"Thanks"
What a fucking loser
How about when I went to the Phoenix Forum adult show, like 3-4 days in Scottsdale, Arizona, and I had a $5000 video camera before smart phones when a camera was a BIG deal.
I recorded the Lightspeed Girls jumping naked on a trampoline, with Scottsdale PD in the frame standing at the edge of the giant auditorium it was filmed in clearly in the shot.
When I landed off the airplane in Vancouver, I was asked why I was in Arizona, and, I was just honest. I went for a business trip.
"What business?"
"Oh, I sell porn on the internet"
Haha. Should have just said "IT"
I was accused of filming minors and CBSA held me for like 10 hours and had multiple people grill me, threaten me with strip search, and call me all sorts of names. I finally lost it and said "Fuck ya'll are faggots, I'll pull my pants down right now and each one of you can look into my asshole all you want. Fucking faggot punk bitches." I started calling the CBSA women ugly fat trolls. I dared them to hold me and charge me. I said those women are 100% of age, and there were American cops on site WATCHING them jump on the trampolines. They threatened me with everything to get me to admit to some sort of crime. When I walked out of there, I fucking knew those fucking dipshits, fat bitches, and faggots were 100% jealous some young punk like myself had a fat new camera, a fat wallet, and just came back from a funny vacation where some porn chicks were jumping naked on a trampoline in front of like 200+ people.
Fuck those fucking nerds. Fuck the police. Fuck the CBSA. People who get into those jobs ALWAYS abuse their power because they don't like someone personally. OH NO I WAS YOUNG AND RICH AND HAVING FUN, I GUESS I HAVE TO BE PUNISHED BY FUCKING NERDS.
You know those losers as adults lined up like sheep for the COVID vaccine.

You're wrong, law enforcement had one of the highest percentages of vaccination hesitancy of any group. As much as 40%! They're also mostly "You can't tell me what to do!" types.
Though that number fell significantly if they had post secondary education of any sort.
See, you do have something in common with them after all :)
Also not surprisngly, they had an abnormally high number of Covid deaths.

Oh, and seriously bro, don't even try and tell me COVID was deadly for anyone under 70 who wasn't already sick dude. I'm unvaccinated, took 0 precautions, I was fatter, drank constantly, smoked constantly, wore no mask, went out as much as possible to TRY and get COVID... and once I had it... was milder than a hangover. COVID wasn't shit. When I had swine/bird flu in 2009, that was waaaaaaay worse.
COVID didn't even make me cough. It was so mild for my whole family. It has been 3+ years now with 0 re-infection and no vaccine, 0 precautions. Same with my kid and my baby momma. Thank fuck we never took that poison shot.
Some people are STILL boosting, STILL masking. My God, you'd have to be so Reddit-brained.

You clearly don't know many cops. They are the most mainstream, establishment dick-sucking group of people ever. I only know one cool cop, and he keeps his redpilled mind totally on a shelf because the RCMP is full of people who snitch on each other constantly. I knew him for a decade before he became a cop, and he was a bad ass trouble maker just like me. My own brother wanted to become an RCMP officer himself, and he is the polar opposite of me.

So many of the best people throughout the ages were considered nuts. It is the normal people that history forgets. You know, fortune favours the bold and all that.
"Here's to the crazy ones..."
Life is easy if you work a 9-5 job, have a plain fat wife, watch the Canucks, and vote red or vote blue. The elite class relies on those types to do their bidding and keep the status quo. You can also rebel if you want, but the system will make sure you still colour within the lines.

Some reviews:
"This book was so poorly written and had a garbage plot. The author is seriously lacking in writing skills. I think his homophobic rants and threats on social media also do not help this book in any way"
"Have you ever read a book so bad you want to stop but if you do it would feel like the author won? Yeah, I fell into that trap with this one. Do yourself a favour and don't even bother with this tripe."
280 pages of garbage
"The worst book I've ever read. Weak writing, poorly constructed plot, weak characters. The author should compensate anyone who wasted time on this trash."
Horribly written, unimaginative, and infantile.
"This "book" is what happens when an incel gets a publisher. It was a painfull read, and feels a bit like a cry for help. Don't waste your money."
The worst book ever written
"This book was left in a cottage rental my family used in August. I had forgotten my book at home so I picked it up and read about a quarter of it before realizing this is possibly the worst book ever written. I thought it would be unkind to leave it for someone else to waste an hour on so we used it as kindling, which it was great for."
That last bit made me chuckle the most.

My 1st book was 100% right about the future of dating.
People are lonelier, dating is more transactional, situationships are now common, and people are much more unsatisfied with apps than ever before.
The word "incel" was hardly even a thing back in the 00's or 2010's, rising fast in the lexicon as dating itself was gamified and people lost their social skills.
Birth rates plummeted and phone apps have killed much of the serendipity that made dating fun.
Talk shit about my books all you want, I was right. That book itself lead me to have my child with the most beautiful, smart, and kind woman from a rich family of doctors. I'd say that things worked out great and I have no regrets.

any free car swag at the show!?
I did not check out all the exhibitors at the show so I do not know if there is any free swag.
-only spent 30 minutes at the show as part of my lunch break from work haha.
My gosh, the line up to get into the convention centre was so long! It was at least a two block line up of people before the 12pm opening time.
Beware of the sales reps at the GM exhibit! Women kept asking people to fill out a contest form on their tablets for a "chance" to win $75,000 credit to buy an American car.
I made a detour away from the GM area to go straight to the exotic cars haha.
Hobz, there is a sick MC20 coupe near the front entrance of the show.
A two tone yellow and black Maserati.
I only sat inside the GR Corolla and the Prius. The starting MSRP price of $51,391 for the GR Corolla is way overpriced for a 3 cylinder hatchback.
I wish that I had more time to be at the show. -no time to sit inside the VWs.
The biggest surprise for me was seeing Mercedes have a booth at the show. The Best or Nothing is their slogan?
Well, their booth was not the best but it was not nothing haha.
Putting the G580 on some fake steep terrain did make their booth stand out a bit from other manufacturers. I'll give them some credit for creativity.

