If by the letter of the law, he’s innocent, then the laws are the problem. Remember George Zimmerman was innocent cause a black kid (Trayvon) with skittles was too scary for him, just like a plastic bag and a skateboard was too scary for little Kyle.
When’s someone gonna roll up to some of these antivax rallies waving a gun around and start unloading on people cause they’re scared?

USA is a mess... send guys to prison for life for marijuana possession... but another guy can walk home free from killing people in so-called self defense in situations where literally everyone's interpretation of what constitutes danger to themselves varies vastly based both on their predisposition and their personality makeup.
Innocent from the law, but the law needs to change... this just opens the door to all kinds of right (or even far left) wing nutjobs showing up at places to provoke people with guns and then shooting them when they perceive any response that resembles a threat to themselves (hey, if a plastic bag is good enough... simply pointing? Throwing a stick? Kicking a shin?) and raising their hands for the police to arrest them knowing full well they will be acquitted.

1. Fake company "hires" person
2. Fake company sends person fake cheque to "buy" equipment via etransfer to another fake company
3. Person buys equipment by sending etransfer
4. Fake cheque bounces and person is now out the etransfer amount
Scammer benefits because they are both fake companies.
I can chime in on this.
Real story in Vancouver Broadway company.
Personal assistant to the CEO, been there for over a year. A lot of time, the CEO has to do errands and participate in corp events. Buying prizes for charity events etc.
One day, the assistant + AP walked into the CEO's office; "why did you ask me to buy 9k of google gift cards."
Turns out, the company has been getting phishing email from the CEO. The scammer / hacker knew when the CEO is usually on vacation; and knew from previous AP corp threshold were below 9k. This scam has gone on for 7 months and they lost over 210k.
Now the IT guy mandated different password from their MS login as well as other banking passowrds on their corp networks etc and hired ethical hackers to test their systems.
Invited the company to do a seminar with us; and yes we all asked "how stupid can you be"; when you're dealing with personal errands of the CEO, and you are used to seeing 9k purchases, you really don't ask questions.
So seeing these 9k request are not uncommon..
1) please bring in a 6 carat diamond ring to resize for my wife please.
2) i need 50k sent over to ____studio for his entertainment.
3) please fill up my yacht using the corp credit card... It was $31k

I find it ironic that self-defense only applies if you're white.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marissa_Alexander_case
Marissa Alexander was a case where a woman who was a victim of domestic abuse by her husband, fearing for her life, shoots a warning shot to pause her attacker. No one is hurt or affected by the gun shot -- she claims that due to Florida's stand your ground law, she is fully legal to protect herself.
The woman is literally offered a plea deal by prosecution, indicating she had valid grounds for self-defence. She turns down the deal, and is convicted by a jury in the span of 12 minutes, receiving a sentence of 20 years. Eventually the case was relitigated, with her carrying a lifelong felony, and 3 years in prison.
This fucking kid had definitive intent to get himself into an environment of provocation, and yet walks away with zero charges. That's fucking insane.
Make that be known, this sets a VERY dangerous precedent in common law -- one that a person can take advantage of in the future in order to commit violence in the name of "self defense" and "fear".
Fucking America man, there is no depth to their depravity, for that kid to walk away without a single charge on his record is disgusting.
The US carries a dual justice system.
We'll see how that Arbery case goes next...

Guaranteed if someone had shot Rittenhouse in self defense they wouldn't have gotten the same outcome.
If by the letter of the law, he’s innocent, then he’s innocent and you can say justice prevailed. Opinions and feelings shouldn’t come into factor. He’s obviously a peice of shit but if the way the laws are written say he’s innocent, he shouldn’t be found guilty over public opinion.
I didn’t think there was any chance he’d not get convicted of at least 1 charge, I even lost $100 bet over it. Crazy
The issue is that even by the letter of the law, there are varying levels of justice. I don't think it would be unfair that say that white people are afforded more leniency and advantage to the interpretation of laws whereas minorities are not afforded same.
As a result, justice doesn't always prevail.

I am in my mid 30's now and my family doctor about 2-3 years ago mentioned, generally people start doing health body checks around my age now. E.g. Blood tests, cholesterol etc. It's always good to take precaution and make health changes before things get too late. Just because I am young and feel fine doesn't necessarily mean body is totally healthy. What do you guys do to keep your body in check? Just go to doctor and request they send you in for tests? (I know some doctors won't send you in unless you are feeling unwell or something is wrong, which I think is stupid).

