Your gut health is very important. When you take antibiotics, for example, the antibiotics kill indiscriminately. Both good and bad bacteria. It results in massive diarrhea. It takes a long time for your gut to get back to normal.

We travel a lot and throughout the years I've needed to take spouts of Rifaximin to clear bacterial growths in the gut.

You sometimes hope it'll resolve itself with time, but sometimes it doesn't, and you'll need antibiotics to "reset" the gut.

I've tried the whole probiotic/prebiotic dance many times and it never actually resolves the issues like a good clear out does.

I assume you're likely getting fluffy/loose stools which is usually a sign of an overgrowth. I'd suggest asking your doctor for a round of antibiotics to see if it will help, you can then replenish your good bacteria thereafter.

I recall this one time we went on a road trip to coquitlam to drop off a transfer for CP to pickup. It’s one of those rare occasions where we dropped intermodal cars into their VIF yard.

I had probably like 5000ft of cars and basically got the RTC to give us a straight shot from the bridge to coquitlam.intermodal movements are usually prioritized other than passenger trains.

So this is the equivalent of a fast “Ferrari” on the rails as we got green lights all the way. We going along at track speed and this motherfucker foamer comes out of the bush close to the Fraser river bridge and starts snapping. I told my engineer to watch this fucker. If he trips or loses his footing we most likely would have needed to throw it into emergency.

Lo and behold this dumb shit not only trips on the rail but looks like he hurt himself. We throw it into emergency, declare an emergency and are now blocking all these fucking crossings and the bridge.

When a train goes into emergency it can take a while to pump up the air brakes. Sometimes 10-15 or even longer depending on length.

I get off the engine, run up to this idiot and start swearing at him. All the while my engineer is on the horn with everyone telling them what happened.

This motherfucker was faking it !!! He just wanted to get some better photos of us. I was fucking furious. Like I literally was gonna beat his ass with my switch lamp.

Immodium works. Too well. The problem is, your body is trying to get rid of bad food. Same as throwing up. If you throw up, it usually solves the problem.

As for Immodium, I only use it when really fucked and I can’t be sitting on the toilet every five minutes. I take the dissolvable ones. Melts on your tongue kind. I take initial dose and once more after a bowel movement of the liquid kind. The disolvable tablets come in blister packs that can be broken into its individual portion. I keep them in my watch pocket just in case. Really convenient.

BTW, cheapest place to buy the Immodium Disolvables is Costco Pharmacy. Kept behind the counter.

I'm generally more sympathetic to airlines than most people. I get there are challenging logistics that go on behind the scenes and that sometimes they are blamed unfairly for things that truly are outside of their control.

But this is brutal. The fact Air Canada actually went to the trouble of defending themselves and making this argumenet, as opposed to just doing what's right, is terrible. It's customer service 101.

Air Canada, for its part, argued that it could not be held liable for information provided by the bot.

"In effect, Air Canada suggests the chatbot is a separate legal entity that is responsible for its own actions. This is a remarkable submission. While a chatbot has an interactive component, it is still just a part of Air Canada’s website," Rivers wrote.

"It should be obvious to Air Canada that it is responsible for all the information on its website. It makes no difference whether the information comes from a static page or a chatbot."

The airline also argued that the chatbot's response to Moffatt's inquiry included a link to a section of its website that outlined the company's policy and said that requests for a discounted fare are not allowed after someone has travelled.

Rivers rejected this argument as well.

"While Air Canada argues Mr. Moffatt could find the correct information on another part of its website, it does not explain why the webpage titled 'Bereavement travel' was inherently more trustworthy than its chatbot. It also does not explain why customers should have to double-check information found in one part of its website on another part of its website," he wrote.

Clearly the Hao Chi Lai XLBs look better visually. The wrapper is thin but not too thin and the pork soup inside is way more flavorful. They also gave the proper vinegar, look at the color difference. one is dark like molasses, the other one is diluted and dull.

Yep. 90’s cards are worthless. I just started collecting again. What a rabbit hole it is now compared to the good old days.

I had to spend a small fortune to be able to buy boxes to hopefully land a Bedard. You can’t just walk into a store unless you want to pay a premium vs. Investing in previous seasons to get in on ground level pricing.

That said, my son really enjoys spending the time ripping packs open looking for special cards so that helps me feel it is money well spent.

Zhenhuan Lei had dreams of becoming a scientist, his mother said. He'd even conduct experiments late into the night. He once told her "life only affords a few chances."

But now Lei, a 26-year-old University of British Columbia chemistry grad student, is in a vegetative state and doctors say it is unlikely his condition will improve.

In a statement translated from Chinese and provided by her lawyer, Lei's mother Ying Li wrote she feels "as if I have experienced a death."

