For super easy:
Seasoned chicken breast sautee'd or grilled, with ranch or caesar salad dressing, some veggies (lettuce, tomatoes, etc.) and shredded cheese.
If you wanna go fancy, experiment with different seasonings for the meat and different dressings like aioli or vinaigrette, etc.
I haven't tried it, but I think a grilled chicken snack wrap with julienne'd pear or apple, radish, cabbage, & mayo (like an apple or pear slaw) with some soft creamy cheese like brie or camembert would be pretty good.

Just remembered that I do have other uses for the larger cake boxes. Being a diabetic, I check my blood sugar levels on a daily basis. I use the larger CD cake boxes as a sharps container. I cut off most of the stem part which leaves a hole at the base. I put the cover back on and invert. Makes a perfect sharps holder for used lancets.
Hey mg1,
Not sure how you're getting rid of your full sharps containers but my wife works in a pharmacy and she tells me you can just ask them for free sharps containers and also return them, sealed up and safe in the containers, in a plastic bag, for free.

check Sara's Ice Cream Shoppe if they still have them. Thats where some of the money was stolen.

Yes, I get my free ones from No Frills pharmacy on Broadway. The sharps container is rather large, so I collect my lancets in the smaller CD cake boxes I have around the house (den, family room, doghouse, garage, etc) first, then dump them in the freebie container.

North Van celebrity chef dead at 29
Anthony Sedlak was found dead in his apartment on Friday
http://media.greenradio.topscms.com/images/ea/42/2eb7767148b58b72c348b6f07d16.jpg
NORTH VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - North Vancouver celebrity chef Anthony Sedlak has died.
In a statement, the 29-year-old's family says he collapsed Friday from an undiagnosed medical condition. His body was found later that day in his apartment.
Sedlak was best-known as the host of Food Network Canada's The Main and a judge on Family Cook Off. He is also the author of the national bestseller cookbook The Main.
By the time he was 13, Sedlak knew he wanted to be a chef and, by 19, had completed a culinary arts program and four-year apprenticeship in Vancouver, before spending almost two years at La Trompette, a Michelin Star restaurant in London, England.
At 23, Sedlak won silver representing Canada at the World Junior Chef Challenge in New Zealand, and just months later, won Food Network's Superstar Chef Challenge.
The statement from his family thanks his fans and associates for all their love, devotion and condolences, and says a private funeral service will be held in Vancouver.

You can get two per visit at the works yard, you have to write down your address/name on the list but people just scribble on it.
I think you're only allowed one on the curb tho.

Yep you'll be fine. I work in Steveston and I've never had a problem with parking on weekdays (my shifts start at 4).
Weekend parking, on the other hand, is different. I don't see how anyone that works in Steveston manages to get away from work every 2 hours (or 3 if you park in residential) to move their car. :suspicious:

It should be slightly less expensive, every city is different. Moving from Langley to Abbotsford I saved $400 a year on insurance.

I would say your best bet is probably before 11:00am.
Gives you time to beat the lunch time rush, setup your bbq and take it easy for the bbq lunch and into the afternoon.
If you have a night time one it'll be hard to get a table in the mid afternoon.

I'm having the same problem as well with Ants - it's a summer thing.
I research it and here's what works.
If you see them try and trace them to where their ant hole and source of origin is.
The following thing works (so I heard)
1. Cornmeal. Sprinkle a bunch. The ants will eat it and when they do it'll expand and kill them.
2. Borax (laundry detergent). Again the ants will try and eat it and bring it back to the hole and they'll die.
3. Anything off the shelf for ant traps from hardware store (HD, Ronas, Canadian Tire etc).

For future reference: 10 o'clock seems a prime time; got there almost at 10 on the dot, and there were barely any cars parked and less than a third of tables taken.
Half an hour later, however, the streetside parking was nearly full and tables were completely gone.
Also: between 3 and 5 especially, they towed at least half a dozen cars from behind the Beach Cafe (East spanish banks one), the ones parked on the south side of the road. Looked like the guys were gonna pull in a pretty penny tonight.