You can request the check IIRC. Heck, my family doc asked me to do a bunch of tests when I went in for annual update with the boys and mentioned to him that I think due to age, I no longer have the same energy level as before.

Need new summer tires for next year. Probably the extremecontact sport.
I'm not sure if now's a good time to buy considering it's Black Friday, or just wait.
I bought my last set several years ago from the states and had it shipped to Blaine. But I'm not even entirely sure what the border situation is if it's just crossing to pick up tires.
Where do you guys buy your tires?
westopher
11-26-2021, 06:15 AM
My last set I got from Kal tire. It just came down to a loyalty thing due to my local one in North van getting me out of a huge bind with a hole, and not even charging me for it. Any good local shops are a better choice IMO once you look at mounting and balancing charges and your time it will take for a cross border pickup, taxes, etc.
DHP and TSS are two local shops worth buying from as well. The $100-200 savings for a set from the states isn’t worth the running around for me, but part of that is living in North van. A whole day spent to save that money isn’t even close to worth it, and that was even pre covid.
whitev70r
11-26-2021, 06:33 AM
Last new set of tires I bought was from Discount Tires. They have designated installers in Bellingham, you have it shipped there, you arrange an apt, they mount and balance it for you. Probably same for TireRack. Even when I declared at the border, it was still cheaper than buying here locally ... but caveat, warranty on tires are within US and/or Canada so if anything goes wrong ... you have to get replacement in the US. Sometimes rebates are country specific so if Michelin offers a rebate and you shipped to US, you will need a US address to claim rebate.
There are advantages and disadvantages going to the US ... advantage is $$ ... disadvantage is some hassle if anything goes wrong and you need replacement.
Now I hunt down a good used set locally.
AzNightmare
11-26-2021, 08:14 AM
My last set was from DiscountTire. The rates I found were a lot cheaper than local shops even after conversion. But I was also buying rims too, so it was mounted and balanced as well.
I usually go to TSS for mounting and balancing cause I know they have a touchless machine. Last time I went to Kal Tire, they chipped off the paint on my wheels. I won't go back there again unless I'm just doing oem wheels, but even then, I'll rather just give TSS my business.
I didn't know you can buy tires from TSS directly.

11-26-2021, 09:35 AM
I buy from Costco if possible, then Kal Tire if it's a vehicle that leaves town and I want easy Road Hazard protection, or PMCTire if I don't. PMC will mount/balance for free if you buy rims and tires so it was actually cheaper for me to sell the old set and just buy new rims/tires for my wifes Rav (vs just new tires mounted on the old rims).

How do you have a wall with no studs? If there's anything at all in the area that will be covered by the TV what I've done if the studs aren't where I need them is mount two 2x4's horizontally using lag bolts into every stud they pass over, and then lag bolt the TV mount to those.
Razor Ramon HG

I think that would depend primarily on the weight of your television and the type of mount.
If it's stationary mounted and flush to the wall (not on an articulating/moving arm) it's probably be ok.

Been to both, really depends what you're looking for.
If you've never been to Honolulu, I'd say go there. You said you're looking to drive around and explore, Honolulu for sure. Rent a car for the entire trip and just bounce around the island, check out the beaches in the North, and South/East, don't spend all your time in Waikiki, it sucks.
The trip we went in 2020, we stayed in Makaha which is a dope more local oriented area of the island. Like I said, much to explore on Honolulu, and great food as well.
Cabo will be cheaper, and you'll likely be staying in an AI. If you're into that, it'll be a party, which might be more fun for you guys (if you're looking to get laid or whatever). There will definitely be less adventuring in Cabo, of course you can do some excursions and such, but there's definitely more to explore in Honolulu.
Cabo isn't really situated for exploring, if you're into that I'd suggest Playa Del Carmen or Tulum, or Puerto Vallarta.
TLDR: Partying/drinking/fucking - Cabo
Exploring/Beaching/Surfing - Honolulu.

“My husband suffered a stroke and a broken back and we were with just my income. Do you know how hard it is to support a family on only $40,000 a year? I couldn’t qualify for State Aid. I made to much,” she wrote.
In the November 11, 2016 blog post, “Dear Mr. Trump,” she wrote about her political opinions and her reluctant decision to vote for Donald Trump in the 2016 election. She described herself as being a member of a hardworking, middle-class family in which both parents work. She said she is a feminist, a supporter of the LGBT community, and a person who supports the right to bear arms.
“As a female and a Realtor, thank you for allowing my right to bear arms,” she wrote in the post to Trump. “Allowing me to be protected if I show a home to someone with bad intentions. Thank you for respecting that Amendment.”

