I really hope he's a 4foot nothing, 600lb chinaman driving a corvette. We need this sort of representation to widen the car market and to show everyone HEY ITS OKAY TO BUY AMERICAN and youre still badass cool.
I can think of one example of an Asian driver who drive an American car.
My personal trainer that I trained with for five months was a big Korean guy.
Big Sean. Other trainers called him Sparky. LUL
6 foot 1, 236 pounds. A bodybuilder beast with tattoos over his neck and most of his upper body. He drove a newer model Mustang.
Then he traded in the Mustang for an F-150 because the Mustang was getting too small for him. LUL
Not all Asians are small. This trainer was a badass for sure. -crazy hard workouts with this guy.

I was eating right next to their table when this happened.
Luckily, the lady noticed right away and chased after them.
He got scared and ditched the bag outside the parking lot.
Dumbest part was, dude came back to restaurant to ask the servers for his jacket, he accidently dropped with stolen purse.

One person has been taken to the hospital after the car they were driving hit a house in Vancouver’s Langara neighbourhood Thursday.
West 49th Avenue between Ontario and Columbia streets is shut down as crews tend to the situation.
An image shared by Vancouver police shows the vehicle completely upside down against the home. It’s unclear what exactly caused the car to leave the roadway and hit the home.
While buses are getting through on 49th Avenue, police are asking drivers to avoid the area.
It’s unclear how seriously hurt the driver was.

Modern car pillars are some of the toughest areas in the vehicle specifically for events like this - it's to protect the passenger safety cell during rollovers.
They're a bitch and a half to cut through with the hydraulic cutters.

How a fire went from ‘prescribed burn’ to out of control in an instant near Banff
Some residents were evacuated and horses had to be quickly relocated as winds changed direction and pushed the fire out of the control area
A number of the firefighters working on the prescribed burn Wednesday were part of the Women-in-Fire Training Exchange program currently taking place in Banff. Park said WTREX is a training program for experienced firefighters from across the globe and called the team working the blaze the “cream of the crop.”

This was my first and last time at Langley Costco. I thought Burnaby Costco was bad. Langley Costco has to be the craziest Costco I have ever been to. The parking lot was INSANE.

On another note, I was walking around downtown TO on my lunch break and I saw what looked like a white camo (like the camo for hiding/testing new cars) CUV/SUV looking thing, it had similar rear tail lights like a 458 Ferrari where the housing sticks out of the body. I got stuck at a red light and it zoomed off/had too much traffic blocking me from taking a picture of it. Any ideas what it could be?

I go to Scoffs in Burnaby on Parker Street (These guys are older hockey guys through and through). I got them baked and punched for $40. Otherwise, cyclone taylor (these guys are younger guys that probably play hockey) does it and I think some sport cheks (these guys don't necessarily play hockey) do it.
I only got them punched because they were too pinchy for me because my foot got bigger. Or I got fat? I'm not really sure what happened.

Usually when you buy them in store, they just include the baking for free I think? So $40 is the decent rate for this service?

Usually, if you buy the skates from the store, they're included (You should confirm).
I think it'll be less than $40 because I had to get mine punched, if you're just baking them, it should be a little cheaper. You can just call them for the rates and see which one is cheapest. I just go to Scoffs because they're close to me. I would rather go to Scoffs or Cyclone over Sport Chek though.
Also, best to try them on before you buy them online, sizing is highly variable with skates.