"A promising life of a future scientist, an ambitious young man, has now turned into lying in a hospital bed every day and staring at the ceiling," the statement read.

Li lays blame for her son's state at the feet of a number of people and groups involved with the Western Canadian Martial Arts Championship (WCMAC), which took place in October 2023.

In a lawsuit filed earlier this month, Li alleges organizers of the martial arts tournament failed to take steps to adequately protect fighters like her son.

She alleges the tournament referees and first aid attendant were unqualified and failed to keep him safe.

She also alleges the World Kickboxing and Karate Union Canada (WKUC) had no standing to sanction the event as B.C. law requires, making the event legally unsanctioned. And Simon Fraser University, the site of the tournament, did not ensure their facility was being used appropriately, the lawsuit alleges.

The allegations have not yet been tested in court. No statements of defence have been filed.

Burnaby RCMP have confirmed they are investigating but would offer no further details.

Li now holds a committeeship — which allows someone to make decisions on behalf of a vulnerable person — to manage her son's affairs. She is seeking damages including the costs of her son's past and future care.

Her lawyer, Erik Magraken, says the lawsuit is seeking accountability and answers about tournament matchmaking, rules enforcement and medical response.

"We're hoping to get answers to all of those questions," Magraken said.
'Very little likelihood' of improvement

In her statement of claim, Li alleges her son fought three bouts at the October 2023 tournament at SFU.

The lawsuit says he was competing in an event called "continuous kick light." Li's lawsuit claims that, in fact, Lei was in a kickboxing tournament. Video of one of Lei's bouts shows him and his opponent wearing boxing headgear, shin guards and gloves.

The event, according to the claim, was advertised as having "light" and "controlled" contact, and athletes with prior pro fighting experience were forbidden from entering.

However, one of Lei's opponents allegedly had competed in Thailand in "what would be classified as a professional bout in British Columbia," and organizers did not stop him from taking part in the tournament.

That opponent allegedly struck Lei multiple times beyond the force allowed and referees failed to enforce the rules. The lawsuit accuses him of battering Lei. It also claims Lei displayed "signs of injury" yet organizers and promoters did not review his condition, and he was allowed to fight again.

After his final match, according to the statement, Lei showed signs of "profound" injury.

"He vomited multiple times," Li's statement reads. "He fell in and out of consciousness."

The statement of claim alleges proper medical care was not ready at the scene. It alleges organizers didn't call an ambulance quickly or communicate with the emergency dispatcher effectively and it took paramedics 90 minutes to arrive.

B.C. martial artists fight to reduce concussion risk for combat athletes

Lei allegedly suffered an acute subdural hematoma, a type of brain bleeding.

"Every passing minute was critical in treating this condition," Li's statement said.

Identical sworn affidavits from two doctors at Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster assert "there is very little likelihood that the condition of Zhenhuan Lei will improve or that he will be able to care for himself in the future."
Defendants offer little comment

The statement of claim alleges tournament organizers tried to skirt provincial safety rules for kickboxing events as a cost-cutting measure by calling the event "continuous kick light." But it was, in fact, a kickboxing competition, the claim alleges, so the WKUC was not legally able to sanction the event.

The World Kickboxing and Karate Union Canada and several people named as operators of that organization did not respond to CBC News requests for comment.

Li spent four months in Canada with her son in hospital. They flew home to China on a medical flight Sunday. An online fundraiser has been launched to help cover what are described as onerous medical costs, including their flight.

"Now, I have to embark on another journey, caring for him in the latter part of his life," she wrote.

It’s cuz in regular automatic mode, the damn thing will never let you go past 3k rpm as it has 10 gears (unless you stand on the pedal). So in all these years she’s never put it in manual and never used the paddle shifters.

Those of you with "complicated" taxes, how much are you paying, and for how much service?

I payed 600$ last year for a few properties (rentals/bought/sold/cap improvements etc), rrsp, some degenerate stonk gambling, single employer

The suggestion from here to get the $10 oil filter wrench from Princess Auto was a major bust. Didn't slip on, so I gave it some love taps with a hammer, when it came to taking it off, it wouldn't come off. Plastic filter housing didn't break, but It's got marks on it now from me trying to get the wrench off.

Need new suggestions on another oil filter wrench before my next change.


I also read somewhere that it's a good idea to change the plastic housing over to the metal housing.....Is it worth changing or just stick with the plastic one. It feels pretty beefy as is.

My MS3 had a plastic filter housing and it was fine. But eventually the plastic started to wear down and round and I swapped to a canister housing that was from another car.

i bought the motormaster oil filter adapter for toyota's and had the same problem. It would get stuck on the damn oil filter and make it next to impossible to take off without bashing it with a hammer.

Im trying this new product when i do the oil next time. Hopefully it'll work better