In the clip the two small cars can be seen initially weaving across three lanes of westbound highway as they approach the Westview Drive exit. Eventually, they get side-by-side and it looks like one is trying to force the other to the side of the highway as they share a single lane.
As they approach the exit the pair split apart with the one on the left going further left, around a pickup truck, accelerating and then flying right across two lanes of highway (in front of the truck and the other car involved in the incident) before heading down the exit).

even when it's not raining, you know the section of 13th Street between Lonsdale and St George where ICBC used to be, it's like someone decided the street they designed in Lego City is perfect. It swerves left and right and the left lane suddenly changes to a turn lane and you gotta swerve right to go straight
And the new barrier for bike lane they added to Still Creek even though there is already a massive paved bike path. That's were all the trcks wait to load and unload stuff for Standard Bldg supplies. Everyone has to cut across the yellow line to pass. Also cut down the space before the intersection at Douglas so, before when there was a train crossing, only the left turners get backed up. Now there is no right side so all the right turners are stuck too when there's a train.
I fucking swear these people who approve this shit don't even drive cars (in that area at least).
I don't know why they don't embed the reflectors into those grooves over here like they do when you drive out farther east

My parents home in Calgary has just sold.
They will be moving to Kelowna.
Move is in the next 30 days.
Size of move = a large 4 bedroom home.
I am looking for recommendations re: reputable companies that Revscene members may have positive experiences with in terms of an inter-province move.
It is the first time actually hiring a moving company as when we moved into that house 21 years ago we just DIY'd with U-Haul. No time for that now unfortunately.
Your suggestions are most appreciated.

I agree with the above, when my parents moved to Ontario my dads new employer paid for what was apparently a pretty high end/expensive moving company and a bunch of stuff went missing. They'll be tired, but don't rush at either end. Be sure everything is packed well and accounted for at the other end.
Either that or see if you can rent those moving containers for a move that far. I used one when we moved across town and it was awesome.

I posted this in the what grinds your gears thread, but thought I'd share here also.
Was at a dealership picking up my car from service and returning a loaner, and this young couple is also returning a loaner.
Couple: "oh, by the way, someone stole the catalytic converter - just thought you should know".
Service advisor "??? wtf? Let me get my manager"
Manager: "Oh well, that sucks but it happens. Have you called the police?"
Couple: "No"
Manager: "Oh, ok. You'll need to file a police report, then get ICBC to pay for repair under your comprehensive, you'll just need to pay the deductible"
Couple: "What, why do we have to pay"
Manager: "Well, because the car was in your possession. Don't worry it won't affect your premiums"
Couple: "Yes but we don't want to pay the deductible"
Manager: "What do you mean, you can't just not pay - the car was in your possession"
Couple: "Yes, but it's your car not ours"
Manager: "But you signed the insurance waiver and transfer form"
Couple: "We weren't told this would happen, we don't want to pay"
Manager (now irritated but still professional): "That's not how it works, if we damage your car while it's in our shop, then we would pay to fix it, right?"
Couple: "Yes, but we still don't want to pay"
Manager: "So that means if you were to crash the car into a tree you still wouldn't pay??"
Couple: "That's different, this wasn't our fault. What if you give us the money to pay the deductible"
At this point I'm openly staring in disbelief, like how fucking thick does your face need to be where your entire argument is "I don't want to pay". Like fuck people, come on.

The thing I like about pizza garden is the ingredients actually seem to be decent quality and don’t leave you feeling disgusting after like a Pizza Hut etc. lol
Neapolitan is ok, but even fancy places like Via Tevere etc. give me a good Greek style over that any day
there's one conveniently nearby, so i would sometimes go there at lunch or after work in pre-covid days.
earls/cactus are more expensive and way busier and are the only other options nearby of similar food & drinks.
their kids meal isn't terrible so we'd go as a family sometimes. i like that i can actually get a table.
i kind of like their knockoff of the big mac pizza & spicy chicken pizza, and their brute sandwich was nice.
at my previous work location the nearby BP's had a lunch special for a half brute for like $10 and it was awesome, the one by my house only sells the full unfortunately.
but ya - the above 3 locations i noticed have had price increases, regular & happy hour menus, and happy hour times shortening

