The thing with the Ducks right now is they are already up against an extremely tight internal budget and they need depth. They don't want to trade Getzlaf or Perry, so Ryan is an option to bring back some depth for them. Ducks wanted Comeau on waivers but had to pass due to their internal budget and had to wait for Hagman to be put on re-entry before grabbing him.

A trade to get Ryan will likely involve quality 2nd and 3rd liners going back and maybe prospects, but their combined salaries likely won't be more than Ryans.

There's no way Bob Murray is dumb enough to get rid of either Getzlaf or Perry, so that leaves Ryan as the odd man out. I don't think there was a rift between them but it seems like Carlyle had lost the whole locker room, apparently their morning skate today was a lot more light hearted in mood!

I think all this Bobby Ryan trade talk got blown way out of proportion. Anaheim isn't exactly desperate to dump salary (despite the stupid Samueli's not wanting to spend to the cap), and while their secondary scoring is somewhat non existant :( , they don't need to trade away Ryan to get it. After next year, Selanne, Blake, and Foster are off the books, and that will free up some dough to get some good players to compliment a second line that should be built around Bobby Ryan.
