worth shit, and couldn't start from a stand still on a hill worth shit. Snow tires on my S2000 was way better.

Oh yeah, and some punks throwing ice balls at cars. They nearly shit their pants and ran when I stopped and started backing up after them.

It may only snow a few weeks a year in Vancouver, but temperatures hover near or below freezing for months and all season tires are not designed to operate in temperatures below 7 degrees. A couple hundred dollars a year amortized over the life of winter tires is a small price to pay for the added safety and security over the entire season, nevermind not having to take a gamble everytime you drive when it snows.

When I was at Coquitlam center one person was pulled over, and another SUV cop was on pipeline and turned on his lights like a smart guy until he realized he was not even at the entrance of the mall parking lot so he turned of his lights to not get the people sliding their cars attention but messed up and all the cars left asap. went to the jacky concert stayed a lil longer after the concert

my fault, i didnt know the parking lot i parked in closed @ 11:30 and i got back @ 11:35 and it was already closed! to top it off my phones battery had died, luckily my buddy was still @ his car so we called the Securiguard # to come and open the gate for me (i parked in the Amec building)

the security took 1hr to arrive, according to his map Lot31 (it says on the sign what lot/address the parking lot is) belongs to some other lot on Howe st.; anyway he doesn't have the right key to open this parking lot... his pass won't open it... so he calls it in and they say they'll send a guy in a car (the security that came was on a bicycle) so i shouldnt have to wait too long....

well it took another 1hr for the next guy to arrive and this is with my calling every 20mins going wtf? and getting the reply of (10mins, so sorry) so finally get my car from securiguard and it cost $50 -_- (so parking ended up costing me $71 tonight) and im on my way home

but the thing is its been snowing for a long time now and although its rain in downtown its a snow storm the moment you pass Commercial Drive and i don't have my snows on -_- so Im driving really slow especially since the hwy isn't plowed and some spots its quite thick
saw a bunch of cars spun out and stuck in the snow on my way home, i spun once luckily there were no cars anywhere nearby and luckily i was going slow enough that i didnt keep spinning

Then behind my property, there was a hit and run going downhill. The person hit the right side of the Van, runs up the side walk, smashes their front fence.

I immediately got into my car and tried to track the bastard down, but unfortunately that person took off too quickly.

You're not likely to find them retail... probably only from security/CCTV distributors - places like Tri-Ed or ADI (although I don't think either of those carry IQ). We normally sell them to clients for (if memory serves) $799.

That car is on summers, not even all seasons. These cars are terrible in the snow without proper snow tires, nevermind summer tires.

That said, I still have my summers on, and there's no snow in Kits so I'm going to the gym.
