Was hoping some asian places would offer it for cheaper
Btw, it's not for official passport application...but for an international drivers licence permit, as required by BCAA. They just want a "passport like" photo...so I'm assuming it doesn't have to be that official?
Does anyone know if you still need the guarantor signature on the back?

This shit is fucking lame, "Mine was "I have twins and I'm one sale away from a bonus" "this employee pricing event means we're barely making money on cars" "you have a mercedes, a little extra payment wont hurt you""
He's begging you for money. I would seriously and literally say, "that is lame" and walk.
Here's how you buy a car from these guys. First, you make sure that every number is reasonable. Then you go in, channel some Vince Vaughn circa wedding crashers or something, and say, "nope, no need for that paper yet. Here's the deal, I'm going to make it simple. I want to buy a car today. I'm not dicking you around on that, so I hope I'm talking to a guy that doesn't want to do the same to me. So, I need to see x dollars on the trade. I need to see y dollars on the F150 that we looked at. We need to add tax to that, and $150 in documentation fees. Nope, I know you want to get in on that and you're going to tell me that the fee isn't negotiable, but you and know that everything is negotiable. And the interest needs to be 4% on the balance. Now, I know you need to go and talk to people, but I have to tell you that I am not above going to other dealers. Hell, I'll drive to Kelowna shopping this deal to every Ford dealership I find. I think its reasonable, so I just need to know if we're good, or if you are holding the door open for me"
Boom. If your numbers are reasonable, its alright...if you try to rip them off, they'll just FO you.
This is exactly how I bought my last two vehicles. Both times, I phoned the salesman back with my OTD number and told them if they can make that happen, then call me back. If not, don't call back. I then inform them that some salesman, at some dealer, will realize he can make a quick deal simply by saying yes. Both times, I walked out with the deal agreed upon.
Though I do remember VW insisting I pay their $145 documentation fee on top of the negotiated price. I said hey, let's just buy it on a hand shake then - they waved the fee.
I fucking hate the new Spence Diamonds ad. I laugh at most of them, but ths new one is so fucking over the top. It basically tells guys that a diamond ring will keep their girl from leaving them. "It's a symbol of your love. When you're away, it will remind her of your love for her......" WTF? If a diamond ring is going to ensure your gf stays with you, then you need to get a new gf. I wish I could find the script - it is so sickening.
A girl should love you for who you are, yes? Not because you bought her a diamond ring. If she looks at another guy and goes, "Wow, he turns me on........ wait........ this diamond ring........ right..... my bf gave me this expensive as hell, ring. OK, I'll just take it off and then fuck that other guy, LOLOLOLOL.
Ads like this never work on people with half a brain, but there are a lot of people out there who are insecure and paranoid.
BTW, I get it. "Love our diamonds, hate our ads." At least it sticks in people's minds. Just like Ian and Steve at that Mopar car stealership. "We're Closer Than You Think!"

According to mastercard, it's hapened to a shitload of people who shopped at the same place I did. Some employee somewhere scanned cards and took/intercepted info. It's under investigation, but they can't say for sure. I hope they nail the fokkers.

I think my mom would say the one on the right.
Now, if my mom saw me with one of those, she would hit me with one of those and say something like, "I did not give birth to no sissy." And, my father would just hang his head down low and shake his head.