Dig around the Driveway and cut out all the roots
Let me rephrase the question.
Anyone have experience on whether the owner of the tree is liable for paying repairs for a broken driveway/carport due to a tree that they owned?
https://i.imgur.com/M1pCN4W.png
Idiot neighbours decided to keep the tree when they rebuilt the house. As it's right on the property line, branches have now covered half of our driveway and the roots are destroying the concrete/asphalt in our driveway and carport.
Apparently my parents tried asking them to split the cost of cutting their tree's branches several years ago and they told my parents to fuck off, so I don't think it'd be any different now. We ended up taking a small ladder and cutting it ourselves, but we haven't done anything about the branches higher up.
Concrete goes all the way to the fence for the driveway area, so can't really dig around it to kill the roots. Not to mention the concerns of cutting the roots of a tree that's as tall as a power pole.
The carport area has a small area to walk through, so I can solve the carport area, but still same concerns exist.
I imagine getting anyone to come out to fix these issues are going to be pretty expensive, and I don't think it's our responsibility to foot the bill. It's not our tree fucking up other people's property.

@Razor I’m not sure what bylaws are in Japan, BC but in Surrey the city has to approve tree removal so maybe that wasn’t a choice for your neighbour if their request was denied.
My neighbour’s tree has done the same to my driveway. My dad thought it might be an invasive species so I went to the city. They said it wasn’t. I was hoping Surrey would’ve been on the hook as they would’ve approved the original neighborhood plans. That said, people can plant trees.. the city would investigate what was approved originally.
I’d start with the city before pissing off a neighbour. That said, the lady next door to me turned 100 recently so I’m leaving her alone regardless lol

I'd get the 77" C2 over the 65" Sony for basically the same price if your room is big enough. The extra screen size would negate whatever extra bells and whistles or a bit brighter display the Sony would bring. Not sure if Costco sells that size though.

I'm in Burnaby. I sent an email to the city to see what they recommend.
I emailed them last time about the overhanging branches and they said we were on the hook.
Thought it was kind of weird because https://www.burnaby.ca/services-and-payments/trees says "As a property owner in Burnaby, you’re responsible for maintaining all the trees on your property." I'm guessing it's only trees that aren't reaching over to someone else's property?
Seems like anything to do with trees in your property is your own responsibility even if the tree isn't yours. Seems kind of fucking stupid, no? If I planted a tree and it was a massive inconvenience to my neighbour, I'm not responsible for anything. I get to reap all the rewards of having a piece of nature and privacy with none of the negatives. Well, I guess if it was super massive like the one my neighbour has, I'd probably have to get someone to trim it every couple of years. Oh wait, they never trimmed our side, those fuckers.
It's pretty shit. The wall of trees pretty much extend our entirety of our driveway and half of the carport if you take a look at the aerial view. Just constant crap from the trees falling down and bird taking shits on our vehicles.
I didn't notice these things before, but since my dad passed away I've had to manage a lot of the things around the house. Or maybe I've just gotten older and things piss me off easily now.
:considered:

05-07-2023, 08:41 PM
All overhang is considered the neighbouring properties tree, you're free to cut any overhang down without even giving ur neighbour a heads up, it's annoying tho
My parents neighbour has this monstrous tree that they never trim, it's growing sideways and overhangs and completely blocks out the sun to the rents, but the branches are so high up I don't think an arborist has a long enough crane to deal with it, something I've got to look into as well
Razor Ramon HG
05-07-2023, 09:17 PM
Yeah, we cut the low hanging ones where we can, but like that tree, our neighbour's are all very tall and would require a professional arborist to come in.
Just hope that your neighbour is nice enough to half and half on the bill, otherwise you're shit out luck and stuck with the bill for something that isn't even your fault. Yeah, some say it's the cost of owning a house, but I strongly disagree. Cost of owning a house should not involve hiring professionals to bring a crane/lift in to cut the branches off a tree that you don't own and other folks in to repair/replace a driveway/carport because of the same tree.
I wonder if the city will see differently about the roots issue. Had to replace our entire roof and carport roof last year, so that was already a reasonable dent in the wallet. Guess replacing the driveway/carport could be next.

When it comes to TVs in my personal experience if it doesn't have any issues in the first year you're good. When were talking OLEDs and QD OLEDs your panel is coming from either LG or Samsung anyways regardless of if you bought a high end Sony or whatever.

