The difference between you and I; I realize that winter tires are of no added cost and provide greatly improved traction for several months a year, there's a reason why they're called winters not snows.

This. Why don't more people realize this, instead of worrying about wearing down the tread of their precious snow tires like they were studded with gold? The tread you wear on the snow tires you save on your summers; in the end the cost pretty much evens out. Plus you get the peace of mind and traction in cold temperatures especially at night.

I never understand why people swap out their winter tires before the winter season is over. Like Mindbomber said, they're winter tires, not snow tires. You get far better traction in low temperatures even if it's above 0* and there have been mornings where I've seen neighbour's cars covered in ice, even over the past couple weeks.

All I can say is that if I'm hit during either a cold snap or a snow fall by one of you guys who decided to swap out your winter tires, there will be hell to pay.

Here in Bavaria, all cars must have winter tires on all four corners from late Nov to Easter otherwise it's something like a 60eur fine per corner.

Came in from the studio to coal harbour this morning at 6am, Boundary Rd was a disaster, everyone was going 5-10kms, you could tell they were on summer or all seasons, so frustrating since I had snow tires and was stuck behind these idiots.

Saw 2 cars stuck on the incline on 29th/Joyce from Boundary and 1 car stuck sideways on that slight incline in the left turn lane on Boundary going to 22nd and 4 cars spun off the road, funny enough, 3 off them were BMW 3 series.

I just put my mid-season setup on. They're just winters with 6/32nds left. Not great in deep snow but perfect for cold weather, slush and rain. I'll probably get my summers on at the end of next month.

it was snowing at mount pleasant when i went to work. Got to work and it was sunny and it was pretty much sunny until I got home. Just went out to get pizza and it was hailing. when I got the pizza it was sunny again. When I got home it was hailing again. This is some tornado weather bullshit.
