Transit should be an essential service. Maybe not full capactity, but some kind of reduced capacity is better than nothing.
If people like care aids, nurses, doctors, emergency dispatchers, etc are essential services, then the system that gets them to and from work should be essential too.
I feel bad for people who are stuck right now.

Japan does it right - when bus drivers strike they refuse to collect fares. System is 'undisturbed', employer suffers financially.

Aren't new apartment buildings allowed to have less parking based on the proximity to transit too?

Yeah, and us drivers that can't operate the bus today don't get paid. We're getting forced to take 2 days off because the 180 supervisors. 180 of them affect the 4500 of us. We've been instructed not to cross the picket lines at all. We have strike pay and would be able to use it if we were the ones on strike but we're not so it doesn't apply in this scenario. This is garbage
Japan does it right - when bus drivers strike they refuse to collect fares. System is 'undisturbed', employer suffers financially.
The issue is that we drivers aren't on strike, it's the supervisors and transit control. So let's say that we take the bus out to operate, if we have any issues, they're the ones that are supposed to help us out but they're not available. Knowing this, would you still want me to go to on the road and operate the bus?

You’d be amazed how many people don’t pay regardless. No joke the route I take I see like 10-15% of people push through the handicapped gates at skytrain or just walk on the bus and not tap their cards. I don’t fault the bus driver in not trying to collect because who wants to deal with some skid over $2.75

Yeah, we can drive any ride share with or without the strike. We just have to be mindful of the NSC for maximum # of driving hours allowable per week.

I worked in an outdated company, where my sole job was to digitize years and years and YEARS worth of paper documents and bring the company into the Now Times™️. These rubber bands were perfect for binding stack after stack of ancient scrolls and tomes together as they awaited their inevitable end (via shredder).
Due to COVID, I began working from home. My office moved to my comfy house desk, and my coworkers became..... well, cats. And if cats love anything, it's playing with trash not meant for them! Thus, my giant rubber bands became giant cat toys. I would slingshot these bad boys down the hall, and my coworkers would LOSE IT. Rubber bands quickly became Marshall's go-to toy! He'd carry them around, sleep with them, hide them for later. It was all good fun!
But... I felt the need to hire a new employee. Eugene came fully vetted and his previous employers sang his praises! I thought it was a perfect match. However, they failed to mention his one flaw. Eugene likes to eat everything. EVERYTHING. If it will fit in his throat, he's going to swallow it. Even metal! In the days since this fateful incident, I've caught him with knives, wrenches, scissors, and screws in his mouth. Just walking around with KNIVES. An HR nightmare.
Unfortunately, not armed with this knowledge, I let him go about his business unsupervised. I caught him chewing on one of Marshall's precious rubber bands... Oh no! Never experiencing a cat actually GNAWING on the rubber band, I decided it would be best to take all of them and put them away.
But..... do you remember how Marshall liked to stash them???
Marshall uncovered a rubber band, offering it to his new friend. Eugene then chewed the band until it was one long SEVEN INCH STRAND. Then, I imagine, he ate it Lady and the Tramp style. Except instead of a cute little kiss, he was greeted with tummy aches and surgery. All of this happening within his first week of employment!!!
The vets pulled out the entire 7 inch strand, fully intact, as though it wasn't just sitting in stomach acid for who knows how long. Amazing! The color was still a vibrant blue. Astounding!
Although these rubber bands are the best rubber bands I've ever owned, I sadly had to cut them up, throw them into a trash bag, throw the trash bag into the dumpster, and stand watch until the garbage truck hauled them away. I can no longer use hair ties - only thick fluffy scrunchies. My life has changed since Eugene came into my life, not necessarily always for the better, but his cute little face makes up for the fact that I can no longer keep my papers bound together.