Consecutively, our LG TV died a day or two AFTER warranty expired. We have been very lucky (emphasis on lucky) where LG was kind to honour warranty. Keep in mind this is a mid-level television, and not a top-of-the-line model.
We are on our 3rd LG TV replaced by LG themselves but it happens every year litearlly one or two days after the "warranty" expires and it is annoying and inconvenient. I won't be buying another LG TV and after this one dies next month, some time around June 15 - 17 ($10 bet on this) we're turfing it for good. I can't help but believe there is some kind of planned obsolescence on their low/mid-tier televisions.

I bought a 40" Samsung in 2011 and it just won't die and the space above my fireplace is too small for anything bigger / wall with the couch is too close for anything bigger.
Good thing I'm not super into AV tech. I would definitely buy a Samsung TV again though!

Imo the “Sony tax” is justified in that every Sony set I’ve ever owned has worked flawlessly until it’s retired due to age/tech not failure
With my prior nightmare experience with geek squad warantee I will -never- buy a warantee from bestbuy again, nor have I purchased one thing in the 3+ years after my warantee fiasco from them.
The issue becomes, if I am forced to buy a $3000-$4000 TV from best buy and I forgo the warranty, with my luck this is when somthing ends up happening. Especially with new tech like QD OLED..
My dad has had very good success in hounding manufacturers to repair TV’s after warranty lol so I’d think it take that side as opposed to dealing with BB. I would hope Sony would repair or at least assist in repairing their top tier TV if somthing was to go wrong outside of factory warranty but who knows
i swear if old trinitrons had hdmi ppl would still be using them to this day somewhere in their houses.

Sony is doing a bit of a hybrid now with their new panels, but they are still buying from LG
The panel is one thing, and I think it’s pretty much consensus that LG makes the best panels. Imo the difference is in the internal components.
Also these days the OS is also a consideration. I’ve always found Samsung and LG OS to feel very bloated and not intuitive. Sony had a bad spell when they went to their new android system which was complete trash but they’ve since gone back to a simpler style one that most people seem to like. I haven’t tried it yet though
samsung does feel a little bloated but you don't have to really deal with most of the 'bad stuff'.
assuming you just watch netflix or your subscription services or cast to it, then to me it works great.
my dads old sony was the worst! he changed it after about 7-8 years and got a samsung last year and he's way happier. the old one would lag so much and the layout was just awful.

It feels like a lot of money upfront. But when I bought our current TV, Sony XBR830B it was like $2400 for a 55” which I probably had no business spending at the time
But it’s been a fantastic TV for almost 9 years now? Still looks fantastic relative to most other entry level TV’s for sale today. So in hindsight and given how much we use the TV, $2400 over 9 years is a pretty minimal investment

@unit We had a Samsung from 2016 and it was slow as well. It's just that over the years the hardware has improved significantly. Our new 2022 model Samsung is so damn fast. We also learned that we've had issues with Netflix across 3 different smart TVs and it might be a Netflix thing rather than a TV thing.

Practically every OLED TV in existence until 2022 uses an LG OLED panel. Doesn't matter if it's from LG, Sony, Vizio, etc.
Starting last year, Samsung started manufacturing their own QD-OLED panels. It's used in the Samsung S95B and the Sony A95K. Samsung also manufactures pretty much all the OLED (AMOLED) screens used in laptops AFAIK.
My LG C9 started having a bunch of dead pixels last year. I ended up cashing in the cheque from Asurion and then buying an open box Samsung QN90A 65" for $999.
The QN90A gets much brighter for SDR/HDR content since it's LED, but the local dimming and contrast is close enough to an OLED panel. I also don't need to worry about burn in anymore, although I didn't see any on my C9 after 5000 hours.

Joke's aside, you have to play ball like everyone else and join the waitlist in exactly the way you described it.
With luxury tax and the recent bump in prices ranging from 4% to 8% formally announced by Porsche, plus the drawn out wait times, a lot of would-be owners are giving up their allocations, getting their deposits back, and going elsewhere.

