We're using CloudFlare now, so the site is being delivered through their servers. For most people in Vancouver, the site was probably quick to begin with, since the servers are in Seattle. But for everyone else, CloudFlare should speed things up, as well as keep the spammers out.

On my way to the FV, I drove across the Port Mann. Nothing like Japan, but the construction is starting to take shape, as in, its showing some progress. The section between the two supports on the bridge is being worked on ATM.

The pedestrian overpass near the theatre looks cool.

The access to United Boulevard from Lougheed - cannot wait for that overpass to open up. Thank god, Ikea and Soundsgood is on the north side of the construction.

Sanja Petrovic, the mother of 4-year-old David, said it first came to her attention "about a month ago."

"I asked him to fetch me a spoon so I could feed his little brother, and he yelled back: 'Mom, it sticks!"' Petrovic recalled. "I found him with several spoons and forks hanging from his body."

Terrified, the 26-year-old woman -- who lives in the town of Gornji Milanovac -- phoned her sister, who discovered that her son, Luka, 6, has the same attraction.

"Other kids in the family can't do this, just the two of them," Petrovic said.

The phenomenon is rare and so far medically unexplained. Several similar cases, however, have recently been reported in Serbia, and also in Croatia and Bosnia.

"As far as I know, there is no medical or scientific explanation," said radiologist Mihajlo Dodic, who runs a practice in the Serbian capital, Belgrade. He said the cousins' magnetism borders on the "paranormal."

This whole paranoia about sun exposure and fat in the diet is killing us, and has been for a couple decades now.

Well, it's working because it even has me worried. As a youngster we would be outside in the blzing sun from sunup to sundown. No sunscreen. As for diet. Nobody cared. In my younger days, I ran like the wind and played all day long. No time to eat and there was no junk food to have anyway. Plus, being poor we didn't have money for a decent meal, let alone treats. It's only when I got married things slowed down to a crawl. Funny how that works. And, staying out in the sun nowadays is kept to a minimum. I refuse to put on sunscreen, but wear a hat when forced to by the wife.

There's no reason to use sunscreen instead of tanning. It doesn't take a very dark tan at all to protect against burning and 97% of all skin cancer types.

It's the people who use sunscreen all the time, except one time where they end up getting burned, who are at risk of getting skin cancer (not to mention they are devoid of the vitamin d which would protect them for the DNA damage that may lead to cancer. As for melanoma (the dangerous skin cancer, but also most rare, that is caused by UVB rays) there's not much you can do about that except try to stay healthy (ie, get lots of sun and eat fat).

Also, ever notice that we have had this sunscreen propaganda pounded into our heads for the last 20 or so years, yet incidents of skin cancer keep increasing with use :seriously:

It's pungent to the point I want to puke. This coming from a guy who has smoked for most of his life. I'm hoping that airing out the contents will fix the problem.

I made the big mistake today of going to the Superstore in Metrotown. Fuck, that place is busy. I think I've been to that location twice, ever. Today being the second time. TOKYO - Suzuki Motor Corp. said Friday that Volkswagen AG has committed numerous breaches of their 2009 alliance to develop green cars and wants the German automaker to return its Suzuki shares.

Volkswagen owns 19.9 per cent of Suzuki under a hybrid and electric car partnership inked two years ago that never got off the ground and has unraveled into a public feud. Suzuki holds about 1.5 per cent of Volkswagen.

"I remain disappointed that we have not received what we were promised," Chief Executive Osamu Suzuki said in a statement. "If Volkswagen will not allow access it must return Suzuki's shares."

Suzuki's board of directors decided last month to dissolve the alliance and hoped to buy back its shares from Volkswagen. In response, Volkswagen said it has no plans to sell its stake in Suzuki.

The automakers established one of the world's biggest auto alliances when they joined hands in 2009. They said they would work together on product development, production and sales, with a focus on hybrid and electric cars.

Suzuki entered the deal expecting access to Volkswagen's core technologies, which would accelerate the Japanese company's development of green vehicles. But no such project was in the works nearly two years later.

For Volkswagen, the alliance represented an opportunity to boost its footprint in emerging markets. Suzuki holds nearly half the market share in India, while Volkswagen is strong in China as well as in South America and Europe.

"This notice follows a period of prolonged efforts by Suzuki to progress its relationship with VW, as agreed at the partnership's inception," the company based in Hamamatsu city said.

When Apple released its new iOS 5 operating system to go with its iPhone 4S, it touted a new app called "Find My Friends" as a great way to track and meet up with friends. If they agree, you can see their locations on a map on your screen.

But the app's enterprising customers are apparently already finding other uses. If the online posts appearing on a chat forum at MacRumors.com are for real, "Find My Friends" may have already claimed its first marriage.

Saturday night on MacRumors, a man saying he lived in New York City posted this:

Every other day, from Miserable Mondays and Terrible Tuesdays to Thankless Thursdays, I get shitloads of mail. What's with Fucked Up Fridays?

It's hard to have a good conversation. The stupid thing is that whenever she doesnt understand something, she'll default to, "Do you want me to search ___ on the web?"