I notice this numbnut stopped a good two car lengths from the stop line. I roll down my window and make a circle in the air and point to the pressure sensor (they’re round in Burnaby). I then do a pushing hands together to mimic pressure. I do this few times. Sure enough, the dedicated left turn signal doesn’t go on. I then waved him to drive forward. I should have done that first, but damn, some people are clueless. I have no idea what kind of person it was………….. doesn’t matter, ‘cause dumb doesn’t discriminate.

Dad's GC's amp died. Went to take it apart to see what it is so I can replace it with a correct one from ebay or something. Finds his back seat and trunk full of water.
There's two culprits, either the frameless windows or his sunroof drains are clogged. But it's looking more likely the door/window seals

Officially rejected due to Intellectual Property grounds, but really, whomever submitted that has trouble counting to six.
Looking over the list, there are a fair amount of people who can't.

Does anyone know how credit score actually work?
I was just checking it as both me and wife have free credit monitoring. And while mine was always modest... like in the mid-high 700s. My wife is at a whopping 88x.
Not like I've been having problems getting anything I need. But I'm wondering what makes the difference between us.
We file taxes together. Our CCs are shared and always paid on time, both with mortgage of some kind and car loans at some point in life.

I dont think anyone knows how that shit actually works.....
It is strange that yours is so much lower, if everything is shared.
Did you cancel any old personal CCs recently? Open/close any form of accounts? Heloc? Etc?
Mine is usually quite high, but anytime i buy, remortgage, or sell a property it drops by 100-200 points, as it should
One time my credit dropped by 180 points out of the blue, so i went down the rabbit hole of contacting the credit bureau report people (equifax / transunion i think, this was years ago). And after wasting several hours talking / emailing people, noone could tell me the reason. Also the reports they provide is like deciphering a scroll from the 19th century unless your trained in credit reports
If you find out why, report back

i think it depends on how much % of your credit you are utilizing and if youre payments are on time or not. So if you messed up one or two payments accidently it'll reflect badly in your credit score for that month or two.
Also if you dont utilize your credit at all (no creditcard debt, no mortgage, no car payment, etc) then it also goes down.

How long before credit is back to "normal" after someone finishes with debt consolidation? 6 months? 1 year? 2? 5?
i think my score is about 850 which is considered high. doesn't mean you're rich or smart, just means you had a lot of credit products throughout your life and always paid on time.
it's like a measure of trust. you could be a trustworthy person but unless you're regularly put into a position of trust and never disappoint, then how could anyone know you're trustworthy? the more times you're tested and succeed the higher your score is. at least thats how it works in my head! i don't know the fine details of it.

This is so true ... 100% when I read it !! It's some weird mix of credit card, parking tickets (if it goes to collecting agency), loans, rental, mortgage, bank history, in some witches brew and a number comes up. I don't even know if a high number is good or a low one ... :lol
I think Equifax and whatever Credit Score company is behind data breaches of banks and credit cards. They break in ... then there is a report of data breach of your credit card or bank, then they 'gift' you a year of this shitty service at Equifax for free. :suspicious:

I was up in the 880 before until we bought a house. Then it dropped to something like 790. I don't care anymore since I have no big purchases coming up.
But yeah the typical answer of debt load, total available lines, repayment, deliquencies, queries. There was a story from a friend that a person went to look at a car at Applewood, and they did half a dozen hard queries on his credit despite not even seriously looking and it tanked their credit score.
My wife fucked up a few years ago when she had $30 on her US credit card that she forgot for a few months and it dragged her score down to the 600's. She couldn't even get the Costco Mastercard when they swapped from AE to MC as her credit score was too low and Capital One won't approve her.

mhh... now to think of it, I did apply for an AMEX Platinum (thinking that they are like their US counterparts with no FX fee but in CAD, already have the US one for business). When I got the card and noticed that the feature I wanted wasn't listed. I just canceled it. Maybe that's what's up.

But I don't think it's the amount of credit that one has access to though. RBC fucked up once. She was wearing jeans at the time, and I literally cringed and froze for a split second. Then I mentioned something else to distract her so that she would get her butt off my car, and I wrapped it up fairly soon and dropped her off.