Helps a lot to have a relationship with the dealer and be a prior owner as the list isn't in rank order. In the US you sometimes can an ADM (Additional Dealer Markup) which can be $30-50k on a car. Coincidentally, I was at a kids birthday party with the sister of the GM of Porsche Vancouver on Saturday who happens to be a good friend of a friend of mine. I don't think she put a good word for me - probably very much a coincidence.

Haha. I'm waiting for a payout (IPO or similar) of a company I used to work for, gotta wait for the tech investor world to pick back up first. I'm not willing to spend any of my salary on the car cause this is a totally frivolous, excessive, and once in a lifetime purchase that can only be justified by "bonus" money.

It's 175k with taxes. The luxury levy is a real bitch because it's tax on tax. For example at 130k price you have a 6k levy right away and that puts you at 136k. Then its 20% sales tax at that price and you tack on another 27200 in taxes and now you are like 163k and change.

Aren't McLaren / Lambo / Ferrari in the $250k+ range? (and that's before tax)
For Supafamous' situation, I'd recommend looking into leasing the car for now because it'll work to your favour in a number of ways:
1) Your lump sum bonus isn't here yet; lease payments are much cheaper than buying it outright
2) As it stands now, you're getting raped by 2 taxes:
a) the BC luxury car tax
b) the federal luxury car tax
Your purchase price is $129,550, which just puts it into the 15% PST category. As soon as you bring the sale price down below $125k, you'd only be paying 10% PST. That's a $6.5k savings right there.
Page 4, table 2
https://www2.gov.bc.ca/assets/gov/taxes/sales-taxes/publications/pst-308-vehicles.pdf
I am not 100% certain how the federal luxury tax works, but if your lease payments can bring the buyout price to below $100k, then maybe you can avoid taking the full brunt of the federal luxury tax? (I'm sure our lovely federal gov would still make you pay some of the luxury tax with your lease payments.)
Talk to their finance person and see how you can play around with the numbers.

As a previous maserati guy. If you can afford the 170k price tag you’ll be okay to pay for the maintenance. It’s not that that bad. Worst I ever got soaked for was 18k at the dealership but I doubt a California is that bad. F430s are 150-170 all day long. Maybe you can even find a manual f430. Also if you take it to a 3rd party it’s significantly less.
If you’re looking at gorgeous Aston Martin’s they are easily under 200k.
Porsche tax is outrageous. The same “boxster” and “cayman” badge are on used cars with the same names for 20-30k. The general public won’t believe you spent 170k+ on just a boxster or cayman. Plus I just don’t think Porsches look all that exciting. It’s the same lame duck VW beetle design just fatter and uglier with every year and a subaru soundtrack.

With the Evora, my memory might be a little hazy on this since it has probably been 4+ years ago, if not longer. But one time when I was driving an Evora (LHD Canadian car, no less), the foot pedals, steering wheel, and driver seat didn't exactly line up. 991 is surprisingly well-mannered. The car feels really MR with just a hint of rear weight bias. I was honestly surprised very surprised by the balance.
With the Evora, my memory might be a little hazy on this since it has probably been 4+ years ago, if not longer. But one time when I was driving an Evora (LHD Canadian car, no less), the foot pedals, steering wheel, and driver seat didn't exactly line up. I forgot which item it was that was off centered, but my driving position had to be really awkward to compensate for it.
(I think it was an Evora -- pretty sure it was a British brand car.)
Funny you say that cause I actually test drove an Evora 400 today. The whole pedal box is shifted to the right on a LHD car. The three pedals are super small and close together so if you are a size 12 you'll have a bad time. The depth of the pedals are a bit off as well - the gas and brake are on the correct plane to heel toe, but the clutch is way too deep. For me to be comfortable with the gas and brake I would have a hard time reaching the end of the clutch. For me to be comfortable with the clutch meant my right leg will cramp on a long drive. Maybe a spacer on the clutch would help but it was so odd.
Otherwise, great car. It's on the edge of what this tired old body deems to be DD-able. My stiff coilovered 200TW tired M3 feels like a luxury car after.