Just random thoughts for those whom love Vancouver...
I moved (back) to Edmonton Feb of this year to help a friend with his company, he was struggling to find the "right" people and I decided to help him out for a year.
Now having been here for nearly 7 months, I can honestly say that Vancouvers reputation as one of the best cities in the world is certainly well deserved. - Not that I didn't already feel that way before I moved :s
Edmonton is a cultural shithole, there is nothing here, traffic is bad on the weekends because there is nothing to do except drive and shop... people here are, for the most part, driven entirely be materialistic desires.
The weather sucks, sure the statistics tell you that Edmonton would get a lot more sun and a lot less rain then Van... and that is true for the winter, the summer here is much worse, not a single day has passed where the sky was completely free of clouds. Every weekend my plans to enjoy a sunny weekend at Sylvan Lake fall apart due to the weather, this weekend will be second one of the "summer" where I might actually be able to enjoy the water... and the water is filthy and full of silt btw, thank god we have access to a boat as the beach is completely packed with douchebags.
Douchebags, for every hipster in Van there is like 50 douchebags in Edmonton, that's what you get when you have a labor pool that pays unskilled morons an abnormally high wage... all the douchebags from all over Canada moved to Edmonton so they could buy the complete Ed Hardy collection.
Cost of living, sure there is no PST, but housing does not seem any cheaper to me, utilities are worse, and it even seems as though auto insurance is about the same :s Probably because the drivers here are absolutely terrible, I see at least one accident every single day, and I live like 5km from the office!
Thank god for the friends I had in Edmonton from when I lived there before, I can't imagine how much this city sucks for people that are completely new to the city. Lots of really good people here... sadly they are outnumbered by the assholes.
Van is beautiful, clean, the people care about the city, people seem to be more educated, being a douchebag actually means something (it means you're a douchebag), you don't need to drive everywhere, the food is amazing, services are better in all industries, the beach is great, the mountains are money in the winter, the air smells delicious, everybody drives 20-30km/h over the speed limit all the time, nature is everywhere, potholes are virtually non existent, and a million other little random reasons why Van is epic.
So ^$&# you Edmonto!, And Van, I will see you again early 2014. I will move DT and hug every single gay person I can get my hands on, compliment hipsters on their "super original" taste in clothing and music, and always yield for C-lai drivers with the sun shades.

Holy crap, if I could thank you a thousand times I would.
While I don't actually live in Alberta, apparently I've moved to the Albertan's favourite holiday spot in the Interior. I literally see more vehicles with Alberta plates while driving around now than I do BC plates. Without any type of hyperbole, I'd say 95% of the Albertan vehicles are jacked up pickup trucks with some douchebag behind the wheel. These guys will do nothing buy sit on your ass, tailgating you even when you yourself is stuck behind a large lineup of traffic. The other 5% are either seniors or families and, bloody hell, it's like they're afraid of the mountain roads around here. Speed limit is 100? Okay, let's do 70 on the straights and then drop down to 40 as soon as you spot a corner that has any sort of drop off on the side. Oh, but then as soon as a passing lane opens up, they stay in the left lane and speed up as fast as they can until it drops back into single lane... where they proceed to slow the fuck down again.
I usually enjoy driving the Coquihalla and don't have an issue with Hwy97, but these idiots are all ruining the zen state I've been in since I moved up here.
:yuno:
Oh, three days running, I've driven from my place to Vernon and back (which is about a 20 minute drive) and every day I've seen a pretty bad accident usually involving at least one vehicle missing the entire front end of its car. Anyone care to wager what province the plate on the back reads? lol
I miss Richmond C-Lai drivers. :okay:

Regional Recycling locations will purchase scrap metal, as well as the ordinary Return-It services. The US origin of the cans may prevent them from being refunded as bottle returns, but not from being sold as scrap. They have locations in Burnaby, Richmond, and Vancouver, as well as other areas.