Nope 4x4 trail where not many people know about and go ;)
It's sprinkling out there this morning, guys. Please be careful when driving. Oil and water do not mix. Roads will be extra slippery. If it was raining hard, the water just washes the shit away, but this amount of precipitation can cause problems.

Canadian laws should be changed to require women to "cover themselves" to prevent sexual assaults, says an Islamic street preacher in Toronto.
...
Atangana, who plans to distribute his views on paper in the coming weeks, went on to state that "the reason ... a woman gets raped is because of the way she (dresses)," and suggests that "Toronto (become) the first city in North America to introduce laws that would make it illegal for women to dress provocatively."
...
"Women here should have a dress code," he says. "That would prevent sexual assault."

Venon uses area code 250, so you might not be able to keep your 604, you can either go retail store or call them
so looks like i'll be moving to Vernon BC for my new position in 2 weeks.....just wondering will I need to chance my cell phone number? or am i able to keep my existing 604 number? if I need to change my number, do I just give roger's a call?
The main problem is when people call your 604 number.
For people in 604/778 area, it's local call for them to call you, but when you pick it up in Vernon, you'd have to pay for the LD. (the call is virtually routed from GVR to Vernon)
For people in Vernon's 250, it's LD for them to call you and LD for you to pick it up.
For you to call Vernon's 250 while in Vernon is local. And if you call 604/778 in Vernon is LD for you.
Unless you have plans that includes unlimited LD and don't worry local people never call you because of LD charges, I don't see why keep the 604 number.
If you absolutely need to keep the number for people from GVR to call you, the other thing you can do is port the number to Wind or any cheap provider that offers the cheapest plan on unlimited Canada-wide calling. Then set a call-forwarding to your number in Vernon.

Water-only cafe opens in New York City; backlash ensues | Shine On - Shine from Yahoo! Canada (http://ca.shine.yahoo.com/blogs/shine-on/water-only-cafe-opens-york-city-backlash-ensues-161030622.html)
New York City's first water-only café in Manhattan, called Molecule, serves filtered tap water to discerning water drinkers for $2.50 a glass plus tax.
If you bring your own container, the water costs just $1 for up for 50 ounces.
The owners insist their filtered water isn't just any old tap water.
"They say the water streams through a $25,000 filtering machine that uses ultraviolet rays, ozone treatments and reverse osmosis in a seven-stage processing treatment to create what they call pure H20," Sophia Hollander writes in the Wall Street Journal.
"I mean it's subtle, but if you have a sensitive palate you can totally tell," says co-owner Adam Ruhf.
Also see: How to host a true Canadian lobster boil party
Molecule has plenty of critics. Steve Cuozzo of the New York Post says he prefers the taste of both tap and bottled waters over Molecule's improved water and claims only those "who belong to the High Holy Church of Culinary Rectitude" would waste their money at the café.
Jen Doll of The Atlantic Wire isn't convinced either.
"Point is, do you want to pay $2.50 plus tax for a 16-ounce bottle of what you can get—minus the process, of course — out of your tap, or pour out of your own Britta, or glug from a bottle of Poland Spring you got for a buck at the bodega? Do we need fancy water (of course not) any more than we need fancy air?" she writes.
Ruhf seems unfazed by the criticism.
"We are trying to change the way people think about water," he says.
He and his business partner, Alexander Venet, are adamant that New York City's water, despite being a source of local pride, is not as great as its advertised to be.
"I don't want chemicals in my water. I don't even want chlorine in my water. Chlorine is like bleach. Do you want to drink bleach? No one wants to drink bleach. So that's my opinion on New York tap water," Ruhf tells the Wall Street Journal.
Rufh credits the healing properties of purified water for his recovery from two painful car accidents and the inspiration for the start-up.
"It's more of an intuitive thing about cleanliness," he explains to DNAinfo. "Not wanting toxins [from unfiltered water] to further inhibit my recovery."
Also see: Wine-fed cows are happy, produce tender Vinbovin steak
A spokesperson for the New York City Department of Environmental Protection defends the city's water.
"Public health experts agree that New York City tap water is among the safest, highest quality in the world, a standard we confirm through more than 500,000 tests each year."
At Molecule, patrons can add supplements, like energy or immunity boosts, to their "H2O cocktails" for an additional $2. Vitamins cost $1.
Molecule Water Café may be the first of its kind in New York, but it's not the first café to try to make water the main draw.
In 1987, The Water Bar opened on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, offering bottled water from 25 countries. In 2008, Melbourne's Smart Water Bar opened as a late-night spot offering hydration long after bars stop selling alcohol.
Would you pay for ultra-purified water?