She was a very shapely lady, but she was wearing jeans -- the type that has those tiny metal buttons / rivets on the pants pockets! I swear I was expecting dents from the rivet / button into the fender when I checked it afterwards, thankfully, there were only some barely visible scuff marks against the clearcoat and they buffed out.

did anyone else do the S24 pre-order? can't believe of paper weight S7 Edge is worth $450 to Samsung lol.
There's a few threads on RFD of people sharing their horrible time with the 3rd party company that manages the trade ins. The $450 trade in bonus is apparently subject to trade in assessments and people have been scammed out of value because the 3rd party company claims things were broken when they weren't. I don't know if anyone answering "no" to all the trade in questions have also been ripped off.

When I got my s22 ultra, I traded in a phone with a broken screen. The trade in itself was worth zero, but they still gave the promo at the time for trading something in.

I pre-ordered the S23 last year trading in my Note 8 and didn't have any issues. Granted my Note was barely used and looked new.
I was slightly worried from reading all the comments on RFD, so I took a bunch of photos of my phone before sending it off.

From the Samsung website, you could select whether your trade in was damaged or not. It also didn't seem to affect the trade in value? I could be wrong, had a friend help me sort all of this out since we both had S7 Edges to get rid of lol. I honestly wasn't even thinking about getting a new phone. I'm still quite happy with my S20 5G. But hey, if Samsung wants to take my garbage for that price, I'm in :lol

I was at the Canucks game on Saturday and they announce that chef Stephen Yan is in attendance during the Lunar NY celebration and spotlight him. I go nuts cheering and whistling because he was the first chef I watched on tv as a youngster with my HK buddy Anthony who moved here in ‘89. I tell the story to my son and he’s been asking me about it since so I’ve been googling videos and fun facts.
So while doing the aforementioned googling I learn that the chef I was actually watching was Martin Yan sooo… shit. Seems I’m not the only one to make the mistake though. Listen to Martin at the 9 minute mark:

Even though Iron Chef was good, my go-to Japanese cooking show is Dotch Cooking show. OMG those ingredients are just nuts.
We went as far as ordering some of them (bottled condiments like soy sauce and whatever) from Japan. I remember the soy sauce was incredible. A Chinese stew with that soy sauce was heaven. But damn a 1L bottle was like 100bucks to have it shipped and I had to bother my friend in Japan to do the proxy for us.

Thanks for the reminder that its back. Gotta get some over the weekend.
On unrelated note, went down to Point Roberts to grab a package. Roads don't have many street lights down there but their road lines, oh man, it was like heaven driving through a video game with reflective lines as far as the eye can see.Kreygasm
The last time I was in Point Roberts was when all border crossings except Point Roberts was closed due to Covid. Didn't see any lines on the road because of 8 inches to a foot of snow on the road. No lights, no lines.......... only saving factor was nobody was on the roads. It was so bad, opening of crossing was delayed due to having to clear the snow.

i'd post in the home forum but lets be honest this gets more traffic.
i have a front step that unfortunately doesnt get covered by the roof overhang enough to prevent from getting wet. the problem is that the step either sunk or was poorly made to begin with, and it slopes towards the house. i want to fix this this spring, ideally i'd like to slope it a few degrees away from the door so the water runs off. could i just buy a bag of concrete and trowel it on? it appears to be concrete that's been painted, im guessing that sanding it a bit would help the new concrete stick better. i think in the high spots it could be as much as 2" and right at the edge of the step it would be pretty much thinned out to meet the existing corner. i also considered self leveling concrete or epoxy but then i wouldnt be able to slope it away from the house. never used concrete before in my life, but it seems like a diy project.
i should also say that because of the way the entrance is, the step is basically surrounded by the house, i cant jack it up or anything from the sides.