Pardon my ignorance, but what's the point of a car show normally? I'm trying to understand how something like this would be profitable for the organizer or the vendors. Surely these shows don't make money, do they? Is it purely just a form of Marketing?
Or are these shows super successful and there's absolutely a net benefit from being there? I suspect there has to be a benefit because this show happens every year.
(Thanks for the pictures btw, they were cool to see)

My guess is that the Vancouver Auto show is a way for car manufacturers and some dealers to market their products and generate some sales?
I did notice "sales lead" forms at the Dilawri Mercedes display. Perhaps Dilawri decided to bring Benz back to the Auto Show as a way to help generate potential sales?
When I was at the Toyota display, I saw some Toyota staff asking people if they are interested in test drives of any vehicles at that display.

It's marketing. Some people who are car shopping can just look at everything new in the same space instead of dealership hopping. Some people are excited about new tech, new engineering.
It's 100% marketing and definitely translates into sales.

Hey Jason can you post up the copy for free? I'll read all 280 pages of it. If I buy it, there's a money aspect so I might just hate it because I paid for it. If you post it up for free, it's unbiased.
I want to believe that it's not as bad as the reviews say it is. I see two four star reviews from other countries.. what's funny about this is when I used to pitch Google MyBusiness management packages, we told people that 5 stars are worse than 4 stars due to authenticity.

I went to the auto show yesterday - it's spring break and it was something to do with the kid (she had a great time climbing into everything and pushing all the buttons) - the ticket was $11 for me but it's a shell of what it used to be. It's not even half as big as it was when it moved to the convention centre.
No Honda/Acura, no Mazda, no BMW, no Mercedes, no Porsche (the Porsche club was there though), no Stellantis (nobody misses them though).
I got to check out a few cars that I've been interested in though - the Crown Signia, the EV9, EV5 (that thing will sell like mad when it shows up), the Nautilus.
I wouldn't have otherwise gone if my kid was in school but it was interesting to see some cars that I otherwise would never look at and/or make general observations about cars like...
- The Maverick is pretty neat, they do a nice job of cost cutting.
- Rear load floors keep moving up and up and up. I was surprised at how small a lot of SUV trunks were and it made me appreciate Honda's packaging (and the trunk of my RDX) a lot more.
- Ride heights for ICE cars keep going up too especially for Subaru, GM, and Ford. It's become a competition to make their cars harder to climb into. EVs, OTOH, are getting lower to the ground which is great.
- Door panels and trim pieces for commodity brands seem to be getting cheaper and cheaper for the brands that were there. Honda and Mazda are way ahead of the other brands in terms of quality
- 3rd row access in SUV really sucks ass. We need to replace them with minivans that are a size smaller than the Odyssey/Sienna.
- The Ioniq5 didn't change their seat design in the refresh which is the deal breaker for me. I love everything about it except for the seats, they fit my wife and I terribly.
- I hated the new Murano. I think it's ugly and the view out is terrible. Material quality is much improved but it didn't feel premium which is what they were aiming for.

I went to the auto show yesterday - it's spring break and it was something to do with the kid (she had a great time climbing into everything and pushing all the buttons) - the ticket was $11 for me but it's a shell of what it used to be. It's not even half as big as it was when it moved to the convention centre.

Mercedes was at the auto show in the form of the dealership display from Dilawri. Their corporate display is not at the show, again haha.
I only noticed the electric G wagon, G580, on the fake steep terrain at their display.
If I had more time during my lunch break from work, I would have gone to the VW display to check out the electric hippy van. The ID.Buzz.
-had a quick glance at the two tone, white and blue ID.Buzz at VW.
-sat inside the GR Corolla. -decent interior.
The manual version of the GR Corolla at $51,391, and of course the automatic, are way overpriced for a 3 cylinder engine.

Crossing the border was fine, no issues, wasn't charged duty.
Coming back on the Canadian side the CBSA gal was a little spicy, asked more questions than usual, but other than that it was totally fine.
There is literally no one coming back on the Canadian side, four windows were open, not a single car going through any of them, quickest border return I've ever had.
That's the only thing I'd be careful about if you're bringing anything back you don't want to declare, those CBSA agents looked bored as fuck.

I've never imagined myself being a pick up truck guy, but somehow I like the Maverick, and it actually seems likes a pick up truck I can live with. It would definitely come in handy during some of my IKEA trips.
Are the ever taller rear load floors a result of the manufacturer packing the (hybrid) batteries in the trunk? or is that a function of the cars getting taller ride heights?
Back in Jan or something, there was a promo to get 1/2 price tickets to the auto show. I didn't realize at the time that the auto show was taking place during Spring Break. Otherwise, I would have bought tickets and take a vacation day to bring my kid to the show too. Would have been a fun family thing to do.