Two novice 17-year-old drivers who almost hit a cyclist while drag racing on a winding road in Whistler have been charged, fined and had their vehicles impounded. This less than a day after four other young drivers were caught excessively speeding in Vancouver.
Police say it’s part of a disturbing trend that has seen an increase in complaints about speeders on Greater Vancouver highways. “This is the second incident of novice drivers involved in street racing in the Lower Mainland district in less than 24 hours” says RCMP spokesman Sgt. Peter Thiessen. “This incident could have easily resulted in serious injury or death”
Police are receiving a hike in the number of complaints about drivers witnessing cars drag racing on Hwy. 1, Hwy. 91 and Hwy. 99 from the U.S. border to Whistler, he said. In some cases, friends of racers use their vehicles to block other traffic from the road while the race is on.
“Complaints about vehicles racing on the highway appear to be on the increase over the past six months,” said Thiessen. “These drivers are putting themselves and others at risk.”
The racers face not only charges and fines between $200 and $500 but the possible forfeiture of their vehicles.
In the Whistler case, RCMP were called to an accident after two vehicles racing on Blackcomb Way were unable to stop at the stop sign at Nancy Greene Drive and swerved to avoid hitting a cyclist in the marked crosswalk.
A 2009 Mazda stopped in time but a 1995 Ford Explorer struck a boulder and both drivers tried to flee but were stopped by witnesses.
Police said the coworkers had left work together and one of them pulled across a double solid line to race the other.
Police impounded both vehicles for seven days and charged the drivers — both 17 years old and class 7 new drivers required to drive displaying a “N” symbol.
The driver of the Mazda, who lives in Whistler and had been convicted in May for speeding, was charged with driving without consideration of others on the road and fined $196.
The driver of the Ford, a 17-year-old Vancouverite living in Whistler, was charged with driving without due care and attention and fined $368. The Ford was registered in his mother’s name.
In the Vancouver incident, four drivers between 21 and 23 years old — three of whom were required to display the “N” as a condition of their licences — were ticketed $483 each and had their vehicles impounded for seven days.
The RCMP has forwarded a report to the provincial civil forfeiture office to have all vehicles, which were worth between $30,000 and $60,000 and included a Porsche, permanently seized by the province.
Rob Kroeker of the forfeiture office said vehicles can be seized if they are used to commit an offence and used unlawfully.
He said the office recently settled out of court on the forfeiture of a high-priced vehicle seized after its owner was caught speeding on Hwy. 99 last summer. He was one of 13 driving vehicles including Ferraris, Maseratis and an Aston Martin worth a total of $2 million in total. Proceedings are continuing against two others.
A man allegedly responsible for a YouTube video showing a motorcyclist travelling at up to 299 km/h on Vancouver Island is in custody in Kelowna, according to Global News.
Randy George Scott, 25, turned himself in to the Kelowna RCMP on an outstanding warrant and has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

Bizarre New Renault Ad Stars Two Girls And One Fishbowl?!
That said, Renault has released the second of its so-called "Challenge Us If You Can" videos, this time filmed at the iconic Nürburgring Nordschleife, featuring two beautiful women (one of whom is talented racer and French television presenter Margot Laffite, the other of whom is known only as Jenny, The Glam Passenger), one Red Bull Racing RB7 Renault Twingo R.S. and one rather hapless goldfish named Red Bubulle in a big glass fishbowl.
See where this is going?
Yep, the three take a lap of the track in the Twingo, the fish gets sloshed something fierce and the displaced water ends up making for an impromptu wet t-shirt moment. If that sounds to you like two minutes of your life worth spending, the video can be found below. We've also included the first Challenge video in case you prefer bowling to angling.