Looking at picking up some ZR10 wheels that are 18x8.5" with available offsets of +38 and +47.
For reference, mine are currently 18x8" +40 and is fairly flush.
From my research online:
* If I get +47, there is about a pinky left of clearance between wheels and the struts.
* If I get +38, I'd get some decent poke. Some people have it flush with fenders, but they're lowered.
I'm leaning towards the +47 because I don't want any poke, but the clearance issue is a slight concern. I know I can add a spacer in the future if I need to, but I'm reading they add more stress to your wheel bearings.
If I need to add a small spacer (e.g. 3-5mm) in the future, wouldn't that be the same as running +42/+44 offset wheels? Or are those people talking about it being bad for bearings aimed at those running larger offset spacers?
My other option is to size down to 18x7.5". Those also come in +38 and +47 and I don't have to worry about poke or clearance at all.
Thoughts? Thanks.

Clearance probably depends on the suspension type and whether the relationship between the hub and strut is fixed or not.
The added stress to the wheel bearings is the same whether you have a spacer or the equivalent offset wheels. The weight of the wheel and tire is X distance from the bearing, how it got there doesn't matter.
3-5mm difference is also basically nothing. I know loads of people who have been running 1"+ spacers for years without any issues.

I'll probably just get the +47 to avoid poke and add spacers if necessary.

The ZR10 comes in a 9.5" and I'm pretty sure that rubs without modifications from what I've seen online.

One thing I forgot to add is that thin slip on spacers can be more hassle than bolt on ones. You have to keep an eye on things like are the wheels hub or lug centric, lug is no problem but hub can get weird. How long are your wheel studs/do you have enough thread engagement, if you're short you need to get into extended studs or extended nuts and then worry about if extended nuts clear the holes in the wheels and spacers without bottoming out on the hub before the wheel, etc.

2006 would make it a wireless G at best. The M10 specs shows a/b/g/n/ac but I wonder if either you have to enable to make it go back to a wireless b or g connection. It would be weird if a device is not backwards compatible with older access points that only offer older tech.
You might want to get a new router so they have better speeds anyways.

Whats everyones opinions on buying a shitbox vs leasing a newer reliable car as your first car? Assuming you are just starting your career, trying to save money overall, not looking for luxury yet.
Example:
Option A: buy a 2007 mazda 3 with 200k kms or such for 3-5k outright
Option B: lease a 2021 base civic for 300$/mo
Option C: finance a mid range 15k car? Are 0% rates even a thing anymore? Or its all 9%
Personally id say buy the shitbox, i got friends that lease/finance cars because they are tired of dealing with breakdowns (im also biased towards shitbox because i DIY repairs, i know thats not an option for alot of people)

My first car was a "reliable" shitbox i bought for $4k and I eventually spent 20k repairing over the next 15 years, it never left me stranded but I did want to replace things that were going out and basic maintenance. I was in a position to be okay doing this, but not everyone has that luxury.

Personally, I'd buy a Japanese shxtbox too, and just drive it into the ground. For new drivers, that is honestly the best route to go since:
- it is cheap
- it should be sufficiently reliable (bcos Japanese)
- you're gonna ding / scrape / curb the car anyway, so why buy something nice?
While that would be my logical train of thought, I am increasingly convinced that to survive driving in Metro Vancouver, you really don't want a car that's too small or too light. Too small means other cars will more likely not see you, and too light means you'll always lose if you get into a collision with an SUV / EV / F150.

My first car was a 10ish year old Honda too, and yeah that's when problems start coming up. You have a problem, google it, and sure enough it's a common thing that happens to that model after about 10 years. Sometimes I could fix it myself, a lot of the time I had to pay. I leased after that, and wish I'd done it sooner.
Despite the issues, I liked the car. But it was more expensive than leasing because of all the repairs and maintenance.
have used car prices come back down that much? if so i vote for used shitbox as a first car. if they're still inflated then sometimes new economy car makes sense

Have they done enough driving to know what kind of vehicle they want/need? If they lease they're kinda stuck with it for a while so if they realize a month in that they really want X feature or need something a different size it'll cost them a lot more than selling off a shitbox and buying something else.