Same, it's definitely a neat little thing. It's basic but perfectly fine for an urban car and similar money to a Civic. If I ever needed a pickup this would be an easy choice.

It didn't seem like it - the worst offenders (that I can remember) were the Murano and Nautilus. In a number of cases it was for a subwoofer (Murano) or spare tire.
I forgot to mention - I totally do not get what people see in Subaru's SUVs. They are so meh. No power, pretty ugly, and not particularly nice inside. Other than the outdoorsy sales pitch I see nothing good about them.

Klarna, the buy now, pay later lender that’s headed for an initial public offering, said on Thursday that it’s signed on DoorDash as a partner, another sign of momentum for public market investors.
It’s DoorDash’s first BNPL alliance in the U.S. and gives users of the restaurant delivery service a new way to pay for meals and products. Klarna said in a press release that DoorDash customers will be able to pay in full at checkout, split payments into four equal interest-free installments, or defer to dates that align conveniently with payday schedules.

At this rate there’s gonna be financing at grocery stores
i have a 2019 forester and i love it. put some a/t tires on it and it can pretty much go anywhere.. i take it on rugged FSRs to get to trailheads, it goes uphill in snowy conditions no problem, even a 3 years ago when we had like 9" of fresh snow i was driving through unplowed parking lots (mind you i have a small lift on mine).
but best of all the rear cargo is pretty big with the seats down. i regularly take 2x material up to 8' long (even 9' before) and all sorts of building materials in it. bagged gravel, concrete, etc... since i know it's a rugged car i treat it as such and i dont cry over scuffs on the inside plastic wheel well areas. it's been an incredibly practical car for me.
sure you could do a lot of this with a rav4 or any suv but i just feel like the forester is just slightly better at this stuff than its competitors.

Maverick is amazing but pricey if you more than a work truck.
- XL AWD Hybrid + tow and safety package = 41k ... or same as Hybrid Civic these days.
- XLT AWD Hybrid, heated mirror, heated seats, tow package, and driver assist = 46k.
- Lariat with Adaptive cruise and non cloth seat = 50k.
After 9k EV incentive & employee pricing, XLT lightning was 57k MRSP. Less from an Alberta dealer that needs to sell EVs to get Diesel 250/350 allocations.
- Add $4-6000 value with included charger installation AND a charger that can do home power backup with the lightning
- Net 52k + $13 in gas savings per 100km compaerd to maverick
plenty of room back there for scissoring!
unless you need a truck all the time i dont see why you would ever buy one. the occasional trip to home depot to pick up plywood or landscaping materials at the garden center can't be worth having a truck for. just get that stuff delivered for like $75 a few times a year.

I mean it's the RAV4 hybrid system paired with a reasonable interior (unlike the tiny Tacoma) and a bed that allows you to put dirty stuff in it.
Unlike the RAV4, you can actually get a hybrid Maverick without waitlist too.
i had an employee who did it all the time. i think he was getting paid like $20/hr at the time and he would order like $25 lunches every day. youngest employee we ever had so i guess its just a generational thing. even if you cant cook for whatever reason just pack a tv dinner or instant noods and save an hour of your wages ffs.

Pickup didn't make any sense until EV pickups came along. I second Astul's comments, if you are after a Maverick, might as well just go with a Lightning.
The idea is that you can have all that utility all the time. And the mileage on a single charge would be more than enough for regular city driving.
In one of those once-a-year-or-two trips where you need to drive beyond the battery and you couldn't wait, just rent a truck or something.
That's why CT was so convincing for me. All the utilities of a pickup and none of its downsides. CT is incredible if you could afford one. The Foundation Series now has free SC for the life of the vehicle, which IMO is a great deal for people who drives enough.
But if not, Lightning is great for its price. One of the contractors that worked on my house converted his entire fleet of pickups (8 of them) to a mix of 6 Lightning and 2 CT and he said the fuel saving alone made sense for the jump as they averaged almost 3 tanks per truck every week and used to budget $15000 in fuel alone.

IMO Hybrid AWD or bust because midsize and compact trucks NEVER get any better mileage than full sizers.
With the 2.0T you'd get 9-11L when a full sized turbo V6 gets 13-14.
With the hybrid you'll see like 4-5L which makes the size and small bed tradeoff worth it.
Truck trims:
Ford XL = Toyota L (fleet)
XLT = LE (adds like power seats maybe)
Lariat = Limited (leather, sound system)
F150 specific (tbh they do a terrible job compared to RAM)
Platinum = Lexus Premium (rear heated seats, pano roof)
King Ranch = Luxury (rustic, semi aniline leather)
Limited = Ultra Luxury (massaging seats)
Tremor = TRD Off Road
Raptor = TRD Pro but with an actually good engine
if you are after a Maverick, might as well just go with a Lightning.

Yep. If you're used to a Highlander or Sienna size, just bite the bullet and get the full size EV.
The larger midsize like Rivian and Colorado don't rly have space for adults to squeeze by a set of child seats in the back.
In one of those once-a-year-or-two trips where you need to drive beyond the battery and you couldn't wait, just rent a truck or something.
TBH the Silverado/Sierra are ready for prime time.
Giant 200kw battery, 300km+ even in extreme cold, towing, etc.
260kW avg charging and 30 mi topoff, 130kW even if battery is ice cold.
The Lightning and Cybertruck are more like 40-50 minutes 10-80% and 130kW average.
In the hella cold, gonna have some problems with a 60kW charge rate.

