No, the hit by Bitz was dirty, Richards hit was clean and he was just finishing it.

Canucks lucky they only lost by one goal, they were heavily outworked and just didn't look like they in it emotionally. No persistent fore-check, no threat on the powerplay and didn't create anything off turnovers.

They will need to regroup, and have a different game plan. Having Dank back, would also help.

Just got back from the game and it honestly was one of the worst playoff games I have been to. I haven't read another other posts but you can't only play one period and expect to win. The 5min penalty by Bitz was deserved I was sitting 15rows up in the corner and it was a nasty elbow to the head.

The issue is the Canucks have no speed coming out of the zone which lets the other team setup and force more turnovers. They sit back and wait and slowly move up the ice. You can't play NHL hockey that way you have to have quick transitions to catch the other team off guard so they make mistakes and then you capitalize. Just like Bure moved up the ice back in the hay day and look the chances and goals he scored.

That being said I was hella impressed with Lu today. He played like a champ and kept us in the game when it should of been over in the first period. This is the Lu of old and if the Canucks get their act together and Lu plays this way they are unstoppable.

LA did deserve to win because they played a great game and they kept there heads cool. Yes the ref's made bad calls no question they did but this is hockey fucken suck it up play your ass off and chances and goals will come. Bitching get's a team no where and just makes the ref's look harder for you to make a small hold/hook and they will call another.

Just came back from the game.

The game was fucking brutal. If it wasn't for Luongo, it wouldn't have been as close as it is. The D hung him out to dry so many times.

I sat in 101, I remembered where there were 3 consecutive plays where a Kings player was all alone in front of Luongo. I think he made a pad save and two glove saves during that span of 30 seconds.

The entire team was literally standing and was chasing the throughout the night. Especially with our D. Hamhuis was the only guy who was playing like normal. Salo was did the best he can. But the rest was pretty brutal.

Also I think coaching staff needs to tell Kesler he is not allowed to shoot the moment he enters the offensive zone. I'm sick of his wrist shot that either gets blocked or easily saved due to no traffic in front of the net when it is a much better play to pass the puck.

Lu I thought was fantastic and the I have a hard time disputing any of those calls against the Canucks, only iffy one was Kesler's unsportsmanlike for the snow shower but I thought all the other ones where penalties. In fact I thought Lapierre got away with an interference and highstick late in the 3rd that wasn't called, so definitely don't blame the refs, in fact I thought that Burrows goal should've been called back due to goalie interference.

IMO the Canucks' lack of discipline and offense (horrid powerplay) killed them, they just need to refocus for Friday.

I think that if Zetts had been injured, yeah, there would've been a suspension. That's not the way it should be. It's the intent and act that should be judged upon. So much for protecting star players and showing that the NHL is cleaning up this sort of thing. That's not the type of thing we should have in the game.

This was clearly an intent to injure type of incident. Yes Byron Bitz drove his elbow to Clifford, 5min and game misconduct and then face hearing. I understand that, he committed the crime, he will pay. Whether that hit from Bitz had any intent to injure is yet to be seen.

While I agree that Weber's actions should have resulted in at least a 1 game suspension, the $2500 fine is the maximum the league can can hand down on a player as per the current CBA. The same CBA that is going to be renegotiated this offseason. Hopefully some positive changes will be made.