It’s about time!
Online renewals of passports will start later this year in the fall.
No more lineups at a Passport office for renewals.
New passport design and new security features too.
Laser engraving of passport holder’s information among other new features.
Citynews1130:
Canadians will be able to apply to renew their passports online beginning this fall, says Immigration Minister Sean Fraser, as the government unveiled a new design for the Canadian travel document.
It maintains a deep blue cover with a new outline of a maple leaf and the coat of arms now in the bottom left corner instead of the centre.
Inside images of the country’s history, including Terry Fox and Vimy Ridge, are replaced with images of Canada’s diversity, nature and wildlife.
Among the modifications to the new design, passport holders’ personal information will be laser engraved instead of printed with ink, making the data page more durable.
Other features include a Kinegram over the primary photo, a custom see-through window with a secondary image of the passport holder, a variable laser image, and a temperature-sensitive ink feature.
Starting this fall, Canadians can renew their passport, pay their fees, and upload their photograph securely and conveniently online.
“The new passport celebrates Canada’s heritage and identity with iconic images of Canada’s natural beauty throughout the four seasons,” the feds added.
“It also includes a new cover design with an outline of a maple leaf — the first significant change in decades.”

Welp. Lotus Vancouver just called me and booked me for a test drive of the Emira in 2 weeks time - they have one in for a few days. Sales Manager says they have a couple more slots left (9:30 on the 24th and I think 9:30 on the 25th)
They also have a BGTS with less than a thousand clicks on their lot but it's a PDK. Awesome spec otherwise: https://lotusvancouver.com/listings/2022-porsche-718-boxster-gts-4-0-pdk-2

That boxster looks like the absolute most boring way to spend 140k I have ever seen in my life. If you were to ask me what that car cost I'd say like 58k.
Why not get an older 981 for less than half the price? I know it's not a 4.0 but you could have so much left to do whatever you wanted to it.
A quick look at Porsche inventory has 718 spyders in canada for similar money.

A 981 or a 982S is on the table - just comes down to availability and cash flow. I'm in no rush to buy since my money isn't in yet and I really don't have time to drive it around this year anyways. If I'm flush with cash then I'll just go new and get it exactly the way I want and maybe even go to Germany to get it. If not, I'll be perfectly happy with something used.
re: Boxster - that GTS tickled me more than the 992S manual I drove the year before and the 992 is no slouch. It lit up the right parts of the brain - as close to perfect for me as I've experienced.

Yeah I think if you're paying new money, then speccing it exactly how you want it is a must. Sometimes I forget silver is the way people want to do that, but I think you're more interesting than that haha. The premium totally makes sense if you're building your car, but it's fuckin crazy to me for that one at lotus specifically.

You can probably forget about doing Euro Delivery on the car. I was planning that as well after the amazing experience with BMW, but I have been told by multiple people getting a slot for Euro Delivery is almost as hard as getting a GT car. Unless the stars align perfectly you won't get a ED as a 1st time buyer.

Yup, just talked to my sales guy this afternoon and he said only VVIPs can get it and even then it depends on the car because it affects their margins. Was also told that I need to put $20k of options on the car if I'm gonna get "selected" for a 718. For a 911 you need to put on $35k of options.