Are you one of those that tries to park a F150 in a small car spot?
Not saying it's impossible but a F150 is a tight squeeze even in some parts of the PC parking lot, particularly the exits.
Have you tried navigating any of the London Drugs plazas?
To say our roads and parking lots of built with pickups in mind is such a wrong blanket statement thing to say. Even Seattle isn't well setup for a F150 sized vehicle in a lot of places.

i literally saw a cybertruck going around the crystal mall parking labyrinth a few weeks ago. no way in hell that guy actually got a spot unless he went straight all the way down to the bottom. also even getting to the bottom there is really hard with a big car because the ramps are always packed with cars going both ways.

It was...ok? Big trunk, big backseat, looks quite nice in person (love the wagon-like profile) but I was a bit surprised at how relatively small the front was and I didn't think it was a nice as advertised (I read a lot about it being near-Lexus in quality). The seating position in the front is very sedan-like (the floor is close to the seat bottom) but the length of the seating area was short like an SUV and the sightlines out were more SUV like so it felt a bit awkward. I'm sure I'd used to it over time (and I'd find a better seat adjustment) but I felt my RDX was packaged better in the front.
I can't put my finger exactly on why it wasn't as nice as I expected - maybe it was b/c I had just sat in the Murano which felt a bit nicer/more special (I didn't like the Murano's interior design though - just had nicer materials). Toyota isn't great at having flair in their design so maybe that was it. I definitely expected window shades in the back though and was disappointed that they don't have it.

If you have a detached home, a pickup is almost a must imo.
Also a 5.0 coyote F150 gets better mileage than my G37 so the fuel economy argument isn’t really one lol.
Newer half ton pickups are much nicer to drive than boxy, rigid, SUV’s like the CX5 etc.

Are you on a 5.5 ft bed? Our 8 ft beds with 6 speed get 21L/100km. The 10 speeds get 17.

IMO fairly good steering on the CX-5 but the ride is kinda flinty and unsubstantial.
By the numbers, both RAM and Lightning have the same 300ft skidpad grip as CX-5 Turbo despite having double the weight and low rolling resistance/all terrain tires.
Domestics feel very linear, predictable, and easy to drive at full throttle/brake/ripping down Sea to Sky at 130ish.
In the last 10 yrs, power, tow ratings and payload have doubled, along with RAM coil suspension really making everyone improve brakes, stability, and comfort.
(Except the Tundra, Tacoma, and Titan - all 3 drive like garbage even in newest iteration)

Full size p/ups in the city are just obnoxious - we are absolutely not built to support them. They hog road ways (forcing others to make way for them), they take up 2 parking spots in many cases (or force others not to park next to them), they kill pedestrians at a higher rate than ever before, and with their ever growing weight they do more damage to our infrastructure (and they don't pay for it).
In 1990 a F150 regular cab was 197" long, 79" wide, and 70" tall and the smallest F150 you can get today is 209" long, 80" wide, and 76" tall (231" for a SuperCrew, the most common size). They're just ridiculous now - even some of my contractors are downsizing to Tacomas and Colorados instead, they're as big as the old full-sizers.
Edit: I'm not against their existence or people owning them - there's a time and place for them. If I lived out in the sticks, had car/boat I needed to tow etc then sure. Living in the city with 1 kid with no boat/car? No fucking way.

-speaking of vehicles, this guy wants Ford to buy back a defective hybrid haha:
The guy's mistake is buying a Ford SUV:
https://vancouver.citynews.ca/2025/03/21/bc-ford-escape-hybrid-defective-buy-back/
Jason Turner bought a new Ford Escape plug-in hybrid from a dealership in Penticton in April of last year.
The Kelowna man says in December, the automaker issued a safety recall for a defective battery.
I could lose motive power, increasing my risk of crash, and there is also the potential of thermal venting which could cause my battery to catch on fire,” Turner told 1130 NewsRadio.
Ford is asking affected drivers to avoid using the plug-in charge feature of their vehicles until the automaker is able to roll out a fix for the issue. Ford anticipates this could happen within the next three months.
Turner says that has effectively disabled the EV mode of his hybrid.
Turner says he’s been back and forth between Ford Canada and the dealer, Bannister Ford, but he is not happy with the answers he has been given, or his gas bill.

The G37 is hardly a poster child for fuel economy :lol
If we really get into it the VQ is obscene with how poor it's economy is.
It's not really much wider which is where a lot of problems arise while driving regularly.
They are much much longer though which makes street parking and navigating tight corners challenging.
The height thing is ridiculous which goes back to everything just being taller now. I find the trunk of the X5 being really tall, but at least I have air suspension?
The solutions to weight would be a weight surcharge on insurance or registration. Make it annual. Class it at 5000lbs, then 7500lbs, then 10,000lbs. My X5 is almost 6000lbs and I agree it's heavy and I would pay that surcharge to own it.
My neighbour would hate it though lol. He has a G wagen, a X5, and a TRX