Sure is.
It's the MMR vaccine that Andrew Wakefield did a super small "study" on that started this whole movement.
For those interested, his research was secretly funded by personal-injury lawyers whose clients were suing MMR vaccine makers.
Other fun tidbit, he has also been barred from practicing medicine and has been removed from the registry.

Or its all 9%
Personally id say buy the shitbox, i got friends that lease/finance cars because they are tired of dealing with breakdowns (im also biased towards shitbox because i DIY repairs, i know thats not an option for alot of people)
I don't think for most people it's a good idea to get a shitbox (Option A) as their only means of transportation, esp for a first job where constantly missing work trying to deal with breakdown(s) could mess up their whole career. As a second car to wrench on in their spare time, sure.
I'd say Option C: do the barebones econobox and finance it. And make it a Toyota so they can run it for 20 years with nothing but oil changes. And then they can amortize the depreciation to nothing.
Or Option D: get a bike! I had an '07 R6. Nothing makes you feel alive like winding a motor out to 17,600 rpm. For the price of a shitbox!

I was cleaning my cupboards the other night when I stumbled upon some golden smoked sardines. After two cans, I think I'm addicted now.
140 calories per can, 2g of omega fats, 18g of protein.
The smokiness hides all the typical funky fishy taste and reminds me a lot of smoked salmon. I used to eat a can of the tomato ones here and there, but they are nowhere as good tasting.
Now I just need them to go on sale for $1 a can. I feel like I could eat two cans with rice for lunch every day.

I had this conversation yesterday with a friend, since my first car is a brand new civic (pictured in avatar). I wanted a 2nd gen MS3 or just a base model civic lx with 5mt, but my parents didn't think manual would be safe as a new driver - another thing to learn. This car, despite being a Civic with CVT led me to my friend group today and several other friend groups, which were great help for my first "real" car. I couldn't have possibly done all of the things on my E46 330ci without them.
I think it's worth mentioning, what kind of support system do they have? You don't have to be mechanically inclined, but it's important to have friends who have some idea of working on a car. If they don't have any of that, then go with Option B. OTOH, they may never enter the car community. I only did because I kept going to meets/cruises with a stock CVT civic - it's definitely a momentum car lol
Option C, financing a vehicle - depends on their financial situation. It's pretty difficult saving money in this city for rainy day "uh oh my car blew its cooling system" fun, let alone when you have a loan hanging over your head.

Is taking transit plus uber/lyft when needed an option ... or is it too peasant like?
Srsly, unless you need to own a car, not only the price itself, the ICBC, gas, maintenance. Add it all up and a monthly pass plus whatever you use occasionally for uber might be less headache. Especially if young, 1st job, etc.

PUBLIC TRANSIT?!?!?!??!!!!!
WHERES THE VOTEBAN BUTTON, THIS IS A CAR FORUM
thanks for comments everyone, its for the gf, its her first car she used/uses public transport, ewwwww i think she wants one as "its time".
I pretty much told her the same thing as i read on here / tell most of my friends.
Shitbox = low entry price with "high" risk, VS midrange car = medium/high entry price with "lower" risk.
Basic/medium shit il fix at home, seems like shes gonna go the shitbox route to start. I told her as well to stay with honda/toyota/mazda etc, no bmws and MBs, overall honestly shitboxes can be quite reliable.
Out of all the cars ive had, some of them lasted years without a single break down. And the breakdowns were usually minor things even if taken to a mechanic. Blown out tire / starter motor / ignition switch / battery etc.
I think everyone has had a different past with shitboxes, and that severely changed ones opinion, just like anything else in life