I had my car too close to the garage door, which closed it was fine. But when it came to getting my car out was another story. The garage lip got caught on my license plate bracket.
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q195/xmodslife/2012-07-30192929.jpg
Tried backing up, and it felt like the garage door was going to rip off. In the end, I was lucky enough to remove the screw for the bracket and get my car out without much damage

What the fuck?
A clothing store in a trendy Chicago neighborhood is one of the latest victims of a so-called flash mob robbery — when a large group storms into a shop to collectively rip off a retailer.
About 20 people entered the Mildblend Supply Co. in Wicker Park on Saturday afternoon, together grabbing more than $3,000 worth of high-priced denim jeans, according to police.
“I’ve gotten somewhat immune to the shoplifting here with young people, but this one was certainly different,” store owner Luke Cho told NBC 5 Chicago Sunday.
Cho described the group as a teenage mob. Only four staff were in the store to oppose them, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
“They completely overwhelmed us,” Cho told NBC 5. “I went to lock the door and there were a dozen more waiting to come in.”
The frantic scene was caught on store surveillance, which was posted on YouTube.
The youngsters are seen milling around one section of the store and rummaging through the stacks of jeans. At least one of them is caught stuffing a pair into his backpack as the group begins filing out of the store.
Alarmed by their presence, Cho said, he tried locking the doors.
“I think I kind of maybe stopped the flow a little bit, but I quickly realized something bad’s about to happen, and I alerted my staff to call 911,” Cho told CBS 2 Chicago.
He said the thieves were interested in a brand called Nudie Jeans, which retail for about $200 a pair.
“They knew what they wanted and went straight for it,” Cho said, according to NBC 5.
The teens weren’t trapped inside his store for long, unlocking the doors and taking cover in a local street fair.
It took police about 30 minutes to get to the store because the outdoor festivities closed off local streets, Cho said.
“They [the teens] basically pushed us aside,” Cho told the Sun-Times. “We were standing by the door. My staff got cuts and bruises and banged around until [the thieves] unlocked the door and got out.”
No one was arrested in connection to the thefts, police said Sunday.
Other flash mobs have been caught on tape stealing in recent months, including teens who robbed and trashed a Seattle-area supermarket in June.

I wouldn't keep it any longer than 6 months. Make sure it's sealed tight and away from heat.
Keep in mind, after sitting for that long it has degraded to a point where it's not as good as fresh gas. So don't expect whatever you're putting it in, to run its best.

Frank Wakelin
Jim Pattison Toyota - Surrey - Stay far far away...
I was dealing with Gord Zilkowsky regarding to our end of lease. I had been dealing with “Gord” setting up an appointment time to take care of this and discuss a new vehicle as well.
When I arrived the receptionist located him in the customer lounge. When I approached the lounge I found a rather relaxed-looking Gord sitting with his feet up watching TV. When I greeted him and reminded him of our meeting today to take care of the lease his demeanor quickly changed and he looked somewhat annoyed at my presence. He begrudgingly got up and went to his office to look up our details and returned asking for the keys to go and look at the vehicle. He was quite short in telling me to “just wait here” while he went to look at the car. When he returned he briefly asked about the details of an accident that the car was involved in (which we were found 0% at fault) then returned to his office alone. My wife had arrived by the time he came back out of his office to talk to us.
He seemed even more put off now and stated that he would need $500.00 to take care of the lease. Not a big deal, but when I asked about the reason for the changes he explained, “I just go by a chart, it’s not my chart, it’s Toyota’s chart”. I then began to ask for the specifics behind the charges to which he interrupted me and snapped, “Look that car has no value, there’s no value in it whatsoever”. My wife then asked him why he was taking that attitude towards us? He replied, “I’m not giving you attitude, I don’t even need to take this lease back from you.”
It was at that point that I became angry with how he was addressing my wife and his unprofessionalism; I told him that his attitude has been horrible since the moment I arrived, and was completely unwarranted. His tone became hostile at this point, and he threw the key he had been holding across the counter towards my wife. He then stormed off to his office and returned with the insurance papers he had taken from the car and the other key. He slid them across the table and said, “I don’t want your car”. My wife then explained that we’d rather just return the vehicle and was even willing to pay the $500.00.
Both my wife and I are disgusted by the attitude of Gord; it was very clear to us he wanted nothing to do with the lease return. We will not only never return to any dealership bearing the name “Jim Pattison” again, but at the moment also not interested in owning/leasing another Toyota.