I pulled some numbers from MotorTrend's figure 8 test; which includes braking, cornering, acceleration.
Domestic pickups having higher lateral G on A/T tire suggest great chassis balance.
X3 M40i - 24.8 sec @ 0.78 g, on staggered Michelin PS4S
Rivian R1T - 25.9 sec @ 0.72 g
X7 xDrive40i – 26.1 sec (0.70 g)
F-150 Lightning – 26.3 sec (0.69 g)
Camry XSE AWD – 26.7 sec (0.67 g)
X3 xDrive30i – 26.9 sec (0.64 g)
Ram 1500 Laramie – 27.7 sec (0.62 g)
CX-5 Signature – 27.7 sec (0.61 g)
Wrangler 4XE Willys - 28.0 sec (0.60g)
Silverado 1500 High Country – 28.1 sec (0.60 g)
Toyota makes some real shitters that drive worse than a bastardized Jeep on mud terrain tires and live front/rear axles.
Tundra – 28.8 sec (0.59 g)
Toyota Tacoma (2024) – 29.0 sec (0.57 g)

I’d say I NEED a pickup about 10 times a year. If I had one I’d use it even more than that.
With that said I do my own landscaping, I’m an anti-hoarder so I love going to the dump, etc.
You can’t fit a 10 foot 2x4 into most SUV’s. I also don’t want bags of soil, plants, etc. in the back of an enclosed cab really.
If I had a garage I’d be using it even more than that as I’d probably buy a sled, a dirt bike, etc.
It’s not only for just like house work but also a gateway for toys

Yeah, aside from having a travel trailer to tow, the real usefulness is in the landscaping/gardening/yard upkeep.
We're doing a yard waste trip with a full load of trimmings etc to the Saanich yard average of twice a month spring through fall.
Right now we're doing the spring mulching, that's 3 or 4 pickup bed loads.
Could I have it delivered by a dump truck? Sure, but I don't really want to pay the fee and then have to worry about where I have to store 5 yards of mulch at a time. Doing it in a yard or two at a time is more manageable.
But we're also fortunate enough that it's not our daily driver (well, we don't daily drive any of our vehicles) so since I'm not pounding out the km's on it, I couldn't care less about the fuel costs, I can afford it.
I personally dislike actually driving the truck, it's so boring, unwieldy an non-engaging but it's convenience makes up for it. Maybe one day I'll slap a whipple on it, I hear the Coyotes take well to boost :P

I've never felt the need for a pickup to work on my place. But I also find them painfully boring to drive. Sometimes I use a little utility trailer, and I've found that way more useful than a truck would be. Particularly being able to simply walk straight into the back of it so I can just roll appliances in there on a dolly. For lumber I just strap it to the roof of the Grand Cherokee or Rav. I've put 8ft 2x4s into the Celica when I only needed a few. The dirt bike I put on the back of the Jeeps with a hitch carrier, and that was way more convenient than loading it into a truck bed too.

Driving a truck if you're not in construction is more of a lifestyle choice for sure. That being said, a couple buddies have full sized F150'a and the 2nd row is glorious. It's massive. It's the best for road trips since they have a tonneau cover, so the luggage stays dry and you get the absolute comfort of a big ass truck.
My dream car lineup would be:

Rest in peace, George Foreman.
George Foreman, the fearsome heavyweight who lost the “Rumble in the Jungle” to Muhammad Ali before his inspiring second act as a 45-year-old champion and a successful businessman, died Friday night. He was 76.
Foreman’s family announced his death on social media.
“A devout preacher, a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grand- and great-grandfather, he lived a life marked by unwavering faith, humility and purpose,” his family wrote.

Anyone here using Cursor and Claude 3.7 AI to code with?
Back like 10 years ago, I had hired a few people to code for me, and I was building a piece of software to make even MORE money... but I had no coding experience or software development experience, and I was still getting fat paid and had so many hot chicks still that I was constantly distracted. After months of paying people and working on it, the app was janky as fuck and never worked properly, and I had a guy in Bangladesh, a guy in the Philippines, a Russian guy, and a dude in Vancouver and I was all paying them to code various parts of this app to make more money... and then the Russian guy went on a vodka bender, got arrested, and then contacted me in 2017 offering to send me $5 in rubles as an apology. Shit never got off the ground!
Now?
Fucking holy shit, Cursor and the AI... my God... I'm getting this app built so fucking fast.
Anyone else using Cursor and/or the AI to code with? Still learning the little nuances about coding like this, but hot DAMN... it is working beyond all of my expectations! Still don't have the balls to use YOLO mode or the Claude 3.7 MAX mode that charges 5 cents per instruction.

I'm not using Cursor or Claude, but I gave in and bought chatgpt plus. Man it's so much better than free, it almost feels unlimited but I very quickly went from impressed to concerned. While chat limits feel unlimited, I feel like I'm running into memory or bug issues. Perhaps its the complexity of what I want it to do - analyze 5 databases (4 excel, 1 word doc) for product content and confirm which companies match xyz criteria. It doesn't seem that hard to me, I'm just lazy. But I swear I've spent more time talking to ChatGPT than had I just done it myself.
It should be as simple as:
1. Parse and process all data.
2. Check to see which companies match data
3. Give me my result.
But apparently, checks & balances (safeguards) aren't automatically built in and are not obvious to AI. I'm doing it so step by step, I might as well have just hired some guy from Bangladesh to do this.