So I pulled out a small electric space heater that was unused for a few years, and no matter what outlet it goes into, after running it for a few minutes the plus gets warm.
It's not too hot to touch, but it's definitely warmer than anything else (no, the heater isn't facing the wall). Is this normal/safe, or should I just replace it?
the plug like the head end of the cord? or are you talking about the outlet itself, or both?
what's the wattage on the unit? is it running full beans for a long duration?
a 15amp circuit is technically rated at 1800w but you really only want to load it at 80% (1440w), so if you're running a heater with high wattage that could be the reason, and don't be surprised if your breaker trips. mind you that's only if you have nothing else on that same circuit, if you have something else on that same circuit then you add that wattage on top of your heater...
if you have a 20a circuit then you will have 2400w (1920w @80%).

The plug itself, end of the cord. It's a small unit, but listed at 1500W, which I guess is the problem. It's a 15A circuit with other stuff on it, although no breaker has tripped.
I guess the breaker will trip before a fire, but I've never had a plug get hot haha.
unless you're running heavy loads with the heater on at the same time like an appliance i doubt it'll trip.
my vacuum cord warms up too.
i just gave you an essay b/c i see/hear heater issues and often it's related to overloading the circuit, or the heater going on/off consistently <-this caused a PITA at my old house to troubleshoot trying to find which connection in the house got loose as a result :lol

I was just thinking, when you guys ship things to a different address versus to your Government ID address (e.g Drivers License), how can you prove the item belongs to you?.
Say for example, you shipped an item to your parents home but courier give you a notice slip to pick up at the postal office due to duties need to be paid or no one was at at the time. The name will match, but address will be different as you live at a different location.

I have an anti-theft passive immobilizer on my car, which is supposedly giving me a discounted rate, the paperwork mentions this, but it doesn't layout the discount amount or anything like that.
Depending on the use, you can get coverage for pleasure, to and from work under 15/30/90kms etc.
I also saved once I took my inexperienced ex off my insurance.
Locations also makes a big diff. If I lived 3 blocks west of where I am now, my rates would skyrocket.

Second year I’ve had ICBC/BCAA insurance, and I got rear ended in mid-December. I reported the accident to both, and currently I’m dealing with BCAA for repairs. BCAA contacted ICBC directly to determine liability (which I’ve been cleared of already). Since I am not at fault, my deductible will be waived. Everything’s just taking a bit longer due to the holiday season.
TLDR: yes, claim with both so there’s an extra step.

I don't use the app so I can't say, but I imagine so. And the baristas use reuseable cups for this purpose because they aren't allowed to wash or touch customer's cups.

So it’s just another tax grab that is virtually impossible to avoid in most situations..
Build a fucking recycling program where you pay 5 cents per cup turned in at return it depots, the garbage would be eliiated and would provide a revenue stream for the homeless. Instead of this faceless tax grab going into general revenue

It's not even a tax grab, that $ goes straight into the restaurant's coffers. Essentially COV told restaurants they can charge more on the guise of sustainability (which, convolutedly makes some sense), but other cities which had nothing to do with this are all like fuck yeah us too!

Experiment fail ...I usually go to McD in Vanc but today pulled into one in Richmond. Wanted to see if I can use my own mug at the drive through. Richmond doesn't charge disposable cup fee, it's only a Vancouver thing.
So one way is to get your coffee in Richmond, Burnaby, or North Shore ...if it's not out of your way.

That is a better idea than CoV. Make it like buying pop where you can recoup that cost. They put all this bullshit on the front end and have nothing at the back end when it comes to recycling.
And worst is they leave it to the business like mc Donald to use that money how they see fit with no accountability where that money goes into. We all are not born yesterday. Essentially if you go take out or drive thru you pay 25 cents for cup and another 15 cents for a paper bag. That a couple bucks extra if you order for a family.

Haha, "how to be an asshole for only 12 dollars!!"
But yeah, this is stupidity at it's finest.
Although, I should say, some of this is psychological - like because you see it as a separate line item, and know it's going to fuck all, it's very annoying.

