i should add, if NYR lose a game and we finish tied in points NYR still gets 1st due to games won and even a step further with taking the season series. STL also holds the season series against the canucks, but if we finish tied in points, we will probably also finish higher in games won.

That's because there has been very little positive to say about them this year (2012). With the exception of the goaltending, which I have commended them for on this thread, what is REALLY good about the team? Higgins has been good the last few games, but that's about it.

They were outplayed pretty bad (*ducks*) except one horrible goal let in by Karlsson. Higgins had a breakaway, and Hamhuis hit the post. Aside from that, Lu kept it 1-0

My buddy and I almost got into a fight with a couple of drunk idiots on St. Patrick's Day. This fat idiot was coming back to his seat during a play and then just stood up in front of his friend to talk to him. We told him to sit down and he got all tough about it. The guys next to me told him the same. A couple of girls behind me told them to sit down too and he spat some...uh...comments at them. At this point, our entire section is angry at them.

They sit down and shut the fuck up for the third. By the time the game is almost over, they pull the same shit and so we yell at them again. Guy pushes me in the chest but he's pretty hammered, it looks like so I just tell him dead serious that he doesn't want to do that again. I was pissed at this point because I had spent probably a good 10 minutes of game time dealing with these assholes. I was going to let him take a swing at me so people would see then push him over the backs of the seats in front of him. But I guess he saw how many people in the section were yelling at him so he backed off. Cops came at the end and took them away.

Fuck St. Patrick's Day...and seriously, fuck drinking at the Canucks game. I've never understood why people drink at hockey games. I go to the game to watch...y'know, the game. Not to drink lukewarm $14 beers to the point where I can't see the puck like an American or something.

Anyone hit up the Kirk McLean signing today? Finally got the other half of the Linden/Kirk picture signed. Picked up Canucks McFarlanes for cheap too they were basically all priced at 15 which is even cheaper then if you were lucky to find it in stores.

I would be pissed as a Flames or Leafs fan.

Each of the last few years has been exactly the same. A few changes in the summer. Decent pre-season.

For the Leafs, it's a super strong first quarter...usually leading the division if not the conference or league. Then mediocre middle and downright BAD at the end. This year, they managed to get themselves sucking enough to get a high draft pick but they usually suck just enough to land outside the top 10 of the draft. This year, they're so close to the bottom of the league but somehow managed to make it in the 5th spot...and you can't get the 1st overall pick from 5th last because you can only move up 4 spots if you win the draft lottery. AMAZING, LEAFS. You always manage to suck the exact right amount to maximize how terrible your franchise is.

The Flames? Mediocre all the way through the year then a strong push with 2 months left and complete collapse at the end. Sound about right?

Both teams need to be blown up to stock the farms. There's no other move that will fix how bad they are.

They're professionals. They talk a lot of smack but if Henrik and Daniel were traded and walked into the Bruins dressing room tomorrow and said they want to join the team, they would be welcome, I'm sure.

It's business. There's lots of trash talk but seriously, most of that's for the fan experience and because emotions run high during the playoffs. But it doesn't matter who your teammates are, all the best hockey players can put that aside to win.

so if they were to play for the name in front, they would not even consider signing with a cross state rival. because theyve had their loyalties tied to the soon to be previous team.

well having said that, once they join that new rival, their loyalties are realigned. might be akward the first couple of matches, but skies are still blue and calgary still sucks

You hate everyone on the ice who is not wearing the same jersey as you...It's really that simple...If you get traded, you have a new jersey, and now have new mates, and new enemies...When you are a free agent, you no longer have a jersey, so there are no enemies. That's when you explore your options and pick whatever team is best suited for you...You don't pick whichever team you hated the least when you were wearing your previous uniform...

It's strictly just competitive nature...When you're on the ice, you HAVE to hate everyone on the other team...It's a driving force that makes you and your teammates work harder; nothing more, nothing less.

It Pissed off Laviolette when pens put their fourth line with their goon Engellend in last few minutes of the game. Don't see why Laviolette would react as bad as that though, it's normal to put out your fourth liners in a rivalry game like this as Flyers could have potentially taken a cheap shot on the Pens with just a few minutes left in the game. Pens never took any cheap shots during the entire game and after Vitale lays a completely clean hit, all the flyers come after him. Laviolette goes berserk coz Pens tried to defend themselves during the brawl............ he claimed it to be a gutless play but I call it terrible coaching on his part tbh

Didn't Kesler say he never liked Canadians, or some shit like that? Either way, that's a retarded fucking thing to say, especially since you play in a Canadian market. If this was any other player, NOT playing on the Canucks, he would have gotten lit up by everyone on this board.

Kesler, IMO, has never been good with interviews and he tends to say some stupid/awkward shit. I guess it's part of the reason why he's not captain - he doesn't deal with the media well, at all.