Anyone here still have a GFG or GFG-similar grill?
I used to make the fucking BEST sandwiches ever:
Italian roll brushed with garlic butter
Juicy meatballs seasoned & browned, and simmered in marinara sauce infused with garlic, basil, and a touch of red pepper flakes
Provolone or mozzarella layered inside the sandwich
Fresh basil, peppers, and/or onions chopped
Take that split-open bread layered with cheese, put the basil, red pepper, onion, or banana pepper, whatever you don't need it, then pour the meatballs and sauce on top and then throw it in the grill on the lowest setting for a crispy finish
Add a glass of red wine, or a bottle, and make it for your date, but not too much garlic unless you want her farting constantly. Cannot go wrong with that sandwich. So fucking tasty I wish I had a grill to make one on now.

Organizers of the Vancouver International Auto Show say the event broke attendance records after it attracted international headlines for banning Tesla on safety grounds.
Supporters of the electric car company and CEO Elon Musk had called for a boycott of the show, but organizers say it instead set a new five-day attendance record of more than 138,000.
They say in a news release that Saturday’s attendance of more than 42,000 at the Vancouver Convention Centre also broke the one-day attendance record.
Surprised at the attendance but I hope more attendance leads to more companies attending.

The sound of the woodpecker pecking away at the top of my furnace vent is how I know for sure that spring has arrived. It has been like this for the past 5 - 6 years now.
At first, I just try to make noise on the balcony, and they usually go away. After a while, they figured out there was no threat to my yelling and such, so it didn't work anymore.
I have since racheted it up a notch, and bought a shotgun style, hand pump Super Soaker to squirt water at them whenever they do the banging thing. It is totally working wonders. The bird doesn't get harmed, and I don't have the banging anymore.
I've always wondered though -- how much damage can they really do to a the aluminum sheet that is used for those furance exhaust vents?

See !!! I told ya birds suck. Lousy bitch ass flying dinosaurs.
before we did a reno and replaced our wooden garage doors, a woodpecker was pecking away at them and making holes the size of shotgun slugs. luckily we intended to replace them anyway, but man was it annoying that one bird can do so much damage to your house! i considered choosing violence with a bb gun. if it returns and pecks at other parts of my house i probably wouldnt hesitate. they are pretty aware of their surroundings so even if you come within view of them like going around the corner of your house, they will fly off. im surprised you were able to get close enough to use a water gun

Well, I'm only standing on my balcony, and the woodpecker is standing at the top of my furnace exhaust pipe. The pipe itself is in the middle of the house, so I am not only some distance away from the bird itself; I am also a solid 2m or so below him.
I expect the woodpecker to know I'm there on the balcony by the time I'm there. But I suppose they figure I wasn't enough of a threat being that far away and below, which is why my yelling and banging couldn't deter them.

I never really listened to Joe way back FOR Joe, I listened for the interviews much like I used to listen to Jim Rome for ages who frankly is almost unbearable on his own, but he’s a masterful interviewer.
Right before Joe went to Spotify when he had Kanye on that was kind of the last straw for me and I stopped listening.
All his “regulars” like Joey Diaz, Bert, etc. they were all pretty annoying and you could see Joe surrounded himself with people he thought were like “down to earth” guys but they were all fucking knobs. And yeah, until like 2014-2015, you could do any coke you wanted and all of the hot chicks, B.C. Film people, real estate agents, IT folk... fuck EVERYONE was doing coke because the drugs weren't poisoned yet. I can't remember what year it was, 2008 maybe? Edit: not going to say what professional field this was, but a big convention was at a fancy hotel downtown in Vancouver and my friend who was in that industry invited me, I went to their private party and I walked into a room full of B.C.'s top people in that business and there was a table with a massive pile of coke on it. Had to have been at least a half-o, if not more, and people were casually doing lines and having a great time.

Hey guys! Got a question. Let me ask RS:
Any recommendations for waterproof sneakers? I mean sneakers, like running shoes. Not hiking boots or rain boots.
I'm looking for a decent pair that's actually waterproof.
I've tried many brands (Goretex Salomans, Asics, Vessis) but they all seem to leak from the bottom. The insole would get wet and the bottom of my feet will be wet and shriveled up. Thanks in advance guys!
westopher
03-29-2025, 08:55 PM
The vans old skool hi tops I use for winter. They are solid for what they are. They specifically need to be the waterproof ones though.
EvoFire
03-29-2025, 09:23 PM
Do you specifically need running shoes? I have a pair of Converse hi top leathers with 3m thinsulate and they have been water proof for the 6 years I've had them. They do need to be replaced soon as I've worn the bottom down.
The more waterproof a shoe is the less breathable it will be it’s really that simple. No matter what tech is in the membrane like goretex, it wears out usually fairly quickly. Even goretex is not that breathable which is why you still sweat in $1000 arcteryx jackets. Also goretex wets out after a certain amount of time in the rain, so if you are commuting on a super wet day and walking in puddles a lot, waterproof shoes will not be that waterproof especially after youve had them for a few months.

If you just want to keep your feet dry you can put bread bags (or any small plastic bags) over your socks. That's what we did for hiking in the rain in outdoor ed and it worked a treat.

I absolutely regret being coerced by a for profit company to take a shot I didn’t want and felt like didn’t need given my health history. However, I don’t dispute the science behind it and I know quite a few people in my life who either work with MRNA technology or FDA approvals and I can trust their knowledge that the science is sound.
If Covid was just some hoax to see if everyone could be forced to take a shot, the end results turned out pretty shit because as you can see now with the huge increases in measles, etc. people have general hesitancy to almost any vaccine. And in the future, if there ever was another Covid, there will be incredible pushback on a mass vaccination program. So whatever they were “trying to achieve” hopefully they got everything they need out of Covid, because the people pulling the string behind the scenes will never have another opportunity like that again.