Is this the greatest flex in the history of Australia? :considered:
What’s being dubbed the greatest flex in Australian history, millionaire property and LMCT+ raffle magnate Adrian Portelli has craned his McLaren Senna GTR racecar into his newly acquired $39 million Melbourne penthouse.
The $2.6 million McLaren Senna GTR is 1 of 3 examples currently in the southern hemisphere and 1 of 75 available globally. It produces more than 800HP and is winged-out with more than 1000kg of downforce and a DRS system (similar to an F1 car) that helps the Senna GTR reach a top speed of 340km/h. Due to strict ADR rules, the car cannot be registered for road use, only adding to the flex.
In a statement on his Instagram, Portelli explains the flex, “The McLaren was sitting in a factory and I can’t drive it on the road so I decided to have it craned up there instead, it’s now an art piece.”
Living its life at the racetrack as a track toy for millionaires, it seems Portelli purchased the car for an undisclosed sum, took it to the racetrack, did a few shed skids, and then installed it in his penthouse. “

Lol I call it the Thermacell season - I sat on my porch for 5 minutes this weekend and got destroyed by mosquitoes.
The thing diffuses some particle to keep the mosquitoes away so it's best used when stationary - it won't work if you're moving about outside like playing golf or in a windy area. Where is it on sale? Might want a few more of those things..
Costco last time I checked, damn so thermacell is useless for me lol

What's the problem though? Are they living in it or something/
If you just don't like how it looks... well... I mean I don't think he's doing anything wrong, dude maybe has to work?
Well looks like someone in my neighborhood complained and it's now moved into a private parking lot
EDIT: moved onto a pay parking private lot
https://vancouver.ca/streets-transportation/large-vehicles.aspx
If it has a street use permit, you can't do anything about it.
If it doesn't have a street use permit, it's only allowed to park for a maximum of 3 hours between 6am and 10pm.
I'll inquire with the city and find out
What damage is the trailer causing you?
Potentially a safety hazard if they mickey mouse parking and securing the trailer since it's parked on the hill
its diminishing his property value duh!!!! get that plebian trailer trash shit outtta heeeeeere

RIP Deborah Hope. An icon of Vancouver news. The female Tony Parsons. My friend was neighbours with her in Anmore and she was a real class. A true journalist. Sad she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's so early in her life and couldn't enjoy retirement. She wasn't able to remember her husband or children as the disease progressed...

You talking about Martha Stuart, or that overrated as fuck Megan Fox?
Outside of being a Hollywood cum bucket, I literally see no reason why that woman has gotten so many looks. She can't act, her looks are just fine, but I've never seen anything special there.

Just having a shower thought the other day:
Why does's BC's definition of "Close family member" for many things (Ie Vehicle gifting, ending tenancy for close family member use) say that a sibling does not meet that definition?
Like I don't get it. For example my wife is a twin. She literally shared space in her mother's womb with her brother. But the government defines them as "not close"?
WTF.

The reasoning is that parents or children are "one step" from you. Siblings are technically "two steps", 1 to your parents and 2 to the sibling. Grandparents and grandchildren, same idea. Cousins are 3 steps, etc.

That's insane.. siblings are 1 step. Twins are like 0.87 steps

ICBC allows siblings:
“Related individual” means:
(a) a person’s spouse (legally married or living for
a continuous period of at least 2 years with another
person in a marriage-like relationship), child, grandchild,
greatgrandchild, parent, grandparent, greatgrandparent,
or sibling, or
(b) the spouse of a person’s child, grandchild or great
grandchild, or
(c) the child, parent, grandparent or greatgrandparent of
a person’s spouse.
BC employment act also includes siblings.
The Employment Standards Act defines ‘immediate family’ as an employee’s:
Spouse
Child
Parent
Guardian
Sibling
Grandchild
Grandparent and
Any person who lives with the employee as a member of their family.
Additionally, “immediate family” includes the child or parent of an employee’s spouse.

Looking for recommendations for front facing toddler seats that are ideally not so bulky and don't ruin the seats they're installed in. What are some of the more car friendly car seats?

Many car seats explicitly don't allow seat protectors, as the crash tests are done without them.
I struggled with this but eventually I came to terms that slightly creased seats is probably better than a child with a broken neck.