Famous Sriracha 'Rooster Sauce' finally makes the move to new Irwindale factory - The Daily Breeze (http://www.dailybreeze.com/news/ci_23711329/famous-rooster-sauce-finally-makes-move-new-irwindale)
IRWINDALE - Huy Fong Foods founder David Tran designed the chili hopper at his new factory with a model constructed from pieces of a manila envelope.
The 69-year-old Chinese entrepreneur built his Sriracha spicy chili sauce empire from the ground up just a few months after immigrating from Vietnam as a refugee in 1979. Next month, he'll move his now flourishing business into a brand new 650,000 square-foot factory.
"Thirty-three years in business
Huy Fong Foods, Inc. holds a groundbreaking ceremony for the company's new facility on Azusa Canyon Road in Irwindale Oct. 6, 2010. (SGVN/Staff Photo by Sarah Reingewirtz)
and we still only have three products, it says a lot," said Executive Operations Officer Donna Lam, who is Tran's sister-in-law. "I think we are a little bit different."
Tran founded his business in 1980 in Los Angeles Chinatown and moved to a factory in Rosemead six years later. Since then, business has exploded; he now sells his famous sauce in every U.S. state and every continent across the globe, with the company's newest customers in Libya. To keep up with demand, the company had to build the new $40 million facility in Irwindale, which more than doubles the square footage of the Rosemead factory.
Tran works seven days a week in all aspects of the business, even down to installing the electrical wiring on the factory's new chili washers and mashers.
"When I'm not here, I'm always thinking about my business," Tran said.
The new building was erected in 2011, with the help of city of Irwindale redevelopment funds, but Tran's meticulous methods, custom designed and self-installed equipment have slowed down the move, said Director of Operations Adam Holliday, who is Tran's son-in-law.
"We are doing a lot of the installation ourselves, that's how (Tran)
has always done it," Holliday said. "I remember when I first started working here, he would hire a plumber, for example, and he would watch him and he would say, 'That's easy,' and then he would do it himself."
The big move into the new factory has also had to work around the strict production schedule for the three chili sauces Huy Fong produces. The company harvests all its chilies -- which last year was more than 50,000 tons -- from one farm, Underwood Family Farms in Ventura, once a year around the third week of August.
Last year Huy Fong produced its first batch of chili sauce in Irwindale, but had to truck the finished product back to Rosemead for bottling. Huy Fong makes all of its bottles and one-ton chili storage barrels in-house and packages them to be picked up by a distributor. Now, the bottling equipment is almost completely installed in Irwindale, and Holliday said the company hopes to be in full operation for the upcoming harvest season in August or the beginning of September.
Tran, who lives in Arcadia with his wife, said he decided to make his own version of the Thai-inspired Sriracha chili sauce because the options already in existence didn't satisfy his taste.
"The other sauces out there were not using fresh chilies," Tran said. "Hot sauce, you make it your way. You don't try to copy someone else. I wanted to make it as fresh as possible."
He first started producing the sauce while still in Vietnam, bottling it in baby food containers and selling it out of his home. When he started making it in the U.S. he assumed it would mainly serve the local Vietnamese community.
"I started my chili sauce business where I lived ... for our Vietnamese community. I never thought we could sell it to the mainstream," Tran said. "We started from very small."
Even as his product's reach has expanded, Tran has maintained a family-oriented business. Both of his children work for Huy Fong, as do their spouses. Holliday said the company only employs 50 people year round, adding about 100 temporary workers during the harvest season. Holliday says the company tries to "stay humble and make a product people like," and continue to offer the product at a low price.
"My sauce is the rich man's quality for the poor man's price," Tran said. "I need money but I don't need to be a billionaire. I need to keep the price low so that everyone can enjoy it."
And it appears Tran's goals have been achieved, as the chili sauce has made its mark throughout the San Gabriel Valley and way beyond. A local company even prints and sells T-shirts, pins and other merchandise with the "rooster sauce" logo.
The sauce has also made an appearance in a few videos from comedians David and Andrew Fung, who create music videos representing the Asian community in the San Gabriel Valley.
Andrew Fung said the sauce has become somewhat of a celebrity in its own right, especially in "the 626."
"The sauce is pretty much ubiquitous, in every pho restaurant, it's on every Vietnamese table and even American restaurants have it," Fung said. "I think it's pretty cool that a sauce that started here in Rosemead is worldwide now."
And Tran said the company will only keep growing -- at least as fast as the farm can grow more chilies. Even as the company prepares to complete the big move, he said he's already looking forward.
"Every year we increase business by 20 percent, so in 2017 we will have no more room" in this factory, he said.

Went to a sushi place and saw a couple come in, the girl was obviously preggo, like 7 months in maybe more.
I just casually watched them order, they spoke chinese and I did not understand but when the food came it was D:?!?!?
ALL SUSHI AND SASHIMI! Like what regular people eat n shit on a nice day out. This obviously was some sort of special occasion as they did order some pricy things. I was so close to getting up and telling them that she shouldnt be eating raw fish...

"They" say you shouldn't....but I don't think there would be anything wrong with eating it once or twice while pregnant.
I imagine there are millions of Japanese women who continue to eat sushi while pregnant. (this is just an assumption).

Yes. No. Nothing.
There's no conclusive evindence, linking the consumption of sushi to birth defects/pregnancy related issues. Having said that, I would still stay away from mollusks, bottom-feeders, mackerel and tuna.

Saw this happen at Richmond the other day. This old lady with a cane was standing at a parking spot wating for her son or family to do a U-turn to take the spot.
There was a car that saw the spot frist and was already half way in. Funny thing is this car just turn off the engine and started playing on his phone while the guy that did the U-turn started horning. Pretty funny scene.

same thing happened to mine, i hired a guy to check it out, he pulled out what looks like a circuit board and said it's dead, replaced it and started working again.
i forgot how much it cost, a few hundred I think.