I'm the most marginalized and poor person on this forum. Not for crime, not for doing anything wrong. Simply for speaking my mind and refusing the COVID vaccine. For that, I'm completely exiled from society. There are STILL jobs that require the COVID vaccine, which I am never taking that shit. And due to my injury, I can't do heavy labour like I was for the last year.
Clearly, I'm an intelligent person who can write, do photography, make art, have a ton of skills, but the climate of needing to be woke to get any sort of cultural momentum going is working against me extremely hard. Then anyone "conservative" are basically rich and disconnected from creativity, so they see no value in art, so they don't support any artists like myself who have seen both sides of the coin and have the experience to speak on society.
Because of this, I'm barely holding on and waiting for an adult industry payment to show up so I can even eat. Yeah, I'm at $0 and have 0 food. Completely empty fridge.

I bought a car in December to do food delivery, it broke down in 2 days. I have a hernia and need surgery to get it fixed. Being banned everywhere, GoodReads, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, it is very hard to make any money on my art. Because the car is broken, I cannot even do food delivery to make money.
Then you have the "two sides" fighting it out Reddit-style on this forum when neither side can see that they've both conformed to the system perfectly, which is why they're all doing so well. Because if they genuinely stopped to take a look around and really thought about the state of things and the direction society is headed, they'd see the system is designed to keep people fighting and voting red or blue, because nothing will change until you actually shift people's ways of thinking. Right now, everyone is just "my team vs your team" and everyone is blinded by dogmatic thinking.
Just quarantine him again and all his lackey scrotum hangers-on like VRYLARETARD and Revupyours.

But free speech and freedom of expression have always been values in Canada.
Silencing someone because you disagree with them is not what we ever did here. I know you're afraid of having your views challenged and want to send me to the Fight Club gulag, but that's really not how we ever did things in Canada.

Many of us have reasons why we think we don't fit in society. For some it's their age, for others its their gender, race, religion, health, whatever.
Some people have nothing really going against them, so they make shit up. The worst thing to do is make up reasons to be included in this, like assuming you'll never get anywhere in life because you won't get a vaccine.

Well, let me impress you by using the AI to code a new money maker so that by this time next year, I'll have a shitload more money because I just turned ruthless tech bro capitalism mode on. Being rich without a 9-5 job is such a super power. Have you tried it? Of course you haven't, you'd have a deeper understanding of life if you did.
It's not healthy to be greedy about money, so need to balance that killer persona with the soulful vancouver writer and poet heart I have. You know, Canada is a very free country in many ways, it is a complex social system and you're allowed to be a total fuck-up, which is great if you are a life explorer like me, but some people, instead of their thrills being from climbing mountains with no rope, living the douchebag ultra lifestyle, or racing litre bike crotch-rockets, maybe they've lost that edge and choose to numb themselves to all reality because they've lost who they are. Having been a misfit myself refusing the "vaccine", I can tell you with a straight face, Canadian society can be cold and cruel when the social climate permits it, and through forms of exclusion, like not being able to go to the gym, the pub, or keep your job. The reason I came back to Revscene in the first place was to re-connect with car guys, and find my anchor back into society after a period of total alienation.
Anyways, I digress.
If SkinnyPuppy will be so kind as to let me stay, I guarantee someday you're going to look me in the eye and admit I've done good things for Vancouver. Unlike you WokeSceners or the numbed-to-reality ConSceners, if I can make it back to Vancouver from the gutter I'm wallowing in, I'll try and make a difference when it comes to how many people are suffering like fucking crazy on the streets of my home town. I poured hours and hours and hours into my 3 misery music videos that got hundreds of thousands of views on Twitter before I was banned, and nobody here even said they were good!

Anyone here have any experience with back yard pizza ovens?
My wife has expressed an interest in one, and so I started researching the Ooni Karu 12. It's an older model but lower priced, and I kind of like the idea of messing around with a wood fire (even though I have zero experience).
i have a koda 16 and ive had it for 2 years and ive only just taken it out of the box a month ago to see what it looks like lol.
although i don't have any experience yet, i did do some research at the time. the karu can do gas and wood which is nice. you probably won't find the wood really adds taste to the pizza since you cook a pie in 2 minutes. you might find that gas is just way faster and with less trouble than the wood, but having the option seems fun. i went with the koda for these reasons and also since i don't have to deal with a big chimney, although it is detachable from what i understand. what i dont really like about these backyard ovens is that they rust easily, so if you want something you can have a permanent place for in your backyard they aren't really good for that in the same way a bbq is.

I had a friend who had one of these ovens for pizza on an outside patio, like an Ooni, not sure if it was that brand. His ran on small propane tank, and it was dope. You could technically use it when camping. Pizza in like 5 mins, just like the Neopolitan style at these high end pizza joints where they charge you like $24-28 dollars per eg. Bufala ... seemed like a fun thing to do and inexpensive to do at home. I mean dough, pizza sauce, and pepperoni, mushroom, ham, etc.

1) get one with solid legs
2) the one we got had rotating mechanism (however when it came to using it, it didn't quite work well. - but it was better than nothing.
3) you better be ready to making a pizza every 3 mins cause it's fast and it's like a child labor supply chain
4) get a pizza peel, cause if you don't have one, it sucks balls.