The skate shoes at Marks are $100 but I've seen them as low as $60. They got good reviews as far as comfort goes but poor in terms of construction. I'd still buy them since I know I'd keep getting replacements if there were problems.
I have a set of real steel toe boots in my truck if necessary, but just for everyday sort of work, regulations require the minimum of a steel toe whenever I step out of my truck. I usually just go to walmart once a year and buy a pair for 29.99.

Ferrari 458 Spider Runs Over Cop - YouTube (http://youtu.be/3lKwkn6JT74)
Stephanie Pratt stars in an MTV reality show, but her boyfriend stole the show Saturday night, driving over the foot of a cop who tried to ticket his illegally-parked, six-figure Ferrari.
Pratt’s prosperous paramour, Julien Chabbott, 28, of Chelsea, was outraged when he spotted cops about to ticket his $257,000 Ferrari 458 Spider, in a no-standing zone in front of SoHo’s posh Mercer Hotel about 6:15 p.m.
Car enthusiast Damian Morys, 17, of Fresh Meadows, Queens, was admiring the Spider when he saw the confrontation and started filming.
In Morys’ version of “Men Behaving Badly,” Chabbott is seen sliding behind the wheel and attempting to drive away.
“I couldn’t believe it,” Morys said. “He can afford a $300,000 Ferrari; he should have just taken the ticket.”
The cop tried to block the fleeing Ferrari, but Chabbott apparently rolled over the officer’s foot.
The irate gumshoe slammed his hand on the window, shouting, “You run down my f------ foot!”
The cop then yanked Chabbott from the car and slammed him on to the trunk. Chabbott fell to the ground as the cop’s partner held one of his legs in the air and the injured cop slapped cuffs on him.
Police say that before the amateur began filming, Chabbott grabbed the ticket book from the cop and ignored orders to stay on the sidewalk.
Pratt, who stars on MTV’s “The Hills,” is seen on the video watching, then riding away in the car, driven by a friend.
Chabbott was illegally parked and the Spider had no registration or inspection stickers displayed. The car also lacked a front license plate. He was charged with assault, vehicular assault, obstructing governmental administration and disorderly conduct.
The cop was treated for an injured left foot and right hand and released from Bellevue Hospital.

Porsches impounded after drivers caught speeding in West Vancouver
THE CANADIAN PRESS August 7, 2012 5:01 PM
WEST VANCOUVER, B.C. — A pack of Porsches was caught speeding on a highway north of Vancouver over the weekend and the drivers didn’t get only tickets, they’ve lost their luxury wheels for a week.
West Vancouver Police say four Porsches were pulled over on the Sea to Sky Highway on Saturday by a single officer.
The officer had tracked the vehicles travelling up to 131 kilometres an hour in an 80-kilometre zone.
The Porsches have been impounded for a week and each driver was handed a ticket for $368.
Police say just a week earlier, the same officer issued warnings to members of a Porsche Club telling them the danger of speeding in the area.

