Last time the senators won was in 1927, before the Canucks entered the league. The Leafs had also won before the Canucks had entered the league.

The incident happened in the third period, and Bourque received a two minute penalty for elbowing. Backstrom stayed in the game for two more shifts, but was unable to finish the contest.

that brings an interesting question...the integrity of the league. I didnt watch the final moments of the winter classic, but from the sounds of it there were a bunch of non calls and of course the penatly shot in favor of Philly.
Would it have made this television spectacle that much more entertaining? Of course it would

nothing is black and white really, and money obviously has a large say in any business. Referees work for the NHL. Lets say Gary Bettman (count chocula) holds your child hostage and threatens to kill him/her with an overdose of chocolate if you dont comply with his demands and call a phantom hook.

It's similar to a communist state not letting you voice your opinion.

Their reason is they dont want the integrity of the league to come in question with the general public.
Maybe they could have a formal way of making complaints? But of course the league will just brush them off.