We'll see how good your warranty is. Did you know some warranties cover food loss/spoilage? At least part of your fridge works, my Samsung died completely. Took, like what seemed to be, forever to get it replaced. I have two fridges, a couple of freezers, so it was OK, but for some, it can be a nightmare to be without a fridge for weeks.

OK, whoever feeds squirrels, because they think it's cute to feed these fricken varmints, needs to stop it.
These so called cute furry things are a nightmare. Wait until they take over the neighbourhood. They will get into your car's engine in the winter and chew the crap out of your wires causing considerable damage........ maybe not as expensive as replacing a broken keyhole on an Acura, but close.
If that's not enough, they will find their way into your gutters and soffits and cause extensive damage.
How do I know somebody has been feeding these fricken pests? My lawn is filled with peanuts. As far as I now peanuts don't grow in this part of the world. Ask Jimmy Carter.
Also, I've noticed more coyotes wandering around the neighbourhood. They eat squirrels. More squirrels = more coyotes. /rant

If its mildly cooling to not cooling at all, and the freezer portion is working, chances are more likely than not the fan is gone. This just happened to mine as well and I was able to fix it and not buy the official part, i just frankensteined it together. If you to buy the part its lik 300 bucks.

The whole Best Buy/Future Shop chain is going through major changes. Look at the BB website and they have furniture and mattresses, among other things.
They could probably make a go on purely electronics, but not the margins. BB also got rid of car audio completely. Furniture has high margins and a different buying pattern(not all centered around xmas).
Their retail sales last year were slaughtered, so its all hands on deck to sell pretty much anything to make a buck.
My prediction is, they'll hurt the brand as no one will go to Best Buy for a mattress or sofa unless its cheap. No one will take future shop srs if thats where you can also buy ginch.
I don't think they have a solid plan. Sales will dwindle, and they will continue to shutter stores until they find a balance.

Scotland Yard opens case investigating claims of Princess Dianas death
The Royal Military Police handed over some evidence to the Yard involving an SAS member (special forces)
LONDON — Scotland Yard has launched an investigation into new claims that Diana, Princess of Wales, was murdered by a member of the British military.
It said Saturday night that it had asked specialist detectives to examine new allegations and evidence passed to it “recently”.
The claims were given to the force in the last few days by the Royal Military Police, who were told of them by the parents-in-law of a former soldier, sources said.
The dossier is said to include a reference to the SAS and to the Princess’s “secret diary” according to one report. Scotland Yard declined to confirm the content or origin of the material.

Geronimo Narciso, Truck Driver Dies After Accidentally Shooting Off Own Penis (http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2013/08/16/geronimo-narciso-truck-driver-dies-accidentally-shooting-off-penis_n_3767528.html)
A truck driver has died after accidentally shooting off his own penis.
Geronimo Narciso had been drinking with friends in Pangasinan, in the Philippines, when he produced his gun and fired it twice into the air.
He was tucking the gun into his waistband after his friends implored him to put it away, when it fired into his crotch, ABS.CBN News reported.
The 37-year-old was rushed to a nearby hospital but he was declared dead on arrival.
Though police say there are no signs of foul play, Narciso's family insist he did not own a gun and have demanded a further investigation.
Senior Inspector Ryan Manongdo said a pistol with four live ammunitions and spent shell were found in the area, the Inquirer.net said.
Earlier this year a security guard in Trinidad and Tobago accidentally shot off his penis with an illegal gun.
The Trinidad and Tobago Guardian reported the man survived the incident but was expected to be charged with illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
Accidental penis shooting accidents were also reported in Florida, Arizona and Washington in 2012, the Independent revealed.

BBC News - Judge approves man's sterilisation in legal first (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-23721893)
A High Court judge has sanctioned the sterilisation of a man "in his best interests" in a landmark legal ruling.
The 36-year-old, from the Midlands, has learning difficulties and already has a son, born in 2010, with his girlfriend.
Mrs Justice Eleanor King ruled that a vasectomy could take place after hearing that another child could cause the man "psychological harm".
Experts said he was capable of sexual consent but did not have the capacity to make decisions about contraception.
The case came to court because of undisputed evidence that the man - referred to as DE - does not have the capacity to decide whether or not to consent to sterilisation, meaning a judge had to make the decision.

