Anyways, my thoughts from the game.

I thought that Morrison looked really solid out there, both offensively and defensively. Though he didn't score he generated chances and made good plays.

Schaeffar was pretty invisible, missed a wide open net once.

The Sweatt brothers were both really good imo, and Lee held his own for being so small.

Bieksa and Oberg were both pretty bad, made defensive errors and couldn't seem to make the right plays. Bieka did have one pretty good power play near the end of the game though.

Tanev was solid, nothing fancy or anything, just a good, smart d-man.

Connauton was definitely the best d-man out there tonight in my books. He didn't make many defensive errors and made good passes as well as produced many scoring chances.

Torres and Malholtra were both good, pretty much what we expect from them.

Desbiens and Oreskovich both threw a lot of good hits out there. There is definitely some competition for those 4th line spots!

Shirokov was okay, nothing special and I was expecting a lot more out of him. Had some decent scoring chances but couldn't finish.

Schneider made some unbelievable saves and played really really well. Shantz on the other hand was absolutely horrible, even if he did come in cold.

May have forgotten some things, I'll post later if I did!

Much like "Hard Knocks," this NHL series will have players wearing microphones on and off the ice and would offer an uncensored look at the Penguins and Capitals leading up to the New Year's Day game. A game between the Penguins and Capitals Dec. 23 in Washington is expected to be one of the main focuses.

A news conference to announce the series is expected today. An official from HBO declined comment. Calls and e-mails to the NHL were not returned.

Price has the skill to be a good goalie, but the pressure that comes with being the #1 goalie in Montreal is getting to him and his confidence. Last season, Price showed some of his potential and the fans chanted his name. A week later they booed him out of the arena.

If he can't learn to handle the pressure, he could probably flourish elsewhere.

Not enough grit at all for a fourth line. I don't see Schaefer cracking the lineup at all, other than his one goal his performances have been pretty sub par.

I wouldn't completely rule out Desbiens either, he was doing just what a 4th liner needs to do out there. He's terribly slow though which is a big downfall.
