Jim Hughson is so great at commentary that by listening to him you can see the game without watching it, hes fantastic for the old-time radio commentary style. Go play hockey in even the slightest competitive setting. It can be verbal, and physical and more times far more hurtful than a goal celly. And guess what... in hockey, verbal and/or physical taunting can even be a common practice in a competitive setting that at times it's even a part of the game as a "game-within-the-game."


Hockey players (and it's fans) need to start growing a thick skin and give their balls a tug. As it is, there's more toughness in a woman's roller derby game than it is hockey's supposed top level league, the NHL.

It was hard to watch Kaberle put on a Bruins jersey last season. I'm watching him now in a Habs jersey and it just doesn't seem right at all. I haven't paid attention to the Canes really so I don't know what was going on there. A lot of people think the Canes won this trade but I think Kaberle can get his game back under the right system. It took him a long time to adjust to the Bruins' system but he started to improve by the finals.

I miss Bob Cole and Harry Neale for sure but old age got to them unfortunately. Jim Hughson is probably the best in the business right now but he does show a Western bias and can never seem to get fully behind the Leafs during a game. I can't stand Glenn Healy and I can't believe he used to be a Leaf. I was fully pissed off when he tried to claim on air that Reimer was faking an injury after the elbow to the head from Gionta which resulted in his concussion - real classy Healy. One thing I love about Hughson is when he corrects Healy's idiotic comments and makes him look like the ignorant ass he is.

Despite Hughson's bias and Healy's idiocy, I wouldn't trade them for the drones who cover the west. :sleepy:
