ok i have a great story! :derp: inb4coolstory bro

working out around 5 and my gym had strong wifi so i was listening team 1040 through my phone

went to the cafe inside waterfront station and there was 5 minutes left in the third. When daniel scored, this couple was beside me (there was a lot of people watching...) i said "did you see the bench jumping up and down? he was like, " i am rooting for Detroit buddy" I asked him, "don't tell me you are from Calgary..." he laughed hysterically... laughing so hard that he even placed his hand on my shoulder and patted it a few times. My face was  and he just left. He didn't even tell me where he was from :fulloffuck:

it was crazy when they scored in shootout and daniel sedin because waterfront went fucking loud each time.

Way to go Burrows!!! -love his backhand deke move in shootouts! The home game streak is over Detroit! :awwyeah:

Big saves by Luuu in the end of the third period. -would have been good to see Booth score a goal in front of his brother. Camera man kept moving the camera to show Booth's brother decked out in Canucks gear.

+1 for Vancouver and Detroit games. These teams play the game the way it's supposed to be be played. Over 70 shots.

Win in Jersey boys!

dunno why did he sign a 2 mil per year.... he knows he was worth more... maybe no one noticed him at that time? (but everyone in the fucking city knew it was a bargain!)

its called hometown discount and wanting the best chance to win the cup.

he probably knows he was taking a hit pay cheque wise, but im sure he would rather stay for a bit less and have a solid chance to win the cup.
since burrows is the type of guy that legitimately seems to care about the city/fans, i'm sure he factored that in when re-signing here. he loves the organization, his teammates and he's treated like a superstar here playing on the first line. not to sound mean, but he probably wouldn't even be playing in the NHL if we didn't give him a shot considering he wasn't drafted and nobody knew his name.

my guess is he would be making somewhere around 4M+ on any other team. roughly 20 goal scorer and does every single fucking role on the team? :fuckyea:

+1 for Vancouver and Detroit games. These teams play the game the way it's supposed to be be played. Over 70 shots.

Win in Jersey boys!

Hockey at its finest. If all teams played like them hockey in the states would be more popular.

I know it will never happen but I wish they would reward good teams like this with points. Can't watch games like canucks vs nashville because its so boring.

well... if you had been watching for more than the last couple of years, you'd know the answer to that question. we all know burrows took a discount for several reasons. not to knock burrows in the slightest, but he knows between him and the sedins, he's the icing on the cake.

1. Boston game.
2. FIRST Red Wings/Canucks game (early in the year)
3. This game.
4. Chicago (the most recent one...OT win)

That first game vs the Wings was even better than this one, I thought. That game was a gorgeous display of how good hockey can be. Play was totally end to end but not because of terrible defense...rather that the offensive talent was so high end in the game that they were creating absolutely amazing chances out of nothing.

This one was exciting because of the way it ended, which was fucking epic, but there wasn't much going on for good chunks of the game.

Once Upon A Time, Charles Wang And Mike Milbury Royally Fucked Brian Burke (http://deadspin.com/5886937/once-upon-a-time-charles-wang-and-mike-milbury-royally-fucked-brian-burke)

Once Upon A Time, Charles Wang And Mike Milbury Royally Fucked Brian Burke

In 2001, the Canucks broke camp with two goaltenders: lifetime backup Dan Cloutier, and some dude. (Martin Brochu is about as "some dude" as a pro hockey player can be. In three non-consecutive NHL seasons, he got nine starts and didn't win a single one.) It was a personnel mystery that's endured to this day, mostly forgotten because Cloutier had a decent season and Vancouver would make the playoffs. But there had to be a pretty good reason why the Canucks would start the season with a backup and a third goalie, but not a true starter. There is, and it involves old favorites like Mike Milbury and Garth Snow.

There's a new book on GMs called "Behind The Moves," and Canucks Army has pulled out a passage where then-Vancouver GM Brian Burke explains just what happened:

"Islanders GM Mike Milbury really fucked me one time on a deal where we had a handshake and he agreed. It wasn't his fault; it was the owner's fault. But we had a deal for Garth Snow right before the waiver draft, and he pulled out of the deal that morning…. I had to take Martin Brochu in the waiver draft, and people have no idea. People ask, ‘Why did you take Martin Brochu?' Because Mike Milbury fucked me on a deal…. In fact, it was right after 9/11, and I was driving over the Golden Gate Bridge going to Santa Rosa, where our team was training. I said, ‘Mike, we're all set, right?' He goes, ‘No.' I said, ‘What the fuck do you mean,"no"?' He goes, ‘Charles [Wang] doesn't want to do it.' I said, ‘Who's the GM – you or Charles?'… I said, ‘You are fucking me like you can't believe. I have no plan B here, Mike. I didn't need a plan B because I had a Plan A.' He totally fucked me, but I don't blame him. It was the owner."

Charles Wang had purchased the Islanders the year before, and didn't want to part with veteran Garth Snow. Perhaps he had long-term plans for him: in 2006, it was Snow that replaced Milbury as Isles GM.

A footnote, just to point out that no one escaped this shitshow unscathed. In the 2001 waiver draft, the same one where the Canucks landed Martin Brochu, the Islanders selected Chris Osgood. Osgood would quickly win the starting job in Uniondale, relegating Snow to the bench.

Penalty shots (that aren't just "pick-a-corner-and-shoot") are stopped usually depending whether a goalie bites on the initial fakes/dekes.
When a goalie's going one way following the puck on his knees, there's no way to suddenly change direction as fast as a player on the edge
of his skates. A goalie can desperately sprawl out, but there's still a big open net. And a lot of players are now roofing them on the backhand,
which makes doing splits less effective.

I've gone into more detail (in other forums) about this spinorama topic.
But no use of me sharing any more input here, I don't think anyone here really cares or plays goalie anyway.

I'll just say until I see it stopped, I'm not really going to leave it at a rest.

Why trade Brown? IMO, LAK like Brown as "player," not as enthused about Brown as captain. IMO, only matter of time til Mike Richards gets C.

Almost sounding like a divided locker room just like when Richards was in Philly, and now they bring in his party boy Carter? This has a good chance of blowing up in Lombardi's face, when a no drinking policy has to be instituted by your teammates for you as grown adults in order for them to show up to practices on time, not be hung over for games and not cause issues in the room..........and now Lombardi wants them to be the leaders? Why so serious man? Don't need to call out my hockey knowledge. I've been watching and playing for long enough. I see what you're saying, but I have to respectfully disagree in this case.

Burrows fake to backhand top corner is as close as things come to a sure thing. Burrows has tried his 'repertoire' of other moves enough for me to have significantly less confidence in those other moves, I'd rather him try his deke to backhand everytime even though everyone else may have the book on it. I'm obviously not going to guarantee he will put it in every single time, but odds are if he executes that move appropriately, he will put it in way more often than not.

And that is the key, that the move gets executed properly. The times that move has been stopped was when he put the forehand deke on too early and gave goalies time to move over and stop the backhand, or he fakes the forehand too late and puts himself too tight to lift the backhand over the goalie. The speed he is coming in on net is vital as well, too slow and goalie has more time to move, too fast and he loses the handle on the puck a bit or puts himself too deep to get a good angle on backhand.

Breaking down last night's shot in particular, if you watch it again, you'll see that Burrows faked the forehand shot, but Howard didn't bite on it at all. Goalies have to respect that fake forehand shot even if they know he won't shoot it. Because of the speed Burrows came in at, the ONLY thing Howard could do was kick out his left leg, extend and flop like Luongo does so often and hope that Burrows can't get it up and hits the extended pad or lowered trapper.

I see what Aznightmare is saying about the spinorama as well, and I agree. If executed properly, it is very difficult to stop because the goalie has to respect the shooter's move to forehand even if they know the spinorama is impending. If the spinorama gets backhanded up high like how Bertuzzi often does it, I would be willing to put a few bucks on the table to say that it too cannot be stopped.

Steve Ott is a better Raffi Torres. He's great at faceoffs, on the PK, a leader, throws his body around, defends his teammates and trolls other players more than Lapierre LOL

He's a much better upgrade over Raymond.

He'd also be perfect on the third line with Hodgson or a Ott-Lapierre-Burrows line.

I've been around hockey long enough to see anything and everything stopped. In hockey, there is NO SUCH THING as a sure 100% move.

Spin-o-rama is just an effective move. That's it. So is the Datsyukian deke, the Forsberg 1-hander, and the so called Burrows forehand-backhand.

And why so serious? I love the Canucks and all, but I hate it when our fans get cocky and say... this is unstoppable... that is a sure thing... the Boston Bruins are just a formality to the Stanley Cup... Chara is a pylon.... etc.

It makes us ALL look bad.

Forgive the double post but I just decided to put a little bit of effort in my argument.

Turco saves Shannon shoot out attempt - YouTube

1. Turco totally bit on that fake too and he still got it which means: (1) it's totally saveable if a goalie doesn't bite. (2) It's still saveable EVEN if the goalie bites via hailmary acrobatics.

2. Video is in 2006. So the saveability of this move isn't just a new found discovery to combat this move.

Soooooooooooooooooo we were saying? Unstoppable eh?

Here's a nice article about Luongo and his "twitter"

Canucks' Luongo revealed as Twitter jokester? (http://www.theprovince.com/sports/Canucks+Luongo+revealed+Twitter+jokester/6203043/story.html)

Mystery surrounds Canucks nation today as word broke that Roberto Luongo might have a secret Twitter account.

It all started when Ryan Kesler innocently tweeted yesterday "If your (sic) looking for some laughs follow @strombone1 guy is a beauty".

Instantly, Canucks nation was intrigued: Ryan Kesler is not known for having the most interesting tweets, nor does he often reveal much about himself. Suddenly Ryan Kesler was telling his 134,000 followers to follow some-one on twitter? This was not familiar. This was like opening Pandora's Box for Canucks fans, they had to know more.

Immediately people began trying to figure out who @strom-bone1 could be. The first clue they jumped on was the fact it had the No. 1 in the username.

This pointed the eyes firmly on the Canucks starting goalie, Roberto Luongo. Initially this seemed too easy, on par with the Spaceballs combination of "12345." But digging further, the pieces seemed to slowly fall into place and the case that it could be Roberto Luongo's twitter account seemed stronger and stronger. Consider the following:

? Sept. 23 @strombone1 tweeted: "U know it's been a long online poker shift when ur listening to Michael Jackson on your iTune playlist!!!" Roberto Luongo is a noted online poker fanatic and has even appeared in BC Lotto ads for poker.

? An online website called www.pocketfives. com has a forum where one member claims "strombone1" is Roberto Luongo's online poker handle.

? Nov. 1 @strombone1 tweeted: "The other day I told my 3 year old daughter to stop acting fresh. She told me: daddy I'm fresh and ur not cuz ur stale!!! Quite impressive!!" This is in line with Luongo as he also has a young daughter Gabriella who was born March 27, 2008. That would put his daughter at the age of 3 at the time of this tweet.

? On Nov. 1 @strombone1 also tweeted: "I've taken longer bath-room breaks than Kim K's wed-ding-. No seriously, ask any-one!!!!!"

As any Canuck fan can tell you, there is one player on the Canucks who is famous for having a long bathroom break.

Roberto Luongo was stuck in an extended washroom break during Game 5 of the 2nd round of the 2007 Stanley Cup Playoffs against the Anaheim Ducks. Just about as long as Kim Kardashian's marriage.

? @strombone1 tweets Nov. 8: "Staszko just informed the dealer that he has a hair appointment at super cuts in 20 mins! #WSOPfun-facts". Yet another poker reference that points to the fact this could be the account of the card loving Luongo.

? Gerry Dee recently interviewed Roberto Luongo and asked him if he followed him on twitter, and Luongo admitted to having a twitter account. @strom-bone1 only follows 64 people. Gerry Dee is one of them. Basically 20 per cent of the accounts followed are former Canucks or people Luongo has known in real life at some point in time.

Add it all up, and it certainly appears as though it legitimately is Roberto Luongo's twitter account.

If this is indeed the case, it brings up a very interesting fact; Roberto Luongo is a pretty funny guy. What has the public witnessed from Roberto during his tenure with the team?

We have seen a man who has been distant, uptight, and nervous up until the last couple of years when he finally became more relaxed and at ease with his media obligations. Not once would you say to yourself: "I bet that guy is hilarious when the cameras turn off".

If you look through the 172 tweets @strombone1 has tweeted, you will see a person with wit, humour, and a person who is not afraid to reveal intimate details about him-self.

Case in point, on October 17th, @ strombone1 tweeted: "Damn you Stefano Demera-How could u? Sorry for the rant- Gut wrenching episode of days of our lives today!!! : - )"

Roberto Luongo a fan of soap operas? Could it be? His viewing habits don't just stop with soaps, however, as there are several tweets about the infamous Jersey Shore show on MTV.

@strombone1 is apparently a big fan of the Jersey Shore and enjoys poking fun at cast member Snoo-ki. At one point @strombone1 tweets: "Trying to figure out who Snooki's baby daddy is and I've narrowed to--EVERYONE!!!!!" Roberto Luongo taking shots at a Jersey Shore cast member? Where was this during the Boston series? Imagine Luongo tweeting: "I've finally discovered why the refs aren't giving us any calls. Gregory Campbell told on us to his dad!!!!!" The reaction alone from the East would have been worth the price of admission.

Aside from the TV viewing habits of @strombone1, we also find someone who enjoys cracking jokes left and right.

At one point @strombone1 tweets: "I sometimes wish they would make those brushes by the toilet a little softer on the skin!" and then another time says "my left armpit smells like fish-.Does that mean anything???"

If this turns out to be Roberto Luongo's twitter account it only leaves us with one question: Does he have the guts to keep it going? Tweeting anonymously is one thing. But a twitter account that is publicly known as his account, though? That is a different situation.

One hopes, however, that Luongo embraces this account, if it is his. He should continue to tweet and showcase his personality.

In today's NHL where bland answers and cliché responses are par for the course, it would be refreshing to see more of the players' true personalities leak into the game.

I know it's a tall order to ask that of Luongo in this market, but for a player who can be such a lightning rod for criticism, showing people that he is just a regular guy like everyone else would be a good thing. As @strombone1 himself says: "I just sh*t my pants!" Wait, OK, so maybe that wasn't as inspiring as we hoped-

Wyatt Arndt is a member of The Province's Legion of Blog. For more on Luongo's tweeting and more from the L.O.B., head to theprov-ince.com/legionofblog or follow Arndt on Twitter @thestanchion.

Turco saves Shannon shoot out attempt - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKIIWMBD43A)

I think the key to UFO's argument is that the move gets executed properly. If Shannon roofed it on the backhand, Turco's chances of saving it are even slimmer. He would have to block it with his goalie stick in mid air!

Price is too expensive to acquire Brown in the deadline.

I think it would be a salary dump to make room for Carter. They said it could take 2 decent prospects + 2nd round pick which isn't too bad for osmeone like brown.

Desperate times.

People seem to forget Philly made the finals with Carter and Richards as the heart of the offense. And why so serious? I love the Canucks and all, but I hate it when our fans get cocky and say... this is unstoppable... that is a sure thing... the Boston Bruins are just a formality to the Stanley Cup... Chara is a pylon.... etc.

It makes us ALL look bad.

Forgive my exaggeration. I'll start saying that Burrows backhand deke is a probable goal instead of unstoppable if that makes you feel better. It's not like Burrows is the only player doing this move. How many times has Lu been beaten on the same move, both to catcher and blocker side? I'll maintain that this move, which I'll call the Burrow's patented backhand, is 'damn-near' unstoppable as long as its properly executed. Any player is free to use it royalty free to Burrows.

I'm not sure how you lead from a sure thing shoot out move to sure thing Stanley Cup, the fact you draw that conclusion makes you as a fan look bad. Don't worry so much about how my lack of hockey knowledge makes you as a fan look bad, just focus on making yourself look like a good fan.

For the Shannon/Turco spinorama, I'll say that instead of Turco saving a stoppable move, Shannon got lazy and didn't finish by getting the puck up even 6" off the ice, let alone roofing it. He also started his spin a bit early and gave Turco time to barely make the desperation move. I don't consider a shot or move saveable if the goalie has to make a hail-mary move and hope that the shooter shoots into his body or stick. Just like how you think the Burrows backhand is not a sure thing, Turco's playing of the spinorama also does not ensure a save. So this way of playing the spinorama is NOT the textbook way to play it, there is no textbook way to stop it and still respect the shooter's options, Turco just happened to be lucky this time.

I think the key to UFO's argument is that the move gets executed properly. If Shannon roofed it on the backhand, Turco's chances of saving it are even slimmer. He would have to block it with his goalie stick in mid air!

Exactly. But that is still technically 'saveable', Turco could have stuck his stick in the air and the puck could have hit it, however improbable. IMO the spinorama properly executed is as close to a sure thing as Burrows backhand deke is. But for Noir's sake, I'll have to say highly probable.

1) Notice how early Shannon performs the spinorama. He's still near the faceoff circle.
2) Note that he performs the spin before even cutting across half way of the net, meaning the goalie doesn't commit to sliding across as much.

If Shannon executed it properly like every other player, the puck would have been long in the net before Turco's desperate attempt to sprawl out.

Since 2006, a save was made on this butchered attempt.
Not sure have there been one since, if you even want to count this one.

Carter and Richards are both human. They've made mistakes in the past and they are now given a chance to make good on their previous blunders. Besides, you don't mess with Sutter when he's the coach. We all knew the kind of player Lapierre was before he came here and he's much better sorted now. If you were Carter, you would know this is his last chance at being a high-level player that is wanted by any team.

To me, this was a pretty good trade for the Kings, all things considered. They still have a goaltender that they can use in a trade and they can reunite two players who have good chemistry together.

I agree with UFO and Azn.

The goalie has to respect the shot. If goalie cheats to plays the deke or spin then shooter has great chance shooting. If not than the fake has high chance of success. Best if the shooter is coming in with speed and has a decent reach. Just because a goalie knows the move doesn't mean he can stop it. I'll take 50% any day. And if he didn't try his other less successful methods, % would prob be higher.

Why? was my explanation and logic too hard to understand?

Using the NHL card is like saying nothing in here is credible, unless someone in here actually does play in the NHL??

And a lot of players are now roofing them on the backhand,
which makes doing splits less effective.

I've gone into more detail (in other forums) about this spinorama topic.
But no use of me sharing any more input here, I don't think anyone here really cares or plays goalie anyway.

I'll just say until I see it stopped, I'm not really going to leave it at a rest.

I'm not saying someone needs to play in the NHL to be credible, but you've only started to play goal for a few years so you don't need to be so headstrong with your opinions.

My brother played at the BC Wintergames as a goalie and my dad played div 1 as a goalie out at 8 rinks. I grew up in a hockey home. I've been playing hockey for over 20 years so take this with a grain of salt if you like.

In the pissing match between you and Noir, both of you guys share some valid points and some misguided assumptions.

You claim players on only starting to roof backhand shots now. That is not true. Mats Sundin's go to move is similar to Burrow's forehad deke backhand shot. He used it against his former team to win the shootout for the Nucks in his last game against the Leafs.

Shootouts is like poker in a way. You don't know what the shooter is going to do, but you do know their tendencies from past history. If Burrows used his move 5 times in a row, and is sucessful, this will open up the net on the blocker side as goalies may start cheating that way. Imagine next time, he comes in and instead does a quick snapshot short side top shelf or 18 inches off the ice?

MayRay used the spin-o-rama move successfully then followed up with the backhand deke move. Though unsucessful, JSG was in a position to move laterally waiting for MayRay's first move which opened up his 5 hole.

Edler is a good example. 50%, he is 3 for 6 coming in and using that quick shot. As a goalie, I would think that he would eventually try a deke move but WHEN? The next shootout attempt? Never? Does he have hands of stone and cannot dangle?

You guys can argue all you want, no move is stopable because not all players can execute the same move perfectly 100% of the times. Factors like shitty ice condition can play a role.

If Shannon wanted to roof it on the back hand, he would need the puck pulled in a lot closer to his body on his spinorama, and not reaching out to edge of his reaches.

It's either, you spin tighter but you're not baiting the goalie as wide as you want, or you get the goalie going wide by baiting him far and just barely sweep the puck in at the edge of your reach.

It's kind of like the Forsberg 1 hand slider. It's such a wide deke because not only are you on one hand, but you're on hand hand because you're trying to extend your reach to just barely control the puck. (and by barely, i mean just guiding the puck across the line).

Imo it was a pretty unintellegent statement to make and Noir debated it pretty well (maybe went alil too serious) but i totally agree with Noir.

Now my 2 cents on the original comment which was made by UFO whichi cant find atm. Burrows move being unstoppable? Its not unstoppable but its a pretty hard move to stop thats for sure. Now questioning why Burrows would use other moves other than his patented backhand shelf is just nonsense. Ur basically saying Burrows should use that move every single time. He may as well say to the goalie, "im going backhand shelf, now try and stop that". He has to have other moves to keep the goalie guessing or his so called unstoppable move will become stoppable every single time

UFO

^More or less what I'm trying to say, I'm just seeing it differently. My saying its unstoppable is an exaggeration, I'll own up to that. You've agreed its a difficult move to stop even if the goalie knows its coming, so it cannot become a stoppable move everytime even if the goalie knows its coming. I'd rather a shooter play a pretty hard move to stop every single time, than try something new just to see if it will work, and many times it won't. Leave the experimenting in the practices.

If goalie plays that move and cheats too much, he leaves way too much net exposed for the shooter to take advantage of, which should leave somebody with Burrows shooting ability to pick pretty easy. When a shooter is coming in, the shooting option is always there if he sees the goalie cheat to the deke. If goalie is square and not cheating, forehand fake backhand shelf will go in 9 out of 10 times because the goalie must respect the shot. So this one move, really gives the shooter 2 options. When Burrows tries his other moves, it is just to change up his book but gives him a worse chance at scoring than the backhand shelf move.

Anyhow enough goalie and shootout talk for the week. Changing topics, apparently LA tried to get Nash AND Carter. I wonder what the package going the other way would have looked like. In this salary cap day and age, we seldom see such huge blockbusters anymore :(

I remember a year or two back, Bernier was touted as the goalie the Kings wanted ong term, and Quick was just a very good stopgap until Bernier developed. I don't follow the Kings closely, but it seems Bernier didn't have the same opportunities that Rask did, and Schneider has been managed and developed really closely by the Canucks obviously. I didn't think Rask was available on the market, as Thomas doesn't appear to be a long term solution in Boston. What other good youngish starting calibre goalies are available? Tampa needs a goalie bad too, and have needed one all season long. Too bad they let Mike Smith go last year, he's having a good year this season

Playing behind a team like the Canucks vs. the Kings also plays a big role in any talented young goalie's development.

Kings Still Shopping

Following Jeff Carter's trade to the Los Angeles Kings, the team appears to still have several irons in the fire according to TSN Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie.

McKenzie, who was on the NHL on TSN panel on Thursday night, said that the Kings were still talking to a number of teams about their goaltender Jonathan Bernier in their quest to add another forward. McKenzie also stated that the captain of the team, Dustin Brown is also a player that could get moved.

McKenzie reports that the teams with the highest level of interest in Brown are Boston, Buffalo, Edmonton, New Jersey, New York Rangers, Philadelphia, Toronto and Vancouver.

The Final Push on Hemsky and Nash?

TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger reported late on Thursday that the Edmonton Oilers are making a final push toward re-signing forward Ales Hemsky - with a two-year, $10 million offer on the table. Dreger stated that there is still a lot of teams interested in the forward if the Oilers can't make a deal.

Dreger also reports that the Maple Leafs are going to push Columbus for a decision on Rick Nash, and would like to know by Saturday which way they will go. He says the New York Rangers will likely do the same, and that Kings forward Brown is the Plan B.

Talking Points

ESPN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun says a source told him that the Kings actually made an offer at one point for both Rick Nash and Jeff Carter, but settled for just Carter. He also agrees that there are many suitors for L.A.'s Dustin Brown and the Stars' Steve Ott, and mentions that Dallas is also interested in James van Riemsdyk.

Blue Jackets Not Done Yet

According to the Columbus Dispatch's Aaron Portzline, the fact that the Blue Jackets dealt Jeff Carter on Thursday does not impact the market for Rick Nash, who is still available for the right price. Portzline also reports that the Edmonton Oilers have expressed interest in defenceman Marc Methot, who is under contract through the 2014-15 season.

Wanting to Stay

Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer states that Flyers forward James van Riemsdyk, who is believed to be on the trade market, wants to stay with the team.

"This is where I want to be," van Riemsdyk said.

Over the Moen

The Canadian Press states that Montreal Canadiens forward Travis Moen, who is set to become a free agent on July 1, is unavailable. Moen is currently on injured reserve.

I think next year TSN is going to provide trade deadline "week" coverage instead of the actual day. Come Monday.. all the big names are gonna be gone LOL

preds run on a cap set by the owners so i doubt its a move for next year as they could bury him in the minors if they needed cap next year/ trade in offseason. would be a move for this year.

As per VanCanucks tweet.. I think salo is out for todays game. Probably to give him a breather
#Canucks D: 2-3. 41-23. 29-8.

#Canucks #Devils faceoff is not until 4:25pm on #TEAM1040... A slight delay as New Jersey honours Mike Emrick