It is a strategy to get you to use your own cup and stop the paper cup waste. Where the $0.25 goes is irrelevant. I was just thinking that $0.25 is just enough to make me want to make that effort of bringing my own cup. Any less like 5 cents, I would have said, hell, I'll just pay the extra to save the hassle of me bringing a mug/washing it afterwards. That's all this is. Just imagine all the paper cups that are used in one day here in hippie coffee drinking Vancouver. If we can save using 25% of those cups in one day, I think it would go a long way. That is all. Nothing more, nothing less. I, for one, like it.
can you even bring/use your own cup for coffee with covid and all?
i would think you're forced to use a new cup from the store and pay the 25 cents

I didn’t even mind bringing my own cup but with Covid now it becomes a big thing as opposed to where you used to just hand them the cup.
Are you going to use your own cup for a caramel macchiato or sonthing like that? Lol even a latte kinda has to be made in the cup it will be served in

To be fair, they were on a chartered Sunwing flight (the legroom on them is criminal but I digress). It's that quasi grey area between flying commercial and flying private. No doubt they went way overboard with the partying, and the flight attendants are not paid nearly enough to give babysit and police these complete idiots. Hell, actual babysitters probably get paid more than the poor flight attendants that had to be on this flight.

Losing employment, too.
https://montreal.ctvnews.ca/sunwing-party-plane-passengers-fired-facing-other-repercussions-at-home-1.5731519
Some of the passengers of the now-infamous Sunwing "party plane" on Dec. 30 will be coming home to unhappy employers or worse, with at least two already fired.
Frédérique Dumas-Joyal is one of them, losing her job of several years at Quebec's financial markets authority, the AMF.
"She was fired," Sylvain Théberge, an AMF spokesperson, said Friday.
Dumas-Joyal was an information officer at the authority. According to her LinkedIn page, she began working there in 2017, and she has also studied law at Laval University.
She also spent some earlier years working in the hotel industry and is a popular figure in the Quebec social media world, with an Instagram page showing nights out, including, this week, exploits in Tulum, Mexico, with the group of fellow influencers and TV stars who flew there on a charter flight.
A picture of Dumas-Joyal circulated showing her wearing a bright red stretchy triangular cloth over her face on the trip, appearing to be underwear, in place of a mask.
She took down her Instagram account between Wednesday and Friday of this week and could not be reached for comment.
Théberge elaborated more on her firing to other media, saying that “the Authority learned with amazement the facts surrounding one of its employees. We dissociate ourselves completely from her actions and deplore the events that have occurred."
Most of the group of roughly 150 remain in Mexico, with Canadian airlines blocking them from buying return flights, saying they are a risk to passenger safety.
Some have contracted COVID-19 and are self-isolating in Mexico, and a small number have managed to return to Quebec.
REAL ESTATE AGENT LOSES HIS JOB
Dumas-Joyal is not the only one to face real-life consequences after videos and photos of the flight were published showing people drinking and partying in the aisles without masks.
Sutton-Quebec confirmed to CTV News on Friday that real estate agent Karl Bernard has been suspended "with no possibility to be reinstated."
The agency's CEO said the company had "no other option but to take immediate action" as soon as it was made aware of the situation.
"The Sutton brand and the professionals behind the brand cannot endorse or be associated with any deviant or dangerous behaviour," CEO Julie Gaucher wrote in a statement.
"It is unfortunate that the lack of judgement and disrespect of one person can put at risk the reputation of a brand... that we have proudly built from scratch for the last 27 years, and tarnish the reputation of our Sutton brokers and our franchisees, which in no way can be associate with this kind of behaviour."
Two of the young women on the trip are also aspiring pilots, frequently posting about their training in Longueuil and Lachute, respectively. Transport Canada says it is looking into whether this week's events could affect their certification.
Several mainstream media personalities were also present, including people who have appeared on two Quebec reality shows, Occupation Double and L'Ile de L'Amour.
A spokesperson for L'Ile de L'Amour, which airs on TVA, said the three women who appeared in Season One and are involved in the Sunwing situation were not scheduled to participate in the upcoming season and the show has no further ties with them.
"The association with all Islanders in Season 1 is completed and ended, including the three ex-Islanders involved in the Sunwing flight," said spokesperson Junior Bombardier.

