I'm not embarrassed to wear a fake jersey, only if it was a fake jersey that looked really ugly.

Some fakes are really terrible, while others are not that bad at all. Yeah, the really keen observers can still tell it's not the real deal, but most people wouldn't know the difference.

Anyways, your case wouldn't work out so well either, because one of the main differences between a real and fake is the font of the name and number... so even if you have just that much showing, it can possibly be very easily identifiable as fake.

I shaved right before R1G1 and I'm up to about an inch. Unfortunately, I can't grow "connectors" between my moustache and chin but I'm at the point where brushing it actually makes a difference. We live in one of the most expensive cities in the world. Adapt or get left behind.

OMG.. during the game the other night, I saw a couple girls with their fingernails painted blue and green. They even had a friend with them who painted his face as well. When I asked them if they used authentic Canucks approved nail polish and face paint the replied that they didn't. Can you believe these people? Talk about not real fans. They obviously don't care enough about the team.

The brace will stabilize and protect the knee, but it is a bit restrictive and uncomfortable; same with MCL, ACL, PCL. We did a brace for B-Mo when he was with the Ducks and tore his ACL. MCL/PCL injuries are almost always non-surgical for recovery. IF it is his LCL, his knee's probably swollen and a brace won't allow him to play if his ROM isn't there.

I thought ankle initially, but it was classifed a 'mid-body injury'. Could just be a smokescreen though

yeah, i heard alberts is in too. last night they were saying on 1040 that ballard is sitting out because it appears he isn't buying into the system AV wants to use in regards to our defense breaking out of the zone.

the example they used is how everyone makes that 1st pass (or chip off the boards a la Aaron Rome) on the first opportunity. ballard tends to button hook back into our zone when he doesn't like what he sees. i did notice this before last night's conversation but didn't really take note of it. now that it's been brought up, i can see why AV might dislike the disruption of the flow. as far as i can remember, ballard is the only one that circles back into our zone like this.

After hearing about Ballard not playing according to AV's system, if that's true, then I absolutely have no problem with Ballard being scratched. It's as simple as this, you don't listen to the coach, you don't play. I don't care how good any player is, but the team needs to flow as one, and if one guy's out there doing his own thing, I rather put in someone that's willing to follow instructions.

And now that this has been mentioned, I actually DO notice he's always circling back, and sometimes he's the last guy back, so it's quite dangerous if the other team has a strong forechecker.

That being said, Canucks have been winning just fine without him, so AV could care less that he's scratching a 4.2 million player.

I feel for Ballard. He is so close to Dan Boyle at times, but other times so very far away. He's nowhere near as risky as Jovanovski was in his prime. He's an offensive minded play making rushing d-man and when they don't see a play that's safe enough to make, its more natural to turn back and reset then to chip it up and out. I can see why its hard for him to adopt the stay at home mentality all the time.

On any other team he'd be a top 4 d-man, and in that role consistently I think he would fair quite well.