What? That's pretty rediculous Think about it, assuming the seat is strapped in properly, how is a piece of fabric under a seat going to change the laws of physics and suddenly make a seat unsafe?
Neither of my two car seats that I own (Graco 4 ever and Safety 1st High Back 65) make such a restriction.
The Graco actually promotes using a seat protector.
From the manual:
"Vehicle seat protection
Protect vehicle seat. Use a car seat mat, towel, or thin blanket under and behind the car seat"

People go full retard with child seats, I swear... mechanical engineers will be like "It's okay to use x gauge steel on this condo tower it will hold under all but the most intense earthquake it's rated until blah blah blah stress test this and that" but they bump their fuckin car seat against a doorframe on the way to the garage and it's like "It's compromised, throw it out, buy a new one or the baby will die"

I'm not this concerned about car seats at all. Freakanomics radio does a pretty good episode (https://freakonomics.com/podcast/how-much-do-we-really-care-about-children-ep-447/) on the topic talking about car seats as unintended contraception, and that studies show it doesn't improve safety by much at all:
LEVITT: The comparison between children’s car seats and children aged 2 to 6 who were wearing adult seatbelts, no matter how I slice it, I never was able to find any benefit of the car seats in terms of preventing either death or serious injury. Although it is true that in a second paper I wrote with Joe Doyle from M.I.T., we did find that child car seats are about 25 percent better at preventing the least-serious kinds of injuries in car crashes.
I'm just trying to provide my wife the most amount of space while sitting in front of my child who by law has to be in a car seat until some height and weight, and also preserve my car seats in the meantime. I'm happy to comply with car seat laws but was just hoping for suggestions for ones that are less bulky once they can be forward facing.
I can buy another seat protector, which I already have in my daily, but in my summer car (E88), I've seen some people remove the back headrest for car seat clearance, which seat protectors often hang from. I didn't realize I was bringing up a polarizing topic like politics or religion...

A Chinese driver decided to turn into the passenger side of my vehicle today from the middle lane beside me when I was in the left-hand turning lane. I was turning left from 12th St onto Ash St in Vancouver. He turned into me so hard it took both my right-side wheels right off the ground.
Luckily we had a witness who saw it happen, so I'll be covered there, but I'm quite pissed off about any possible depreciation.
My car is in mint condition and I was about to sell it in the next month or so for a profit (it's a 2021).
Is there any recourse through ICBC in terms of residual value lost as a result of claim damage and repairs? Pretty sure there isn't, but I'm curious here.

Depends on the car seat, install angle, your vehicle's seat etc.
The clec fllo we used had a rounded back so it fit better between the front seats rear facing in the middle rear position.
Front facing in a rx350 was fine, but in the Odyssey and a ES350, I needed to take out/reverse the headrest. It was fine in a Rav4.
Didn't.change when I switched to a booster with back. Some vehicles needed the headrest moved, as the kid got taller.
donk.

Curious about this too, always wondered what happens when your car loses 20% of it's value to a rebuilt title or such

Is that still the $ amount? So archaic and ridiculous if so…

Unfortunately there is no recourse. Under Enhanced Care there is no ability to recover for diminished value in your vehicle.
From Overview of Key Changes to B.C.’s Auto Insurance
Information for Auto Insurers
"Can a vehicle owner still sue for accelerated depreciation when a vehicle is damaged?
No. The ban on suing for vehicle damage applies to accelerated depreciation under the new model. In addition, BVDC does not provide coverage for accelerated depreciation. Optional insurers may offer an
Optional product that provides this type of coverage on a first party basis. "

I always wondered about this. How does a seat protector affect the car seat in any way? The car seat is locked in by LATCH anchors or the seat belt, I don't see how seat protector could affect anything. Even if the seat protector had 0 friction, the LATCH anchors or the seat belt would keep the car seat in place.

Appreciate it, didn't think so.
Man that fucking sucks, that is 2 brand new vehicles in a row in which I totally babied for 2-3 years and could've made a profit on. Both cars got into fender benders by no fault of my own. Vehicle before this got rear ended, this one, side smashed.
Damage nowadays is at minimum $5K for even minor body work, which totally fucks my resale value.