Gas price 1.769
Has to be the highest I've ever seen it. New record?
Wtf happened?
3.78 liters = 1 gallon.
$1.77 x 3.78 = $6.69 CAD ($5.27 USD) a gallon.
Here in Houston its $2.89 USD ($3.67 CAD) a gallon
This means I pay $0.97 CAD ($0.76 USD) a liter.
I'm not trying to flex, I'm just trying to sympathize with how fucked up it is.
In Washington State its averaged $1.03 USD ($1.31 CAD) a liter.
At those prices they're running the risk of seeing fuel trucks hijacked similar to the beginning of FF4. Slowing down tanker trucks on the Coquihalla pretending to be a repair crew, then stealing the tank.
1.70 euros in Finland
1.70 Euro to USD = $1.93
1.70 Euro to CAD = $2.44
If people had to spend $7.30 a gallon on gas here you'd see open revolt. In Canada you'd see rural communities become isolated city states.

An Instagram model tells the Too Much Hot Tea blog that she had consensual sex with the rap superstar at his hotel a few weeks ago. After their “romantic encounter,” Drake reportedly went to the bathroom to dispose of the condom. That’s when the woman removed the condom from the trash and inserted the opening end in her vagina in an attempt to impregnate herself, only to discover that there was hot sauce in the condom.

Can anyone recommend any wedding photographers and DJ/MCs for a wedding in the south Burnaby area?

Airtags unfortunately don't work in buttfuck nowhere Saskatchewan. Airtags require another iPhone to be around for it to ping.

Better stockup... 40% of US truckers and 1/5 Canadian ones wont be crossing the boarder because of new vaccine mandates.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LcfgUv2FKaI
A convoy of truckers are on their way from B.C. to Ottawa to protest the federal government's mandate for cross-border truck drivers. Until January 15th, truck drivers were exempt from the border requirement to be fully vaccinated to come into Canada from the U.S. The U.S. government has stated it too will soon bring in a similar mandate for its drivers. The mandate will send drivers back at the border if they are not fully vaccinated and could have repercussions to an already challenged supply chain on both sides of the border. We welcome Mike Millian, president of the Private Motor Truck Council of Canada, to provide some context around this important issue.

Even truck drivers dont want to partake in cell gene therapy
Also apparently only children are at risk of spike protein prions... I guess they didnt factor in how adults are also susceptible to prions like mad cow disease.

I don't get why we want to force truckers to get vaccinated? they literally sit in a box and barely interact with anyone.
I'm pro vaccine, but why are we forcing this on these people that can mess up our supply chain?

Papa Bastardo is a cross-border trucker. Drives from Surrey to Seattle every day and back.
Interacts with the US CBP, drives down to Seattle with a breakfast stop on the way where he interacts with folks, then arrives in Seattle where he interacts with the recipient firm. He then turns around and drives home with a lunch and possible gas stop on the way to be home for dinner after interacting with CBSA.
Then he interacts with a ton of folks in his regular life including people down at the raceway and stuff.
The folks he interact with interact with a lot of other folks too, especially in trucker circles.
I get your logic but just one person can infect a lot of folks

Ok, that's fair.
Do you know if a lot of his colleagues will not get vaccinated? Is not getting vaccinated worth losing their job?
I know of one person close to me that quit her job because she didn't want to get vaccinated. She's 55ish, ~$80k/year, pension, full benefits, six weeks vacation, and she said, not worth it and quit.
I suspect she's not hurting for money, but that's a lot to give up for a jab.

^ I was going to respectfully disagree. What El Bastardo described of papa is insightful but the social circles outside of work shouldn't factor in a mandate ... that's common to everyone. It's the people that someone comes into contact with at work (eg. healthcare, teachers, etc.) From his description, it appears that you can count on one hand whom a driver interacts with in one day ... and presumably most of it is outdoors so a mask mandate should be enough and SD. If you weigh the mandate for vaccine for truck drivers vs. the inconvenience of logistics ... I wouldn't pick my battle with truck drivers. Afterall, these drivers could be bringing in hospital PPE's, masks, and you know other important things like food.

Only 15% of truckers aren't vaccinated, that might cause some mild annoyances but it's not gonna cause some massive disruption.