That's pretty profound :p.
But yeah, you're right about that. I remember having the engine in my '86 MR2 cut out on me a couple nights driving home from SFU. Not ideal that I was losing the brake boost, going down the mountain in the dark. And swapping spark plugs on the side of the road in pouring rain, by the light of a street lamp wasn't super great.
Doing maintenance on that old car, everything was rusted: bolts would constantly round off and break. Luckily, plenty of stuff was also missing by the time I owned it. Can't struggle replacing something if it was never there! :lol.
Lots of upsides: do your own wrenching, learn about mechanical systems, build character, save money, etc. But would I wish this on someone who wasn't a car enthusiast? Man, I really wouldn't.
I guess your case is pretty different. She'd have someone who knows what they're doing to help out, and that is big. I was going off printed-out threads from the forums: 20 years ago you assholes were not very clear with instructions. And hopefully a Mazda3 won't have been beaten on like my 5th-owner MR2 was :D.

I would 100% go with a reliable used car as anyone's first. Have it inspected by a mechanic you trust and at least gauge what kind of work might be necessary/upcoming. If the current owner is against having the car inspected then you already know to move on.
Obviously I'm biased towards civics but that's because the golden era ones were basically bulletproof with basic maintenance. Some people think my 34 year old daily probably breaks down all the time and costs a lot to maintain. They're wrong lol. I have almost never been stranded by my EFs or my EK and the only time I ever was it was due to my own negligence with maintenance :lol
Learning how to fix minor things and replace consumables on a car should be a skillset everyone has. It benefits yourself and also your friends/family/anyone in need. Look at how many of us made friends just by having this common hobby!

I've bought 1 new car in my whole life... since then the most I've ever spent on a car was $12,000 on my MR2 Turbo. Everything else has been under $10,000. Even IS300 Lexi were $7,500 and faultless for daily driving for 5+ years. Nothing has ever left me stranded or broke down ever except blowing an axle out of my K20 swapped Civic racing and engine oil starvation on Celica 1zz also at racing lol
That said, I've never ventured onto the wild side of euros ie: older BMW's and stuff. I do have an E30, but I've driven it very little time and I think those are mostly regarded as pretty reliable by BMW standards.

We got my buddy’s wife a 2011 328xi as her first car. We all told her to get a Corolla or something but she wanted the “image conscious” choice of bmw ownership.
The damn thing had like 130,000kms on it and a few small accidents. I recall she paid like 8 grand for it.
So far she needed valve cover gasket, new tires, a new rim due to the old one being cracked and myriad of small issues like windshield wiper tank leaking, HIDs going out, angel eyes failing, air conditioner leaking Freon, and mysterious oil leaks that require 1qt of oil every month.
Yeah, she still doesn’t regret it. Instead she says she can’t drive anything else now as they all lack power and handling. Trololololololol.

you don't need power and handling to curb your wheels....
I have never agreed with the stupidity of flaunting status/wealth with vehicles (or anything else really). It's shallow and pathetic in nature but that's just how some people operate. Give me something that's reliable and enjoyable to drive any day of the week! Everyone can keep their shitty new vehicles lol. How many people even understand driving feel anymore? Know how to drive manual? Know how to park their car without camera assist? The more automation there is, the worse people get at driving.

That's exactly my line of thinking as well. Perhaps the golden era of old Corolla / Civic / Camcord and maybe even Mazda3 spoiled me, but for the most part, basic Japanese transportation has been very reliable for me with only regular scheduled maintenance performed on the car. With all the past Japanese vehicles that my family has gone through, the Toyotas / Hondas / Mazdas rarely ever had required any unscheduled maintenance. The same cannot be said about the several Nissans that we also had lol~

Oil - $30 odd dollars
Filter - $8 or so
Crush washer - Less than $1.00 (whatever it is, throw in a number)
Doing it myself - $10,000/hour
Cost of losing face (because Asian) - priceless
Stupid Toyota. So expensive. Should have just leased a base model BMW or Benz. Toyota so unreliable nowadays! :peek:

King Charles has been diagnosed with a form of cancer, says Buckingham Palace.
It is not prostate cancer, but was discovered during his recent treatment for an enlarged prostate.
The type of cancer has not been revealed, but according to a palace statement the King began "regular treatments" on Monday.
Buckingham Palace says the King "remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible".
He will postpone his public engagements and it is expected other senior royals will help to stand in for him during his treatment.
No further details are being shared on the stage of cancer or a prognosis.
The King, 75, returned to London from Sandringham in Norfolk on Monday morning and the palace says he has commenced treatment as an outpatient.