So driving home from camping in the Campbell River area backcountry, I'm on the logging roads following my buddy. I thought I heard a strange POP, but the windows are up to keep the dust out, and the music is going I don't give it a second thought.
We get to paved road, and I start hearing a CLANG CLANG CLANG CLANG CLANG coming from my truck. I'm thinking "What the fuck?!" and pull over.
I see that one of my rear tires is flat, with what looks like a bit of metal sticking out of it. Once I put the spare on, I take a set of pliers and yank this motherfucker out of the blown tire:
http://www3.telus.net/bryster/Tirekillingshrapnel.jpg
I always carry tire plugs and a portable compressor when I go backroading, but they wouldn't have really cut it in this case.
The shiny line is the part that was touching the tread blocks. The blunt end is what was buried 90degrees into my tire, smashing into inside of my rim everytime the truck rolled around, explaining the noise.
Sucks I just bought these tires in October, good thing Costco has a good road hazard warranty :D

2013 Honda Accord: First Official Images Released
http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2012/08/01-2013-honda-accord-sedan.jpg
If Honda's words are to be believed, what you're looking at here is "the most sculpted Accord ever." The camouflage has been pulled away and we're now getting our first glimpse at the production 2013 Accord sedan.
Now, let's dissect that "most sculpted Accord" statement for a moment. Historically, Honda has never been known to break design barriers with its decidedly likable midsize sedan. But when you're competing with the likes of the best-selling Toyota Camry in one of the most competitive and highly shopped segments in the industry, sex doesn't always sell. And to that extent, yes, this is the most sculpted Accord we've seen – certainly more attractive than the current sedan – but it won't set the world on fire. And that's fine, because conservative, handsome styling sells.
Conservative and handsome it definitely is. We like the strong character line that sweeps along the belt line and fades off just before the C pillar, and elements like the attractive 10-spoke wheels, LED running lamps, headlamps and taillamps keep it looking modern. From the rear, we won't fault you for mistaking the Accord for a Hyundai Genesis, and we'll really have to see the car in person before making final design judgments. It's not Sonata sleek, but it certainly doesn't look bad.
That's all we know for now, though Honda does say that the 2013 Accord sedan is "bigger on the inside and smaller on the outside." We'll have more details when the car officially debuts in the fall. In the meantime, peruse the two high-res images in our attached gallery and click here for Honda's press blast.

Do you put only synthetic oil in a Nissan 370Z? I only ask because one came into my dealership and I was nearly fired on the spot by our pseudo temp manager because I had a service advisor ask the customer for synth when the "manager" already said use conventional, and I felt incredibly uncomfortable using that. Keep in mind this was not my actual manager who threatened to fire me, called me an idiot for questioning his experience and claimed all oil was the same.
EDIT: I should mention we are not
a Nissan dealership.
I guess an enthusiasts opinion doesnt matter when youre a rookie tech.

Especially a 370 would use synthetic no questions asked. Do you work at Flag that had the oil change for $25 a couple weeks back?

There's a lot of credibility issues with this study. The blending of vegetarians and vegans into a single study - two distinct diets on very different points of the spectrum. The small sample group skewing results - there are numerous possible contributing factors to brain shrinkage outside of vitamin deficiencies. I could go on.
The issues with the study aside, it's totally possible for even a vegan to intake the required amount of B12 through multi-vitamins and fortified food.

Nope, I work in the automall down the block, the vehicle was purchased from another dealership within the network and was given a discount oil change (yet the customer AGREED to pay the extra money for the synthetic). Still chapped that I was threatened with discharge over oil choice (and I think that that's not grounds for termination?).

Broadway East bound in front of Vantech Highschool was blocked off as I was headed West bound at 6am, looked like the aftermath of a police chase.
White SUV crashed front first into the lawn/bushes of the church next to Vantech, the rear end of the white SUV was smashed up pretty bad, half a block West in front of Vantech a VPD Yukon had some front end damage with an officer taking pictures of the damage, almost appears if the VPD Yukon hit the White SUV during a chase.

Wow, so thats what it was. The rear of the white SUV was crumpled in pretty good, while the VPD Yukon just had some minor damage to the front fender/bumper, it had a pushbar