I don't know if some of his colleagues will lose their jobs but he describes this as one of the easiest, most straight-forward routes he's ever had. No sleeping in his rig at Tsawwassen/Duke Point during island runs, no having to twist through the Coquihalla on the way to the interior, and no having to deal with tight streets in East Van or Chinatown.
I'd expect him getting to relax on this job moreso than other points in his career is a big incentive to get the jab. Other guys he knows, I can't speak for.
Where I live you see a lot of smoothbrain logic having folks walking out on, or getting fired from (https://www.texastribune.org/2021/06/23/texas-hospital-houston-methodist-vaccine-employees-fired-resign/) lucrative jobs over vaccine stances. Similar to your story, they'll sacrifice good money because they think the vaccine is nanobots/unholy/population control/whatever.
I work for a local government and while the vaccine is encouraged, its not required. This means we sometimes have entire groups of people out due to a positive diagnosis on their floor. One person not getting the vax and then catching the virus is a net drain on productivity for the people around them and the people they interact with. And they don't even interact with many other people.
If you weigh the mandate for vaccine for truck drivers vs. the inconvenience of logistics ... I wouldn't pick my battle with truck drivers. Afterall, these drivers could be bringing in hospital PPE's, masks, and you know other important things like food.
I agree with this logic and how it is presented. Its time to be realistic about what its going to take to keep us running. As much as I hate saying it because there is a real human cost there, the alternative is worse

This trucker protest is run by Tamara Lich a wexit/maverick/yellow vest supporter. She has raised around 2 mill so far. it's just a big grift. most truckers do not support the protest.
https://cantruck.ca/canadian-trucking-alliance-statement-to-those-engaged-in-road-border-protests/
The vast majority of the Canadian trucking industry is vaccinated with the overall industry vaccination rate among truck drivers closely mirroring that of the general public. Accordingly, most of our nation’s hard-working truck drivers are continuing to move cross-border and domestic freight to ensure our economy continues to function.
The Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA) does not support and strongly disapproves of any protests on public roadways, highways, and bridges. CTA believes such actions – especially those that interfere with public safety – are not how disagreements with government policies should be expressed. Members of the trucking industry who want to publicly express displeasure over government policies can choose to hold an organized, lawful event on Parliament Hill or contact their local MP. What is not acceptable is disrupting the motoring public on highways and commerce at the border.
“The Government of Canada and the United States have now made being vaccinated a requirement to cross the border. This regulation is not changing so, as an industry, we must adapt and comply with this mandate,” said CTA president Stephen Laskowski. “The only way to cross the border, in a commercial truck or any other vehicle, is to get vaccinated.”

There’s no fucking way in hell that POS was doing 200km/h unless the guy had been building speed for 10 minutes
There’s some stretches up the hope Princeton I’ve floored our G37 for like 10-15 seconds I can barely touch 180 with an engine 3 times the size

In a video game, in my stupid teens, I took a similar era Nissan Sentra over those speeds. In a video game.
I'm guessing this was heading west on Hwy1 from Chilliwack to be able to hit over 200 before the the Sumas exit. To do this going east through Abby would be too much of a curve at the Clearbrook exit for this car to handle.

A 5th gen Prelude can get over 200 with a 2.2L so it might be doable. Either way the motor wasn't happy about whatever the speed was lol.

They knew in the 90's that USA's social security cost will outpace tax revenues. Weve also reached a point in infrastructure where there are too many mouths to feed for the low labour needed keeping a profitable empire.
This is also the age of anti intellectualism, the word science has lost all meaning and only what the states ministry of propaganda dictates.
Aside from obvious controlled opposition that spew flat earth 5G mind control diversions, some of it actually fool the low IQ from getting the death jab. It should also be noted that even mainstream media has reported the high IQ percentage of the population has the most Covid vaccine hesitancy.
You dont have to be a globalist elite to understand that all of this isnt for safety or keeping people alive.
Hospitals are death portals now if you have an old person that needs care where covid staff and covid patients are all bundled up together in worthless paper masks. This is the dumbest thing Ive heard yet.

Woman asked to leave Richmond store for use of Cantonese ‘slur’ (https://www.richmond-news.com/local-news/woman-asked-to-leave-richmond-store-for-use-of-cantonese-slur-4989614)
Synopsis:
A woman was asked to leave a Shaw store in Richmond Centre after an employee claimed she used a Cantonese term that some consider a slur, describing a white person as “ghost man” or “foreign devil.”
In late November, Eugene Ho accompanied his girlfriend's mother to the store to get a new mobile number. An employee, whom Ho described as white, asked them if they remembered who helped them the last time.
Ho's girlfriend's mother replied in Cantonese: "I think it's a ‘g----o.’”
The staff person went to talk to the store manager, who was Asian, and then came back to tell them his girlfriend’s mother had to leave the store for using this word, said Ho, with staff claiming it was "equivalent to the N-word based on his understanding."