Most people can barely use a screwdriver and allen keys to assemble flatpacked furniture. The same could be said for doing anything around the house that requires more than a flathead screwdriver.
To be fair, car engine bays are full of plastic these days and removing panels to access a consumable is far too complicated for most people. Plus, who wants to break a clip on an access panel without a proper panel removal tools, etc. when the cost of replacing OE components is like a minimum of $100 these days?
And the majority of people do not live in homes with garages. I have a double garage that's barely large enough to fit my old E46 and the miscellanous hand tools, hydraulic jacks, stands, ramps, fluid pumps, etc. that I have accumulated over two decades to maintain the vehicles in our family. Don't even have a room for a lift, air compressors, or other next level tools that I would need to actually do more complex work. Most people would balk at spending $200 for a Mastercraft socket set.

Also it’s simply not enjoyable? Lol
I don’t have space to work on a car at home but my parents place has everything short of a hoist to work on cars.
The last thing I feel like doing it changing a fuel pump or an alternator etc. on most modern cars. When I had my truck It still had enough space in the engine bay it wasn’t so bad to work on. Newer cars I simply have no interest in trying to jam my meaty hands down into tight spaces to fix things.
It’s also one thing to casually work on a project car, it’s somthing else entirely to stress over getting your only means of transportation back on the road

The one and only time I've let a shop do an oil change on my car was Signature Mazda for the "Free first oil change"....
And they overfilled it by nearly a full litre...
I do most of my own work. Having two other vehicles to use if one's down lowers the stress and lets you take your time.
But there are some jobs that would be just too much of a hassle that I take in. Like I replaced all the brake lines on the sonoma myself after one rusty old one blew out on me a few years ago. But, when the fuel pump went I took that to a shop. I knew trying to drop a full fuel tank in my driveway on my back wasn't going to be a fun time.
I did the water pump on my F150 myself last summer. I wish I just took it in. It was such a pain in the ass to access, truck was too tall to see and reach from the top, too many hoses and lines in the way to try and get at it on my back from the bottom. If it was on a hoist, it would have been a piece of cake.

I like doing my own work when I'm doing something interesting but maintenance or breakdowns not so much. However every time I've taken a vehicle to a shop they've messed something up or tried to screw me over, and usually between dropping it off and picking it up it takes longer than just doing it myself anyways. So I've given up on shops and I'm back to just DIYing everything.

In THAT case... sounds like you're buying a second car. Get a FUN shitbox, she'll put you to work anyway, might as well make it worth it.

Why? they have no power, the most uncomfortable ride ever. I know a couple people with them and they are cool and all but not really economical these days.

There's a thread asking how people can support RS financially.. Right now the only way is to disable your ad blocker

Dang, if it's a choice between seeing my favorite forum disappear vs staring into Annie Xu from the finance department's "fuck me" gaze from across space-time that's a tough one mang.

Lousy ads…

I love my Stanley Cup................
I've had the limited edition Lainey Wilson for a few months and this thing is all that it's cracked up to be.
To this point, I had no idea who the hell Lainey Wilson was............. not into country music, but she's apparently a big deal in there thar united states of amurica............

The cup is huge. It barely fits in the cupholder of my Honda Fit. It's too small for the Ridgeline cupholder. It's top heavy and too narrow at the bottom. I use my trusty Milwaukee Packout Tumbler when I'm in the Ridge.
Anyway, the iridescent colour of the Stanley Cup is weird in a good way. I saw this awesome blue coloured one on their website not that long ago. Might have to bring out the Cricut and customize it a bit.