New horror film coming out
http://cdn.bloody-disgusting.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/Squirrels_poster-watermarked-691x1024.jpg
Red Sea Media is in the process of assembling a strong slate for the upcoming Marché du Film, including Squirrels, a new horror-thriller that the company has just acquired international sales rights for from Bazelevs, Timur Bekmambetov’s production company. Bekmambetov is best known as director of the hit international films Night Watch, Wanted and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. The film was written by Daniel Antoniazzi & Ben Shiffrin, based on an idea by Bekmambetov.
“When a young man’s estranged father is killed under suspicious circumstances, he returns home for the first time in years to get to the bottom of the mystery. Hoping to uncover some logical explanation, he instead finds his mom’s sleazy new boyfriend, a natural gas company buying up the town, an angry female sheriff who happens to be his ex-girlfriend, and an army of flesh-eating squirrels hellbent on destroying everything in their path due to an erosion of their food chain as a result of environmental destruction by the gas company.”
Lisa Ellzey and Michele Wolkoff are executive producers. The production is currently setting a director, with an A-list cast expected to sign shortly. The Red Sea sales office at the Marché du Film will be located at the Lerins venue, booth #R19. Additional sales titles from the company will be announced in the coming days.

Oh my gawd -- squirrels are HORRIBLE.
~10 years ago, we had a family of squirrels invade our house attic and the garage attic by eating through the soffits. It took us 2 weeks of water hoses, supersoakers, and traps to finally get rid of them all:badpokerface: They destroyed a few panels of our soffits and one or two window screens

I want tickets to a concert that's sold out. I'm buying more than one ticket so I'll be giving a person off craigslist a large amount of cash. I don't want to get screwed -- is there any way for them to transfer me the ticket that ensures they're 1) Valid, and 2) they won't be able to take them back once I pay for them?
Thanks in advance, Revscene.

Perhaps try to meet at a ticketmaster location to verify authenticity?

House of Knives, maybe department stores like The Bay or Sears. Also maybe Homesense.
Night market has em too.

Yep, most department stores will have flasks. I got mine at the now defunt Zellers.
Honestly...you rarely use the thing. I've had mine for 2 years? used it less than 5 times? The opening to pour is a pain, you need a funnel.

ebay if you're not in a rush..
got mine at duty free coming back from the states. Cost me $10 but I rarely use it.
Agree that it is a pain in the ass to fill and needing a funnel.

Anyone know what model those new electronic dart machines that are popping all around Richmond are? Looking to see if they are affordable.
If not, could anyone recommend me some nicer looking electronic dart machines?
From what I heard, those big arcade style dart machines are leased by Dartslive. I don't think you can buy one for personal use. Pheonix Dart Machines, another large name in dart machines/tournaments will also be popping up in and around Vancouver soon. Pretty sure they will also be leased + shared coin drops.

Just a friendly reminder to people
you're supposed to pull over and stop when an emergency vehicle has their lights/sirens going and are approaching
also you're not supposed to follow right behind them...

Yeah, some people are really stupid. I have to purposely cut off people to get them to pull over. Not only are they deaf, but they're fucking blind. LOL at those idots who stop right at the intersection, blocking all access for emergency vehicle to get by.
I swear, some drivers purposely get in the way. One day, it's going to be someone they know that'll die because the emergency vehicle didn't make it in time.

What's worse is after you pull over and the emergency vehicle has passed, some idiots won't even let you back out and speed past you.

So I got a Notice and Order today and the officer wrote "tires scrub body". My car is too low, I get it.. Haha.
Would anyone happen to know the minimum ride height that would pass the VI? I couldn't really find anything besides this:
Clearance height
7.091 A motor vehicle with a gross vehicle weight rating of less than 4 500 kg must have a minimum clearance for all parts of it, other than the wheels in contact with the level roadway, that is no lower than the lowest point on the rim of any wheel in contact with the roadway.

oh is that 2 dogs? a poodle?
Very true. I think it's also a dual purpose lane, perhaps for bikers. That could be dangerous for doggies and the cyclist.
Both are idiots.

theres no extra charges in canada for data. your voice plan is a different story though.. you'll get charged whatever the going rate is for long distance calls in canada. incoming should be free i believe. again, it all depends on the plan you've got.
Have a screw in a tire but it isn't leaking. Any know a good place to get it fixed and how much it will cost? The screw is right in the treads and not on the sidewall.