We make pizza pretty often but our oven is really weak (only goes up to 220C) so it took me a long time to work out a decent tasting pizza recipe (basically grandma style with a parbaked then chilled crust). I'd love to be able to get a really hot outdoor oven, but it would be destroyed by the elements in no time. Pizza is fun to make, quite simple once you figure it out, and extremely cheap if you make it yourself.

I bought an Ooni Koda 16 last year. Works great. I don't have a covered deck so it's a bit of a chore to haul it out of the shed and set it up when I want to use it.
The real learning curve is in making the dough (if you make it from scratch) so that it's Juuuuust right (too dry and it's tough, too wet and good luck moving it from the peel) and stretching it so it doesn't look like some misshapen abomination.
IMO the wood Ooni's are overrated. The pizzas cook so fast that you're not really imparting an appreciable amount of "wood smoke" flavour. They're more of a pain in the ass to use. Take longer to warm up, take longer to cool down, more PITA to clean. Propane is so much easier.
If you want "wood fire" grillling, get yourself a Kamodo.

The dough is easy, the TOUGHEST part is to stop the kids from loading up with so much filling / toppings making it not work properly.
It's always the dad that has to load / clean / cook the pizza. Next year i'm going to get the niece and nephew to turn / monitor their own pizza.
You can also try calzone as well.
I always start the first few with just simple cheese pizza so i can gauge the sweet spot.

does anybody know the legalities of an employer putting microphones in the workplace? I'm not talking about a camera with a mic, I'm talking about a stand alone microphone, unannounced, hidden. obviously I'm not talking about them being in a bathroom either. just out in the general workspace.

In British Columbia, under the "one-party consent" rule, you can legally record conversations you are participating in, even without the other party's knowledge, but recording conversations you are not part of is illegal.

Thanks for all the input! The pizza oven I had in mind is a dual fuel one, just because I thought cooking with wood fire would be fun and enjoyable, but it's interesting to hear that it doesn't make much difference vs gas.

Anyone looking at the new Passport?
Other than the lack of a hybrid it looks great. Right size for me but no hybrid is a dealbreaker.
I'll say that some of the latest off-roady releases have been great looking - the 4Runner, Landcruiser, GX (all Toyotas) - but the Passport sounds like it's great on road too.

I think it looks good enough to steal some casual 4Runner sales ... like from my parents.
Lack of hybrid is a huge L because the Passport gets worse fuel economy than a 3.5TT F150.
I suspect the more logical buyer (like my mom) will start asking for an electric version.
After picking up the lightning, she's become a lot more interested in Rivian especially since it has a 3rd row.

I've been all over it since it was announced as our daily driver in Calgary... you've been able to build one on the Honda USA site for like 2+ months now but zilch on Honda Canada.. .an it's build in Arkansas or Alabama I forgot which one so it's fucked for tariffs now, might as well forget about it. That's probably why Honda Canada never put it on the site yet. Especially when you consider that it's below the Pilot, but on the US website it's actually $4k more starting price than the Pilot an gets into the $50K+ range with any options... I would think in Canada even before tariffs it would be in the $65k+ range which is really getting up there.
I liked it precisely because it was just a basic V6 with an actual automatic personally. Don't are for hybrid batteries eating floor space in the back and don't want electric with the climate here for camping.

I've had the '24 Land Cruiser. I'd get that over some unibody Honda

Naturally aspirated V6, 285hp eh hmm...
After bouncing back and forth between BC & AB, I'm finally peacing out of my condo and being a PR in AB.
As a result, I have some things I can't take with me:
Palliser (Canadian Lazyboy) leather recliner couch
Faux leather armchair recliner
Coffee table with 2 end tables
3 table lamps (2 matching)
L-shaped glass & metal office desk
Platform bed with matching nightstand
24" computer monitor (office)
28" computer gaming monitor
100mm 2,8 canon macro lens
24mm 1.4 Rokinon lens
Bowflex adjustable gym bench
TV Stand
Schwinn Elliptical
Stuff is priced (very cheap).
If you're interested or know someone who would be (this stuff is perfect for a student and / or senior), shoot me a message :)

If it is built in the US, I'd be pretty surprised if it doesn't comply with CUSMA. I am still super confused with how much (Canadian) tariffs it'd be subjected to, but there should be at least a 25% tariff on it for the steel and aluminum. So don't rule it out just yet.

Any of you guys actively camping?
I'm going to start camping overnight for my track days this year after getting tired of driving to/from the Toronto/Mississauga and Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (Bowmanville, ON) and the hotels in surrounding areas cost more than a night at the Ritz (I'm not making this up.)
I grew up camping with a Coleman naphtha stove but it's been a very long time (20+ years) since I've done any camping, and I have a Boxster, so space is limited. I'm looking to see if you guys have any recommendation on stoves that are small to boil water for coffee and maybe cook a small meal or something.
One thing to keep in mind is that the track is super windy because it's just open air and no buildings, so I need something that can withstand high winds. I don't think I have the luxury of hauling a 10lb propane tank or a large BBQ or table, or anything of that sort in a Boxster, but can make it work if need be. Thanks in advance.

If it's just for making coffee or a single serving of rice or whatever, you can get a folding stove that uses those dim sum stove cartridges instead of the big Coleman ones. Get one with a wind shield
