First off I didnt watch the game and breezed through most of the pages regarding this game but hopefully many of the Lu haters will stfu.

Based on stats alone it would seem that he stole this game for the Canucks. 35 shots against with 17 in the 3rd period while the Canucks only had a grand total of 13 the entire game. 5 Consecutive Penalties killed and judging by many of the comments Lu was making some nice saves.

After last game the commentaters on Team Radio had lots to say about Glass and it is pretty clear this game the guy was a factor but in the wrong way.

How is it that Kes and MG are the only guys in the Canuck organization on Twitter? This is a major issue.

Nope, they just drove by with their windows up. Some of the players(manny, lapierre, tambi, Raymond) were smiling seeing the fans. The others(bowness, shorthouse, sedins, kes, burr, lu, glass) didn't seem too happy to see a mob of fans. A lot of the players carpooled.

I think the Canucks realize that they just have a job to do. The consecutive 5-3's made the game seem more lopsided than it was, the Sharks aren't going to go down easy. And so far they have never won an elimination game at home yet.

I understand when you're out with your family or eating the players should be off limits. We should have some respect. And we Vancouvrites are generally pretty good at that. I remember an interview with Linden saying how we are pretty respectful.

But, otherwise I think it's fair game. You're a professional athlete in the public eye. What do you expect? I mean you're living the dream of countless Canadians/boys/men. I don't think you can just expect to be like anyone else. You're not. You're someone special. And I think you have to deal with that.

And yes, after 5-10-15 years of this it probably becomes a pain in the ass. But, that doesn't matter. You should still be just as jolly as you were in your first year. I mean when it comes down to it, without fans they wouldn't have a job.

I'm not saying they owe us anything, i'm just saying that they should understand that this comes with the job.

Some players are friendlier than others towards fans. The Sedins, who I met at Metrotown some years back were very friendly/outgoing. Linden was a bit private. McLean, who I would bump into in Kerrisdale often, years ago, was also very friendly, albeit rather serious.

Burrows is a really relaxed guy off the ice, as well. Salo, while quiet, is friendly, relaxed, and comes across as a very nice guy.

i don't think that they can expect to be ignored. but a few "good luck tomorrow!" comments thrown their way shouldn't be treated with disdain. those fans impeding the cars' progress might have pushed it a bit. lining up on the side and just cheering to me is fine.

that being said, i live downtown so i see celebrities relatively often enough but i just admire them from afar. i think the only time i've ever said anything to a Canuck was to AV. Told him he coached a good game the night before. He said thanks with a smile. :)

Thing is, we'll be losing Heisinger, who is probably the best GM in the AHL. He found us beauties and monsters like Burrows and Bolduc. I go and get autographs from hockey players all the time (working on a Team Canada 2010 jersey right now), and it's not that simple unfortunately. I've found that a lot of guys won't sign because autograph dealers have ruined it for fans. These losers (and there are a LOT of them) harass the players at the hotel, the arena, the airport...All to make a buck. Now imagine that happening in 29 other cities, and for 82 games a year. I try to distinguish myself from them but sometimes they'll only sign for a handful of people and boom that's it...I mean, why sign for people when they're just trying to make a buck off you, especially when you can do a signing and make that money yourself? Other times, these guys are dead tired, or maybe had a shitty game the night before and just aren't in the mood. I'm sure most of you, even those who work with the public have come into work on the odd day with a sour attitude once in a while. These guys are human

I went to find out when jersey stores in downtown would get their Stanley Cup patches and these are the responses from 2 stores:

Vancity Sports, the jersey store right beside Granville Station has the Stanley Cup Patches in stock. $50/patch. After we eliminate the Sharks, they will stitch on the patches to the jerseys they have in stock. They will sell the patches separately, but won't stitch it for you.

Granville Sports said they won't have the patches until after the playoffs. Probably sometime in July/August.

For the black/white skate logo jerseys you should not see any stitching on the inside between the stripes on the bottom. The colors should be dyed directly onto the jersey, thus, no need for stitching.

the biggest give away for a fake jersey, is their sad attempt of a fight strap... well the knockoff orca/current canuck jerseys are pretty off in terms of lettering font, and colours as well.

Ballard has managed to keep his personal disappointment under wraps as the Canucks get closer to appearing in the Stanley Cup final for the first time in 17 years.

"You have to be a good teammate," said the soft-spoken, 28-year-old from Baudette, Min.

"You can't walk around with a bad attitude or be upset or pout. We are all pulling for the same thing.

"I am as happy as the next guy for when the guys who are playing do a great job. When we win, that's part of being a team."

Canuck coach Alain Vigneault praised Ballard's character.

"He's like the rest of the group, he wants to win," Vigneault said. "I'm sure he'd like to play on a nightly basis.

"But given circumstances, he hasn't. He's put the team ahead of himself and made sure that he stayed positive around his teammates.

"That's what we expect of him. In that situation, that's what he's given us. Now we need him to play and he played well."
